- Sheila E. was Prince's drummer, collaborator, long time friend, and at one point, even his fiancée. Sheila E. joins "CBS This Morning" from Minneapolis to discuss why Prince was a "genius" and recounts how he proposed to her on stage.
Now a couple of years later, it is still very impressive how you found the strength Sheila to open yourself for an interview so short after his passing. An interview which doesn't contribute to anything and still you went to this. You are a true loving person, being deeply there for the people you love... so impressive. I am touched.

Sheila E seems a lovely person from various interviews I've seen her in. It's a shame that their engagement didn't work out, but it speaks for him that she is paying loving tributes to him.
Shelia E just shows here how classy she still is. She would not talk about inside information she knows and it shows how much respect she has for the man still. Really enjoyed the music they performed together and he will be missed.

I always loved and admired Sheila E's talent and thought her and Prince together - were magical. Not only as musicians but as friends and a couple. You can tell they had a lot of respect for each other. I'm sure she's hurting pretty badly right now. Why they would ask her what she thinks happened is pretty stupid for the interview.

Ms. Escovedo is a legend in her own right..and she is the epitome of class and beauty. I truly am sorry for her loss..and know that she and Prince shared a truly special and wonderful bond. This is such a sad time for all of us who enjoyed and loved this mans music. I used to say that I was happy that Prince didn't succumb to drug use like Michael Jackson..another artist I loved..did. But now I see that drugs are so rampant in our society..they are killing us all. Rest in peace my sweet prince. And long live his Purple Majesty. (◕︵◕)

exactly...and she was still the other woman when it came to Prince as well. or he would have married her had he been serious with that proposal...notice we never heard of this until Prince passed so he couldn't call her out for lying
Debbie Sibley I hav NEVER believed that Prince proposed to Shiela E. I always believed she is lying. I think bcos she was so loyal to him and she was jealous that he was always with other women. I feel she felt abit insulted and I believe she made the story up. I never heard any talk of their engagement send there wasn't a ring. if that happened like she said in the middle of a concert she wld hav had a follow up story about celebrating after the concert. I don't think the woman interviewing her believed her either.

PRINCE never publicly announced he was engaged to Sheila E. He did announce engagements publicly to other women. I have heard other band mates say Sheila is just full of herself. Supposedly all that was a cover because Sheila E is Gay or lesbian. She was linked with Prince's dancer at the time. Sheila's father announced it not Prince. Not long after that she was fired or left his band and went on her own.
Can you imagine the talent their children would have had if they would have gotten married and had some? Wow-

Besides being Prince's other things like his drummer, I think that Sheila E was Prince's equal and soul mate even if he did get married afterwards, guess there were circumstances!

I find it kind of tragic how 2 people were so meant to be together and so powerfully connected since day 1 but did not marry each other. Dont think it is a coincidence that neither had children nor a lasting marriage with any other person.And they always ended up back in each other's lives. Now after death, they r still so connected. It is beautiful yet v painful. No wonder she is in so much distress.I honestly think that none of the women in his life were destined to be his other then sheila and he knew it.

I love Prince so much but i hate when ppl need to just accept that he overdosed on pain pills i am sure he didn't want to be in the messed up situation he was in being in pain all the time and all he was trying to do was try and stay out of pain. I worked in the nursing field for over ten years and i knew a lot of patients on the samething Prince was on and it was hard being on the fentanyl patch that patch last's for three day's that third day while your patch is on you are with drawing so some ppl would put the other patch on before taking off the one they already have on and those patches are very strong from my regulation fentanyl is stronger then ten doses of herion that's very dangerous but it does stop ppl that has had some serious surgeries done on there body. I love Prince so much and i am sure that all he wanted to do was please his fan's and he had to pay the price for it toward's the end of his short life. R.I.PPRINCEROGERNELSON.

"the industry" has their own coroners, law enforcement, lawyers, etc; substantially compensated to make whatever report out to be what they need it to be to fool the general public. "the industry" controls the media, entertainment, sports, etc. it's easier to fool people than it is to convince them they've been fooled. we will all die some day, true, but Prince was murdered!!controlled". the hosts on these shows are reading off the questions "the industry" allows them to ask thus warranting only the answers that correspond. if sheila isn't careful, she will be "silenced" too.
