i made this and it turned out great! 9/10 would reccomend, i used an exacto to carve the hole which was sort of difficult but if you use a drill im sure itll be easier

First, did you use the end of the light sabre that has more of the cross like design or the plane round end above the rings? Second, when sticking on the end did you put it stud up or stud down? This sounds like a really cool tutorial and I look forward to using it!
i made the simplest yoda lightsaber, but its a good base. So basically I took some light grey binoculars and cut them in half with wire cutters. (but nail clippers work fine as well) then i filled the gap from the stud in the middle and filled it in with clay of the same color and then sanded the rough areas and added detail. hope this was helpful. :)

I’m late but a good way to take off the emitter safely is using a toenail clipper if so clean it off obviously

You can avoid using gold paint by using a gold hilt lego piece for 7:55
Its easier using a gold hilt other than a silver hilt because you just save paint and time instead of using gold paint
