Merci et félicitations pour la video remarquable (suivi visuel et qualité sonore) : personnellement je ne me lasserai jamais d'écouter et réécouter les Guards Britanniques (vos cinq Corps de Musique) : un rythme tellement british, une chaude sonorité avec parfois seulement 36 musiciens. for the Colonel's Review they do where the state dress, but the Colonel of the Coldstream guards is "Sir James Bucknall" hes not a member of the Royal Family, so they are not in state dress..
The Guards march off Horse Guards to 'Bond of Friendship', then at the top of the approach road as they wheel onto The Mall, it's straight into 'Mauretania'. Two damn fine marches.
Drum Majors Seen leading The Massed Bands of The Household Division: Retired Drum Major Tony Taylor, 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards; Drum Major Johnathan Smillie, 1st Battalion Irish Guards; Senior Drum Major WO2 Scott Fitzgerald, Coldstream Guards; Drum Major Maurice Brown, Scots Guards; Drum Major Steven Staite, Grenadier Guards.
Every time I see one of these you all seem to get glued to the front of the band. Somewhere I hear the pipers but not a piper to be seen? Also behind that band will be 5 regiments of foot guards...Be a good boy and capture the whole thing next time...😊
If I am not mistaken the second tune played by the band ( symphonic ) is called "the third battalion". Pls feel free to enlighten me on this matter as I am not unsure
Why does the centre Drum Major come around the corner with his Mace face opposite to the other 4 then change back? Also is there a set number for personnel for The Massed Bands?
The reason is they are about to and complete a left hand wheel..........Note at 1:23 he changes the Mace from his left to right...........the on completion returns the Mace to his left.

Hello Louis S...someone using Sir Vincent agreed with my comment about British police now having to carry automatic weapons because of the "changing demographics." i assume he's deleted his comment.
Hello Sir Vincent...I read you "loud and clear." Today, we must be OH SO POLITICALLY CORRECT. We all know the details but dare not be specific. I have friends in Britain and they tell me that (how shall I put this?) because of changing demographics, more and more "Brits" are making enquiries to foreign embassies and consulates seeking information about emigrating. My best wishes to you sir. Greetings from Canada
If the Brigade of Guards say they need three rehearsals they need three rehearsals. They are not performed for no reason at all. If a jobs worth doing it’s worth doing well.
This is what makes me love my country, history , tradition and freedom.

Yea plus is was way more crowded on the actual day.

for the Colonel's Review they do where the state dress, but the Colonel of the Coldstream guards is "Sir James Bucknall" hes not a member of the Royal Family, so they are not in state dress..
Thanks for your splendid video - The guards are one of the few things us Brits have left to be proud of in this decrepit country
Tell me what country isn’t decrepit?
My favorite of all 🤗
Hi, great video, can you tell me the name of the first tune played from horse guards to the mall ?
The march is " Mauretania " by Duffy.
Thanks Mart.... and what a chest bursting march it is!
The Guards march off Horse Guards to 'Bond of Friendship', then at the top of the approach road as they wheel onto The Mall, it's straight into 'Mauretania'. Two damn fine marches.

That is a great Drum Major line up.
This a practise because the band majors aren’t in state ceremonial dress
whats the name of the last march please?

what is the name of the march at 04:25 ?

Bob UK the pipers can be seen in the car upper right hand corner but you need to have good eyes like me too see that ha ha
Police armed with 9 mm machine guns. My, how times have changed. Sad!
More out of necessity since a certain demographic is known for their, shall we say, reluctance to comply with British Common Law?
7:10 Whats the bagpipes play?
Which marches do they play?
There are a few bandsmen wearing Sabres. Are the officers?
Neville Oliver no they are BSM or BM
@@Coldstreamer17
And what dose that mean, in English please.
XD
BSM - Band Sergeant-Major (WO2)
BM - Bandmaster (WO1)
Warrant Officers in the band wear a sword. They are just one down from a commissioned officer.
1:23 Mauretania

An ensemble does not achieve this level of performance without extensive rehearsals. These chaps are the best for a reason.
