Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. In this video, I'll show you how to crochet a pumpkin. This pumpkin is a nice decoration and measures at about 9 inches wide by 9 inches in height.
This is a nice decoration for your kitchen as well as any part of your home for the fall (autumn) season, Halloween, as well as Thanksgiving. Actually it's cute for anytime of the year.
I'm using worsted weight (medium size) in 100% acrylic for this pumpkin, along with a size G 4 mm crochet hook. Feel free to adjust the size of your hook upwards to an H 5 mm crochet hook if your pumpkin is turning out a bit smaller than mine.
I'm using the more traditional colors of orange, brown, and green for my pumpkin. But feel free to use all sorts of interesting colors for your pumpkin for your favorite colors - pink, blue, purple, and more.

Planning on having a go at this pattern but struggling to find worsted weight yarn in the right colour. Can I use double knit yarn instead? For reference, I'm in the UK. Thanks 😊
Absolutely! The pumpkin might turn out a tiny bit smaller, which isn't a problem. You can also use two strands of DK weight yarn if you want your pumpkin a bit larger.

Great pattern! But I couldn’t figure out the leafs pattern or in any of the previous videos. Any links to how do the leafs will be appropriated.
But what about the leaves?
if I want to make it bigger can I just add more stitches in the foundation chain?
The formula is that the long side of the rectangle has to be about 2.5 times the length of the short side. If you want a fatter pumpkin, 3 times the length, for a tall skinnier pumpkin, 2 times the length. So you can really make one as big or as small as you wish, and any "pumpkin" shape (fat or thin) that you want. x

I can't find the leaf tutorial. I only see the rose leaves, not the three pointed one.
72 rows ? Like complete rows? Or 25 single crochet rows? I’m confused.
Each row will be comprised of 25 single crochet stitches across (right to left, or left to right depending upon how you crochet). You will then make 72 rows (up and down), containing the previously-mentioned 25 single crochet stitches on each of the 72 rows.
