    I'm glad to see they are doing the right thing by making the time to get it perfected. Too many companies throw out half baked models earlier than they should and cause a lot of grief for us early purchasers. Its bad to rush to market for both the consumer and the manufacturer, unfortunately we're in a "want it now" society.

The materials are amazing these days and even if the technology of materials, tooling has been out for many years some of it is still too expensive like titanium. The quality of the parts making up the motocrosser like the frame has had so much research, development and testing already done and well done to the team. You can see that they are developing and inventing new ways of approaching projects and are innovative.

    on average how much lighter is aluminum than chrome moly when the mass amount is the same between both metals
    ChatGPT
    Aluminum is significantly lighter than chrome-moly (chromium-molybdenum) steel when comparing materials of the same mass. The density of aluminum is about 2.7 g/cm³, while chrome-moly steel has a density of around 7.8 g/cm³. Therefore, for the same mass of material, aluminum would be approximately 2.9 times less dense than chrome-moly steel.
    This means that if you had a certain weight of aluminum and an equal weight of chrome-moly steel, the aluminum components would occupy a larger volume than the chrome-moly steel components due to its lower density. As a result, motorcycles with aluminum frames tend to be lighter than those with chrome-moly steel frames when the mass is the same. This weight reduction can result in improved performance, handling, and fuel efficiency.

    • @jeromejeffrey
      @jeromejeffrey Рік тому +1

      Aluminum is lighter by volume, but not as strong, so to get to the same strength as steel you need more aluminum which results in a bigger frame at a similar weight. The main deference is that the larger aluminum frame is significantly more ridged which has it's advantages and disadvantages. That's why some still go with steel vs. aluminum.

      @bmotomo421 Рік тому

      Um...Cannondale never built a motorcycle before. And, Triumph has been building motorcycles for decades. So, there is that fact. And, if you've ever looked at any modern Triumph, you would know the Cannondale comparison is laughable at best. This is closer to when Honda introduced the original Elsinore. We all know the effect it had on the sport. Well, anyone old enough to remember, anyway.

    Wow what a past history of moto heroes with technology put together. this can be the next Podium bike when its ready. if it shows the first year, that can be from the pro riding it and the bike helper him to cross the finish line first.
    If it takes a season first place, it will make the pro on the bike in the history books. I wish I was younger to be part of history being made, even sweeping trailers or whatever. But for everyone that is part of it, should be proud and respectful for what they got.
    Hope the motor is as beautiful as the frame. looking forward to seeing it and the complete bike.

    I like the suspense and it sounds like its being done right. Who will pilot this new beast? Bring on the engine reveal!

    John Bloor brought Triumph back from the dead, took 8 years for them to release their first bike after that, they now sell 85,000 bikes a year worldwide. But the MX community are losing their shit because they have to wait a few more months to see a bike.

    Only thing I’m concerned about are all the frames being hand welded. The costs for labour will be more and user error is possible without the precision of a robot. Plus the price. If the bikes are too expensive there will be no big market.

    Looks very nice. Excited to see the whole thing down the road. That chassis reminds me of a 06-09 yamaha yz450f frame. Those were great bikes just heavy. So this having some similarities isnt a bad thing.

      It was heavy because it had a 450 engine in it same frame on the 250f weight wise

    Triumph, despite all the "nanny" brickbats thrown your way (and it is true), I think you guys make just the best bikes out there. Are they perfect? No. But man are they well engineered, handle like a BOSS, and ride just beautifully. Can't wait to see this :)
