"There's something I've got to do, Barb. Something I couldn't do while you were still here. I tried... You know I tried everything, but I still don't have their attention. Whatever happens, please don't think less of me." Thank you for this. I was obsessed with The Rock and its score in high school. I listened to it near daily and knew exactly which part of the movie each section of music goes with; like watching it in my head.
Ompas super tunnelmallista ja hienoa musiikkia. Tulee kyl surullisen pehmee fiilis. Koskettaa jotenkin tosi kovaa tää biisi. Kiitos super hienosta piano tulkinnasta Katja ❤
Even if his music for Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar or Gladiator seems more spectacular, every soundtrack by Hans Zimmer is actually pretty amazing, brilliant and perfectly composed, isn't it, my tumma prinsessa? 🖤🖤🖤 I love how you play rather calmly and with measured movements and yet with so much emotion and passion and sometimes with your eyes closed and how you seem to feel and literally live the music and how you are completely immersed in it! 🖤🖤🖤 I also like your rather simple yet impressive outfit (black is your colour anyway, even though officially black isn't actually a colour at all) and how you use few accessories (your two magic rings and your elegant earring - or is the second one hidden under your hair?) and sparing makeup and nail polish to look so beautiful and captivating, dear Katja! 🖤🖤🖤 I also like the different angles, especially how we can watch your graceful and delicate fingers glide over the keys from the side and also from above, although from this perspective your breathtaking, seductive and pretty perfect décolleté is the real eye-catcher! 🖤🖤🖤
🖤 Thank you, Frank! Hans Zimmer's music indeed carries its own brilliance and power, regardless of the film it accompanies. I'm glad you find beauty in simplicity, and yes, black is indeed a timeless choice. As for the Finnish trivia, "lentokonesuihkuturbiinimoottoriapumekaanikkoaliupseerioppilas" is quite the mouthful! I'll make sure to have the Salmiakki Koskenkorva ready for our meeting at the castle in Transylvania next week. Let's make it an unforgettable night 🖤🖤🖤 🟢
This has for real always been my absolute favorite movie soundtrack. It is what got me into Hans Zimmer. I am so happy you made a cover of it. This is a great cover of it. Beautifully played, and really capturing the essence of the song. Very impressive!
Thank you so much, Daniel! Happy to know that this cover resonated with you, especially since it's from your all-time favorite movie soundtrack! Wow! Hans Zimmer's work is truly iconic 🟢❤️
@@KatjaSavia As always I will spend the evening watching your videos and dreaming of your persuasive and sensual voice, Miss Katja. Thousand kisses! 💌🧡💌
Katja, I really enjoyed this version of the main theme from the Rock. I think that this is Michael Bay's best film and this theme really sets the tone for the rest of the movie. I know that he gets a lot of flack because his movies don't meet some undefined standard so much of Hollywood has, but given most of the dreck that they produce, I'll take super patriotic, masculine, and action packed films by Bay any day over what they consider to be high art. Not every movie needs to be a subversive takedown of classic figures or a character drama about some bizarre individual who had a book written about them read by wine moms only because Oprah recommended it in her book club. Sometimes adrenaline filled explosions, stunts, and violence are what we need. Now that my ranting is over, back to the song at hand. As I said, it sets a powerful tone for the rest of the film. I think that General Hummel is such a tragic character because he is at his last resort to try to help the families of those poor forgotten soldiers. The corrupt government just pushed him too far. It's sad how much he still loves the country that betrayed him and that feeling is felt throughout this theme. Stanley Goodspeed is just a simple, but brilliant man, thrown in way over his head, and yet only he has the expertise to solve the crisis. Finally there is John Mason, brilliantly portrayed by Sean Connery. I love the fan theory that he is actually James Bond deep under cover and that Mason is just an alias. As over the top as the film is, it sure is fun to watch. The fact that so much of it takes place on Alcatraz reminds me of one of my favorite Clint Eastwood movies, Escape from Alcatraz. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. You played this version of the song so beautifully and respectfully, Katja. I love that you were able to take the bombastic energy of the original and make it into more of a reflective and poignant piece which would serve beautifully as the epitaph for General Hummel, a true patriot trying to do the right thing when he had no other recourse. I love the way that you transform these classic movie themes so creatively and add your signature touch and style to them. They retain their resonance and power, but it's wrapped in a beautiful dark music package. Thank you again for your efforts at preserving these movie and game themes. I love them so very much. I can't wait to hear your next masterpiece. Aivan kuten elokuvan hahmot, tekisin kaikkeni tuodakseni sinulle onnea ja varmistaakseni, että sinua kunnioitetaan ja muistetaan aina, Katja.
🟢❤️ Thank you so much, Michael, for your thoughtful and passionate comment! I'm glad you enjoyed my rendition of The Rock theme. Hello dear Katja 😃👋. I love the movie and I love your arrangement!!! Great performance 🥰👌👏. Like #10 👍. Have a blessed weekend 🙌 ✨️😇. Best wishes and holiday greetings from Side, Turkey 🇹🇷 🏖 🌞 🤸♂️ 🫂🙋♂️.
Thank you so much, Thomas! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed both the movie and my arrangement. Sending warm holiday greetings all the way to Side, Turkey. ❤️🟢
The arrangement and performance of this slowed-down version is excellent. It immediately reminded me of General Hummel during the beginning of the movie, particularly the cemetery scene. This version feels more intimate and introspective than the original. It's a lament that reflects the General's internal conflict and regret.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I'm glad this slowed-down version resonated with you and captured the introspective essence of General Hummel's character. ❤️🟢
AWESOME! 👍🏼 I Did manage to guess the movie at the last minute (based partly on hints you left on Patreon 🙂 (plug plug ! 🙂)) Probably my greatest accomplishment for the week! 😅😊❤😍

Girlyfication of the powerful main theme...
Hmm.. emotional yes, but I wouldn't call it girly
