      __ Kaizer depends where you go, at play it again and ice warhouse it's about 20 but at Dicks and slap shot it's about 40

      Well he literally says right after that he usually wears high socks and that it's not a problem.

    this is too much work. just spend the extra 5-10 bucks on shin pads with straps

      Tape is the way to go

      That won't prevent the guards from rolling in your socks, unless you you crank the straps. Just tape them outside and go.
