Everts playing the team event Ricky had everything to play for, Everts just had to get a certain position, no point in pushing yourself for the win when you only had to place in a certain position. Push hard for the win, just to prove you're faster, stack it and loose for your team mates, that's just not Stephen Everts, he did exactly what needed to be done on the day, he got the job done, there's no bravado in Stephen. He's not selfish like that, I thought he was taking it easy in all fairness, I'm not just saying that either. I know I may sound like that. Though if you talk to anyone about Stephan and they will say exactly the same thing, no sour grapes, job done happy days, overall win, achieved by the man himself 101 overall outdoor wins, 10 championships
Everts gave it his best for probably half the Moto, but ricky wouldn't give up. These guys got big egos and it would be massive if Everts could beat RC
You idiots just can't stand the thought of your supposedly best of all time in Europe. Stefan EVERTS would have never won a title over here in AMERICA. CARMICHAEL WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE WAY MORE FASTER AND JUST ALL AROUND BETTER THAN ANYONE WHO EVER SET HIS ASS ON A DIRT BIKE. THAT TRACK IS WIDE WITH SWEEPING TURNS AND THE GOAT WOULD HAVE BEAT HIM ON DAM OLD MAICO IF THATS WHAT HE WOULD HAVE BEEN on. Tortelli was the only rider ever from Europe that could beat Carmichael at times. But again he couldn't keep pace all of the time without wrecking. Why cause he was riding over his head to keep up. Younger and ended his career trying to keep up with EVERTS
Would have loved to see them over a full season. Do not know as much about carmichael but everts (especially at the end of his career) was consistent throughout.
Handed Everts his ass in his own backyard with half the motor. Last time he ever raced that bike, too. Went into off-season testing for 04 SX, got the twostroke dialed...then went out on Fonsecas 450 and without touching Ernie's settings dropped massive time at the test track, THEN remembered the last 7 races of 2003 (Reed) and said, "Think I'll get my knee cleaned up."
Ricky was getting so much headshake lol. That track really favors a 4 stroke that has that rotating mass driving you forward and isn't as affected by the sand and deep soil dragging the engine down, plus the traction and raw HP and torque advantage out of the corners and up those hills. You can hear it in their RPMs and the intensity, RC is having to work twice as hard and take much more risk. Also, some of the transitions into the jump faces are really abrupt and weird, seems really sketchy and easy to get spit over the bars on a couple of those. A lot of people don't know that MXGP allowed the 450's to be bored into a 500 at the time, so more than likely Stephen was riding a full Factory WORKS YZ500F. You can hear he's running a gear tall which helps keep the chassis from binding and just maintaining good roll speed then rolling on the throttle in low RPMs and still going similar speed, meanwhile Ricky has that thing pinned to the stopper with the bike dancing around and the front end shaking more than Michael J. Fox... lol. RC is the man.
Funny how RC won the race tho. RC is the best ever, hands down. Stefan was riding a 500cc works bikes disguised as a 450cc and still got waxed by RC. Stefan is a great rider but in terms of the fastest outdoor rider RC is king.

i believe rc was better then everts. i also love 2 strokes. to his defense though early zeros 4 strokes were bulldozers. but yeah rc is the goat and if i remember correctly he had a flu or smth that day
I don't understand these reactions by saying Rc would have won all races against Everts . You can't compare these 2 guys knowing they only raced 2 heats against eachother at MON, 2003 was for sure not the best season for Everts and was also not in his best form. They are in real life very good friends and Rc also find it sad he never could raced Everts more in his career. Personally i could not know wich one to chose from them wich was the best....they are both Legends and they have career stats that are never gonna be broken. I would love have to see the duel Everts -RC in 2006 , it was the last year of Everts his career and he was in the best form of his career where Everts beated James Stewart in his last races twice with so much smoothnes and ease at MON 2006 , it was very sad RC could not compete with his injury . We never gonna know who was the best , i just loved to see them racing and...... 2 very different racing styles agressive/smooth
Its not now the Europeans and the Aussies are much better ,the days of RC and RV are over ,and Deegan doesn't want to prove himself this year at the nations in the UK.
RC4 would have been very difficult to beat Everts on hard and slippery terrain on which Everts' finesse and motor control were formidable. He would have had the same problems as the very, very fast Pichon on his 250 RM who dominated at the start of the season on grippy/soft terrain and then struggled
The GOAT; BEATS THE WORLD ON 2 STROKE, BUMMER HONDA DROPPED OUT OF MAKING 2 STROKE, BUT RONNIE MAC KEEPS THEM RUNNING AMA SUCKS AT TIMES. ALL EMITION CONTROL WHAT A JOKE!!!!!! THANK'S from NOR-CAL
No comparison really can be made as neither were in there prime at the same time. RC was 12 when Everts completed in the AMA Supercross in ‘92. Unless you have the same bikes in the same track with both in there prime the playing field will never be even.
Everts never made the move to America to ride in the AMA supercross. i think your thinking of Jean Michel Bayle. Everts was a great rider but in America, he would of only been top 5, AMA is a huge step up from the FIM everybody knows that. it's usually traditional for the top European riders to move to America after a few FIM world titles. Everts never did that he played it safe in Europe. Greg Albertyn who was a very talented South African rider competed in the FIM against Everts for 3 seasons racing on the 250's, he was head and shoulders above everts and beat him for 3 seasons in more or less every race. after he won 4 straight world FIM championships he moved to the states and it took him 5 years to adapt and improve before he won his only AMA outdoor championship. if Albertyn had never made that move everts would never of won any of those world titles.
Carmichael could have beat EVERTS win he was 14 years old on a 105cc bike with EVERTS in the 125 World Championships. You people are nuts that do not think CARMICHAEL is and will always be the best ever

10 year career vs 20 years.
Cairoli is the only guy to come near those numbers.
i believe rc was better then everts. i also love 2 strokes. to his defense though early zeros 4 strokes were bulldozers. but yeah rc is the goat and if i remember correctly he had a flu or smth that day
If those 2 had raced eachother for a career they would be even
🐐
LOL....that commentator SUCKED!~ Bitter and trying to bait him twice!! JEALOUS!!!!
Car.Michael VS Moto.Everts 😂😂😂
Two great warriors
Charmicheal king!!! Yank Mx is way in front of any European Mx…
Its not now the Europeans and the Aussies are much better ,the days of RC and RV are over ,and Deegan doesn't want to prove himself this year at the nations in the UK.
Did ricky go 1-1 that day ?
yep!
RC4 would have been very difficult to beat Everts on hard and slippery terrain on which Everts' finesse and motor control were formidable.
He would have had the same problems as the very, very fast Pichon on his 250 RM who dominated at the start of the season on grippy/soft terrain and then struggled
Lol keep telling yourself that buddy
Il always side with 2 stroke That was awesome race
Sieg Belgien!! Everts Mister 875
The GOAT; BEATS THE WORLD ON 2 STROKE, BUMMER HONDA
DROPPED OUT OF MAKING 2
STROKE, BUT RONNIE MAC
KEEPS THEM RUNNING AMA
SUCKS AT TIMES. ALL EMITION
CONTROL WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!
THANK'S from NOR-CAL
Epic, besides James , Stefen was the only other one to keep RC honest
That 2 stroke was less tiring and tuned to perfection
RC es el mejor y en usa pero leyes menos duras ,más terrenos y too much MONEY,MONEY ....jejewjew
The best race motocross 👍👍👍
It'll be good to see who is faster between the yanks and the euros this year now that the event will be more fair than years past
100%
Europe, good cameras and bad mics
America, great shows and bad riders 😘
insane
Ricky beat that fool on a 2 stroke. That says it all.
You think Everts is a fool? I bet you RC doesn't....
@@Left-Foot-Brake He was a fool to think he could beat Ricky. That is my opinion if you don't like it than that is your issue.
Хули нам 10 кратный чемпион подумал Рики и порвал всех
Everts lapped Carmichael at foxhill
Not because they had a 1 race battle, doesn't mean he's qualified for goat hehe
Good thing it was a 2 race battle where Carmichael dominated both
@@wd840mxhighlights I'm talking about everts hehehe
Ah my bad!
No comparison really can be made as neither were in there prime at the same time. RC was 12 when Everts completed in the AMA Supercross in ‘92. Unless you have the same bikes in the same track with both in there prime the playing field will never be even.
It’s not even for anybody ever. So you win with what you got...or lose, in the case of everts.
Everts never made the move to America to ride in the AMA supercross. i think your thinking of
Jean Michel Bayle. Everts was a great rider but in America, he would of only been top 5, AMA
is a huge step up from the FIM everybody knows that. it's usually traditional for the top European
riders to move to America after a few FIM world titles. Everts never did that he played it safe in
Europe. Greg Albertyn who was a very talented South African rider competed in the FIM against
Everts for 3 seasons racing on the 250's, he was head and shoulders above everts and beat him
for 3 seasons in more or less every race. after he won 4 straight world FIM championships
he moved to the states and it took him 5 years to adapt and improve before he won his only AMA
outdoor championship. if Albertyn had never made that move everts would never of won any
of those world titles.
Carmichael could have beat EVERTS win he was 14 years old on a 105cc bike with EVERTS in the 125 World Championships. You people are nuts that do not think CARMICHAEL is and will always be the best ever
@@subconscious.com_usa6691 then name one currently active american that could beat herlings and gajser. on any outdoor track.
No one saw RC4 at Lierop MXON 2004. We know why
ricky ooooooo ricky
On a unstable ass two stroke!! Ricky Carmichael is the Goat! In everts back yard..the suspension on a four stroke works so much better!
What? lol. Not true at all.
What? lol. Those year 250 and 450f used the EXACT same frame and suspension.
Well one is 31, the other is 23. Not exactly both in their primes
Carmichael broke Everts.
holy shit no chance for everts on the fake machine, to fast the old legendäry cr 250-
No doubt RC is the goat . Sorry, RD.
rc ridein so haard
0.that 2 stroke is the key
*-/
He could ride, it's a shame he never competed for any world championships. You yanks need to get your arse's over to Europe and compete for world championships again.
Rc a tough racer all time as is Se
I was so tuned into the race at 9:33 I realized the commentators weren’t even speaking English. RC☝️
