You mention that its been slow, that you didn't have much action for us to see. Dude, it is nice to see that you also experience the lulls when hunting elk. And all this time I was thinking you weren't human. You're still my hero.
Regardless of the 13 episode dry spell, it is still the best hunting series on UA-cam! The Wyoming series was still top notch, even if it wasn't Cory and his "Dad". 😉
The strategy of Persistence should never be under estimated... statistically, the more days you spend in the Elk woods the better the odds are that you will be in the right place at the right time on your next hunt:) Through n through an amazing hunt, congratulations Jeff. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to share it will all of us!!
Love the patience they displayed. Saw the bull with cows. Didn't push it too much, but stayed right where they knew they could have another good chance. Persistence paid off (and I think quite a bit of elk instinct being in the right place) to successfully harvest a mature bull. Awesome stuff!
So cool!!! From the little calf coming by them squeaking to the bull coming in that close, the rocks made for perfect concealment. Persistence, grit, & a never give up attitude paid off!!! Congrats!!!
I appreciate the episodes that show each day whether it is successful or just bow hiking. This gives a realistic view of elk hunting. It’s nice to see that others struggle just as much as we do. Then, when you are successful after not giving up, the hunt is much more memorable. Congratulations. Looking forward to hunting Wyoming one day.
This was definitely a much needed kill. I really enjoy seeing people being successful in their hunts. Way to stick with it. I don't know that I would be that persistent after so many days without a kill. I may have lost interest. Good thing they relocated. Great job fellas. I could only dream about having a cooler like that. Hopefully someone who really needs it gets it. Good hunting fellas. Keep hunting and keep the hind quarters hanging. Love it.
Persistence and patience. He certainly could have been done earlier with a lesser bull. Sticking to his guns paid off and that's a beauty. Love the heavy mass and dark rack.
What a great bull for a week deserved hunter! Those men worked their butts off for that one! What an awesome episode! As always thanks so much for sharing!! Great hunt!!!
Man it's hard watching these and looking outside at the beginning of winter, knowing that the hunts are 9 months away. Love those encounters when they come running in bugleing the whole way. What a great memory to have
YES. I’m glad that Jeff wasn’t only persistent and keep getting out there and hunting hard to fill his tag, but he knew what kind of bull he wanted. He was persistent on finding the right bull. That way when he filled his tag he could say all those years and preference point were worth it. Congratulations on a great bull. Yes I glad Corey introduced us to these guys I will definitely keep up on what they are doing. I learned a lot from these guys thank you elk 101 team.
Jeff and crew did a great job with this hunt. It is ok in my mind if you wait for the bigger bull. It is a decision every hunter must make...and it is a personal decision. It paid off...experience and persistence made it happen. Good episode.
id agree about perseverance. I got my first Elk this year. Rosie in WA State. Took me 5 days and about 48 miles before getting it done in the evening on day 5. Ive never felt more accomplished. I put in the work all year and just kept going and going.
I'm hunting with my bow in November because you guys have inspired me! And yes I shoot it a lot. Lost my first six point three years ago. High lung and waited 45 minutes. Bumped him after 45 minutes. He only went 60 yards. Backed out and was awakened byup in my tent at 3 to a down pour.
That's one reason I love hunting so much, It can change in blink of an eye and all the work pays off and you are rewarded, or not and the struggle continues until it does. No guarantees.
What an incredible experience. There’s nothing like grinding it out to the point we cant do anything else and having God align the rest. Right place, right time, just enough faith, and a whole lot of grit. Congrats guys.
Congratulations, on a fine bull. Indeed, perseverance definitely can play a roll in adding to the success. Keeping a positive outlook can be difficult at times.
the persistence that this crew went through to get this hunt accomplished was nice to see and follow along. They taught me a lot about trying to fire off different kinds of calls and moving if it is not working in the particular area. Great series
Awesome day for them. That bull was fired up. That's the kinda stuff that gets my blood boiling. The Scousen Bro's were fun to watch. I do miss Donnie's banter though. Keep it up E101
I think them guys did a good job on that hunt and would like to see more of them with y'all but I'm glad he finally found that 1 bull that got him excited and was successful. Congrats
I love to hear Corey, Dirk, and the BRO guys bugling to find elk, but it's refreshing to see a different style. These guys hardly bugle at all. They work the mountain more like deer hunters than elk hunters. Amazing bull! Congradulations!
Congratulations on a great bull! Great series! Enjoyed the information about being able to shoot further for follow up shots. Enjoyed having the brothers on the show.
Persistence and Elk knowledge go hand in hand. You can kill an Elk without knowledge but you can't kill one without persistence. You can have all the persistence in the world but if your not around Elk I seriously doubt you'll kill one.
Way to go Jeff. Awesome bull. Had my heart pounding watching that bull was coming in after that calf. Way to stay persistent. Congrats to the whole team.
That was pretty cool spot and stalk episode especially with that calf walking on by at 2 yards completely oblivious and then the bull soon to follow. I am happy for Jeff after putting in all that time and energy to finally pin down a nice 6 point in Wyoming. Congrats Jeff and the team.
Yeah baby!!! Way to stick with it and make the shot count on a beautiful bull!!! Such a great series and thanks for taking us along on your hunt Jeff!!! Persistence pays off 👊👊👊
Staying the course is the only way to get where you need to be to accomplish what you want. I may not be a trophy chaser, but I understand their drive and you have to respect the effort these guys put in. Well done!
Nice work Jeff! It's fun seeing the brotherly love. Mark was my next door neighbor for years and moved into my aunts home. My brother Travis and I have been watching Cory for years now and we have been able to learn to bugle in bulls. We always talk about you guys when we are getting super tired in the high country. We keep telling ourselves that we need to get our butts in shape like Jeff and Mark. The little yearling was awesome. You can only hear a small elk talk like that in the mountains hunting elk.
Never realized a big bull like that would be that concerned about a calf in distress; especially during the rut. Figured they would think it's the cow's job to look after them. As usual your videos are both entertaining and educational. Nice bull! Congratulations Jeff.
So glad I found this channel. Not an elk hunter, just a deer hunter from out east but damn, I cannot get enough of this elk hunting. Good luck on future hunts!
Holy smokes! What an awesome ambush spot. I could feel my own heart racing as that bull started across the trail towards where the calf had crossed. Sooooo coooool! Congrats on a great bull!
Many thanks for putting together a sequence of memorable hunts not rivaled this fall. Despite the lack of "success", your calling and tactics employed have been most beneficial. Strong work!!
I knew that at some point all that persistence would pay off, and what a beautiful bull. Nice work guys and thank you for enabling all of us to tag along.
That would be so cool to have a brother that you get along with well enough to be your good hunting partner..and reliable.. very good to watch their dynamics and interactions..
Liked the strategy for success, being persistent for something you want is worth it. And practicing those shot situations make a difference for sure. Awesome part of the series.
Nothing beats being close to the animals like that! And its always a bonus when you have service where you are hunting and can facetime family and friends to share in the experience in the moment! Congrats!
After all the preparation and e-scouting that goes into one of these hunts, I cant imagine how hard it is to just pick up camp and move, especially when you find elk. Making plan is important to it but its also important to be flexible and willing to learn on the fly and change plans in order to be successful and fill a freezer. Great job Jeff and what a shot!
I really like how Jeff said he was "really Blessed".
Nice Job Jeff! SUCCESS! Great calling Jason, y'all are a great team together. Love how the video makes me feel like I'm right there with you guys!
Jeremy Gatherum Amen! Couldn’t have done it without Jas! Brother from another mother!!
You got to love it when they stick oround for the second shot.
Thoroughly enjoy Jeff, his twin, and the team put it all together. Jeff is one persistent Elk hunter...certainly one to emulate.
Nothing like a lost calf setting things in motion!
Congrats!!!
I love this time of day 🙌
It took me 17 days on the mountain to fill my elk tag this year in Utah. So yes persistence pays off. Jeff should name this bull “Persistence”! 😁
Quote of the show:
Corey: “PERSISTENCE”....believe it
I appreciate the episodes that show each day whether it is successful or just bow hiking. This gives a realistic view of elk hunting. It’s nice to see that others struggle just as much as we do. Then, when you are successful after not giving up, the hunt is much more memorable. Congratulations. Looking forward to hunting Wyoming one day.
Being that close to any wild animal is cool but being that close to an elk is on another level! Awesome job guys congrats!
Love it.
The only persistence I struggle with is in convincing my wife to let me go every weekend! lol.
You can’t help but smile when you see all the excitement on a hunters face when they capitalize on a hunt. Great follow up shot!
Amazing hunt after such tough hunting the past 8 days. Persistence paid off for Jeff ! Awesome bull.
I liked that calf, what a great at about 2-3 yards. Then the big boy showed up and the shooter took care of business. Congrats on a great bull.
As far as the Skousen brothers... of course, good information, good scenery, and ELK!
Persistence was a huge factor here. The time in the woods and seeing the struggles is true to elk hunting fashion on public land. Love this series!
Man it's hard watching these and looking outside at the beginning of winter, knowing that the hunts are 9 months away. Love those encounters when they come running in bugleing the whole way. What a great memory to have
Talk about persistence....Way to put miles on your boots and never giving up!
Congratulations Jeff and company! What a great bull, great adventure and great time!
Persistence. Hard work pays off. Wouldn’t be fun if it was easy. Congratulations.
That cow walking by that close was really cool. Awesome bull
Congrats Jeff, excellent documentation of persistence. Congrats also to you Corey for producing the best elk hunting videos out there.
Jeff and crew did a great job with this hunt. It is ok in my mind if you wait for the bigger bull. It is a decision every hunter must make...and it is a personal decision. It paid off...experience and persistence made it happen. Good episode.

What a shot and what a bull!! Great example of hard work and sticking to your goals!!
Having the the calf run to the call was pretty neat but to have the bull come right after was an epic ending to the whole set up!
This is some great information! Persistence was definitely key. Interesting to see all the green undergrowth under those dead trees.
Great bull! I agree. Follow up shots are incredibly important when there's already an arrow or bullet in an animal.
Great job sticking with it. All those miles paid off! Congratulations on a heck of a bull!
Congratulations, on a fine bull. Indeed, perseverance definitely can play a roll in adding to the success. Keeping a positive outlook can be difficult at times.
Elk are so incredibly tough! It blows me away!
the persistence that this crew went through to get this hunt accomplished was nice to see and follow along. They taught me a lot about trying to fire off different kinds of calls and moving if it is not working in the particular area. Great series
Great job. Can't believe how close that calf was.
Awesome day for them. That bull was fired up. That's the kinda stuff that gets my blood boiling. The Scousen Bro's were fun to watch. I do miss Donnie's banter though. Keep it up E101
Follow up shot is money! that's exactly why I practice long shots in the off season.
I think them guys did a good job on that hunt and would like to see more of them with y'all but I'm glad he finally found that 1 bull that got him excited and was successful. Congrats
Beautiful hard earned bull! Persistence, patience, and self discipline!
I love to hear Corey, Dirk, and the BRO guys bugling to find elk, but it's refreshing to see a different style. These guys hardly bugle at all. They work the mountain more like deer hunters than elk hunters. Amazing bull! Congradulations!
Can’t believe the close footage when that calf came by just feet away. Just outstanding. Good job guys
Awesome congrats to Jeff. Way to stick with it and not give up. The calf running by was awesome. Enjoyed watching all the hunts so far.

Yea! Yes I believe persistence is the key. And a little knowledge doesn't hurt either. Love watching. Can't wait for more.
Great bull... Jeff owes that calf for bringing him in.
Very fortunate to have that calf walk right by and not smell you. Great reward for that hard work. Congrats!
Best feeling in the world especially after running yourself into the ground mentally and physically for 8 days. Awesome job guys
It's awesome to have family that enjoys the outdoors and follows there passion together!
Always learn from these video clips. The patience Jeff showed, I need to learn that.
WOW! Proof that patience, persistence and restraint will be rewarded. That is a phenomenal bull! Congratulations, I’m so happy for you!
Yeah baby!!! Way to stick with it and make the shot count on a beautiful bull!!! Such a great series and thanks for taking us along on your hunt Jeff!!! Persistence pays off 👊👊👊
Awesome show Corey! I must say I had my doubts. But those boys did have persistence great job! Keep up the great footage.
Every once in a while they do exactly what you need. Great job!
I told you I would be exhausted after watching Jeff pursue that bull. I fell like I watched a marathon!
What a great bull. Perseverance paid off.
That was awesome! That bull was not going to let that calve get out of site! Jeff and the guys worked their butts off for that one. Well deserved👍
The Skousen brothers are hardcore elk slayers. Congrats Jeff!
Yeah!!💪 Congratulations Jeff great shooting sir! Now we are eligible for a Yeti 210 cooler
Staying the course is the only way to get where you need to be to accomplish what you want. I may not be a trophy chaser, but I understand their drive and you have to respect the effort these guys put in. Well done!

Elk are the best athletes in the animal world!
Never realized a big bull like that would be that concerned about a calf in distress; especially during the rut. Figured they would think it's the cow's job to look after them. As usual your videos are both entertaining and educational. Nice bull! Congratulations Jeff.
Persistence at it's best! Way to go Jeff! I was cheering for you!
I was able to learn a lot watching this series. The terrain alone is intimidating, appearing to be so open. A great hunt!
Awesome job getting that close when it is that windy, especially the follow up shot pin-wheeling him. Always fun to watch and learn from you guys.
That was a GREAT video! Could not hardly believe that cow who cruised by so close. Just all in all, educational and entertaining.
So glad I found this channel. Not an elk hunter, just a deer hunter from out east but damn, I cannot get enough of this elk hunting. Good luck on future hunts!
Keep putting arrows in em if you can see them. Helps following the blood trail. Awesome bull. Congrats.
Holy smokes! What an awesome ambush spot. I could feel my own heart racing as that bull started across the trail towards where the calf had crossed. Sooooo coooool! Congrats on a great bull!
Stud bull!!awesome shooting....thats why you practice at 100 yds...These guys are are beast elk hunters..thanks for Bringing them on the show
Patience - I couldn't have passed on the others... but wow! Jeff has been waiting for 10+ years for just this opportunity!
Many thanks for putting together a sequence of memorable hunts not rivaled this fall. Despite the lack of "success", your calling and tactics employed have been most beneficial. Strong work!!
Thank you for not overdoing music and letting us hear the outdoors
I knew that at some point all that persistence would pay off, and what a beautiful bull. Nice work guys and thank you for enabling all of us to tag along.
That would be so cool to have a brother that you get along with well enough to be your good hunting partner..and reliable.. very good to watch their dynamics and interactions..
Liked the strategy for success, being persistent for something you want is worth it. And practicing those shot situations make a difference for sure. Awesome part of the series.
I never thought of using my bow to steady binoculars, learning something new. Thanks again for the videos!
Nothing beats being close to the animals like that! And its always a bonus when you have service where you are hunting and can facetime family and friends to share in the experience in the moment! Congrats!
I enjoyed watching these guys, but you can’t beat Corey and Donny!
Another great episode! Congrats Jeff. Way to stay after it.
That was a cool calf encounter in the burn and CONGRATULATIONS on a nice Bull down!
Not getting frustrated with weather and moving areas were the key to success for this hunt great series so far !!!!
So glad to see the guys have such persistence, and all the hard work finally paid off.
What a neat encounter with the calf and the bull following nearly the same route. Congrats Jeff and crew!
UNREAL hunt! I loved the positive focus and determination throughout this hunt! It's going to look nice on the wall! Congrats Team Elk!
Unbelievable encounter and opportunity! Great job guys!
