From an aussie perspective, i think that KL Rahul deserves a mention as a nominee for the openers. He batted extremely disciplined in both innings and was a crucial factor in both stabilising the 1st innings and scoring in the 2nd with jaiswal. I also think that for the keepers nomination, pant deserves some praise for his 1st innings performance from a stability perspective (there were no nominees at all) . Rahul, Pant and Reddy scored 104/150 in the first innings.
All round tho great poddy, i've come from the bloke in a bar podcast and am thoroughly looking forward to upcoming content from this channel!

Now that Webster has been added to the Aussie squad for the 2nd test and with all the media attention on Marnus, I think Marsh will play as pure batter at 3, Webster at 7 and promote Carey to 6 who is your most inform batter

Indian Here - When was the last Time Nz beat Aus at home in a test series on a bouncy green track with a kookaburra ball and a pink ball day night test ?
    Never 👎
Nz beat India in conditions of spin and slow tracks with cracks and dry as hell with no wind and an SG test ball
    Both conditions are completely different.
India has not been able to play spin and slow tracks in India for past few years .
But India has done something no ever country has ever done that is beat Aus for past how many years at home in BGT

As a kiwi it's interesting to think about preparation. The kiwis before their series sweep in India had a decisive though still hard fought loss to Sri Lanka. In the India series NZ had the prep and India was underdone. Now against Australia, India though they lost , have taken some hard lessons and up for the fight .

Not too sure what you are getting at here. NZ had a shocking bad record against Australia generally, especially in Australia, though it must be said we keep sending teams to those series without warm up prep. That was my point. As far as the NZ series sweep vs India, the warm up vs Sri Lanka was essential . Also although spin doctored pitches were a feature of the series NZ vs India, the first test was dominated by the wicket taking of a seamer, Matt Henry and , as follows through the series, the aggressive batting attitude of the kiwis.

Naah it's not just you boys. We Indians took equal stakes on the title of the team hated by the neutrals yonks ago. It would have worked both ways for this game. Whatever the result.

Dropping Marnus is not the answer. The openers are an issue, Bancroft for Kuwaja and Inglis need to be brought in

    Nobody hates aussie sporting attitude!
Especially colonial sport like cricket in India which has its popularity at its root now leading to uncotrolled emotions from the masses!!
We love A1 genuine 100% commitment and competition from the sport by players and team regardless of our team and opponent, but we do love our players and team emotionally and want them to be the best and we respect the opponent too with performance!
