I have seen tons of PBI tutorials, lots of them showing some cool features and how they do it. But that was actually not what I wanted because that was not gonna work for me. But this series is really helpful, step-by-step explained very thoroughly for an Excel user like me. And I must say I am gonna watch this again. Big Thanks, Mr. Alex.
This was definitely helpful! I love learning how to make our visualizations better. Again, I really appreciate every time you emphasize functions or tasks that YOU actually use for work. It helps me star my notes. * = remember and review because Alex says it's important. :) As always, THANK YOU!!
for power bi tutorials, can you please use a larger and black version of the mouse pointer please. it's a small accessibility point but makes following the cursor much easier
HI Alex , I'm trying to shift to a data analyst role from a developer , it has been a bit rough I must say , could you please give me few tips or suggestions to reach there faster. Would really appreciate it. P.S. You are the reason for this switch of career path , love your videos. Thanks
Not sure if anyone is still monitoring these comments but I’m curious if you can use conditional formatting to compare values across rows instead of columns?
Hello, I need help with Power BI. When I convert my page to a PDF, I encounter two issues: When the table has more data, there is a page break, meaning all the data is not shown in the PDF. When I select another slicer to filter the data, the resulting PDF has less data but also empty spaces on the page. Is there a way to dynamically adjust the page size (canvas size) based on the selected filters? Specifically, if the data is extensive, the page size should increase to include all the data in the PDF. Conversely, if the data is limited, the table should be printed without empty spaces.
What I am not able to do is conditionally format a date , by itself, if it is before Today. So If I wanted to conditionally format passed dates in a Grey font for example and any future dates remain black font (all part of the same column)...I cannot seem to be able to crack the conditions required. Any suggestions?
Dear Alex. I hope you are doing well. I am your follower on LinkedIn and I must say that you always post/share very informative stuff to help others. I am (37) a Chartered Accountant by profession and what to pursue rest of my career in data analytics and science but I really dont know from where to start as lots of information is available on this subject and there is no standard to follow. I would highly appreciate if you can pls guide me about how can I start this new career and in case there are any internationally recognised institutes from where I can do related certifications. Thank you for sparing your time and support. Kind Regards
I am a article trainee and about to quit CA halfway to pursue data analytics. Having self learnt analytics for the past few months, I would suggest you to start at absolutely level 1 - i.e. Data Understand data, especially structured data. Structured data is stored in tables. Work on tabular data. Python, SQL and other tools are for working with tabular structure data. But guess what, There is a very easy tool which can also help you understand how structured data can be worked on - EXCEL... You can perform analytics in Excel, almost to the level of other sophisticated tools, but with some limitations... When you will work with excel as an analysis tool, you will truly understand & focus on learning about data & analysis... Firat understand data & analysis, then learn tools - tools like Python, SQL, Power BI. As a CA, I would also suggest you to work on your business acumen & take advantage of your understanding of industries & business. You may not know how to use the tools for analytics, but if you know what you expect from analysis a data, you can with ease figure it out.
Google's Data analytics certification(GDAC) is a good resource if you want to understand the mentality that a Data analyst needs. While learning tools. GDAC also will show you steps involved in analytics Read other people's documentation & you will learn from their steps & mindset at each step.
Hey Alex, curious as to why you right click the values instead of going to the format tab? I know it is not much of a difference but I have never right clicked and definitely will take a look at it!
THIS IS COOL! please - can you show me how to customize the Y-axis data labels please? i need a specific color for 1 particular item.. on the y-axis.. thx.. Cherian from Abu Dhabi .. 29.Feb.2024

I learned more with one video from alex than my whole BootCamp with my school. THANK YOU ALEX!!!!!
Please create Power BI intermediate and advanced tutorials. This Tutorial series has been very helpful for me.

However Iam unable to download the data-set for conditional formatting for practicing

Is there way to highlight the matrix name as well if the score not met as per define target for last 3 months in that case ?
If yes can you guide on this aspect?

he made a lot of videos about how to get started in d.analytics you can check his channel out

@@AlexTheAnalyst got it haha and thank you for making these awesome videos! Hopefully get to see you in your next live session again!
Always use pastel colours 🙂
Any chance you have a git/github tutorial on the horizon?
I plan on doing that in the future :)
I'd opt for a more accessible color palette, such as blue and orange. Red/Green color combos are nightmares for color blind stake holders.
