You do a great job with the camera angles, lighting and commentary Brian. I would be very comfortable doing this job now that I've seen this video.
Noticed mine leaking for some time, but thought it was the O ring on my filter until this morning. Thanks for sharing this video, you made the job much more simple for me.
Geez ,this video quality is beyond clear and neat .I dont think ive ever seen a better UA-cam video.
By far, in my opinion, you are the best technician to explain how to proceed and do the job the right way in such a short time. Thank you for taking the time to edit every single video you post. Best regards.
Thanks to you, I now have the confidence to do this "looks easy" repair. Thanks for the detailed video! I'll post again with my results!
Not only that you Sir makes a detail learning video but also you make it look easy to inspire novice car owners to work it themselves. I suppprt your channel. Thanks you !!
Make sure you clean it well. Also, the gasket is the same dimensions as fram oil filter gasket. Bought one from nissan and returned it when they measured the same. 30K plus on one vehicle 100k plus on another and holding.
Great how-to video. Very professional and easy to follow. Thanks!
Great job, if you own a frontier you need this knowledge, cause it will eventually leak.all thriller no filler. Good job

In the shop manual, they have the symbol for brake fluid next to the O-ring. Would you suggest applying brake fluid or oil to the O-ring prior to installation?
Thanks!!

Glad The video helped you save. Thank you for watching!
A mechanic in my country ,made me change that coolin part , because the radiator had oil ,but it wasnt from the motor!!! it was from the trasmission🙄😒😳, !!some thechnicions here in mexico dont check first, they make you spent a lot of money because they think they are intelegent!!
Any need to lube the new gasket before reattaching with the cooler bolt?
I just did an oil change a couple days ago because i thought it was the filter. Can i do it without draining the fresh oil and just top it off when im done?
I've got a 2007 frontier, 4.0 v6...been getting mixed info online, is the seal a 59.5 mm? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
My Nissan Frontier manual states oil capacity with oil filter at 4 7/8 quarts
Thanks for the video! I did this and still having a slow leak. I torqued tomorrow spec, cleaned thoroughly, and bought genuine Nissan. Has this ever happened? Should I try again with another gasket?
Brian Dena factory recommend changing stud also
What was the solution spray did you specifically use when spraying down the cooler from inside to out ?
It was brake clean parts washer.
Would this seal leaking cause a slight oily burning smell after a drive? No wet spots noticed under my truck. 234k
The oil filter housing/cooler is a very common leak yes
What were you spraying on it to clean it before you put it back together
I’m using brake and parts cleaner spray
What's the cost of this job?
how much will be an average cost for this I take it to a mechanic?
I got it quoted for my 2005 frontier, $187. ($150/hr for labor)..there's a reason I'm at this video!
I just got a quote of $176. 2011 Pathfinder. I live in Burbank, CA.
I just replaced mine and it's still leaking from the bottom... 06 pathfinder 4.0
Did you ever get it fixed? And what was it?
@@slowjamcdub After dealing with this for a while now, I decided it is that actual oil cooler that needs to be replaced. The leak is very very slow but I did everything I could. My car has 198k miles on it, at this point I am not worried too much.
you are loose with the names of your parts. you are replacing the o-ring for oil cooler sandwich. that is not a oil cooler. show the oil cooler
