Hi Ted! i just want to help explain some things :) the reason most things are frozen is because as you can see the grocery was quite empty compared to India where all the people living there eat that food daily. If the grocery in the usa would only have fresh baked goods, they would mostly go bad before they sell out. Since there are less Indian people living in Minnesota than actual India. Also, a lot of the indian branded products are imported rather than being made locally, which is also a reason for the higher cost. I checked online and it seems that coriander is no longer being given away for free in india either sadly. Lastly, Americans make more money than Indians and our dollar value is way higher. It would be crazy if the cost of goods was the same as in India and vice versa. Youre in a different country all the way around the world :) if you missed indian food you shouldve visited some indian restaurants they have some great ones! Also, Minnesota in the winter is not to compare to India. We mostly all have cars to get around in the cold weather so we dont have to walk. And everything is very spread out in the usa so one wouldnt be able to walk somewhere. Thats why youre not seeing anyone. In the summer youd see plenty of people walking their dogs or taking walks around the neighborhood.
