This was AMAZING! I was an extra on The Bodyguard back in the 90'sfor like ten days so I have memories of The Bodyguard as well as this song being one of my mom's faves! BTW written by Dolly Parton! I loved hearing all the loving things Clive said about Whitney,
Chile, I cry every damn time I hear Nippy sing either, IWALY, I Have Nothing, I Love The Lord, He I Believe, or Miracle. 😂😂😂😂 Be in tears like a newborn! 😂😂
Whitney in her prime sung the big notes effortlessly, better than anyone around and obviously ever since. I think there was a time when she played around with the vocal gymnastics, just because she could and to have some fun. She is probably a once in 50 year singer. Nobody had the range and the power combined that she had. I'm glad Costner recommended the song, he knew what she and only she could do with it.
Whitney Houston is the greatest singer of all time. At first I wasn’t gonna see the movie but I listened to an interview of the actress. She said someone told her if she gonna play Whitney she better tell the story. In other words you leave it all out there. Whitney she left it all on the stage.

Unfornatelly, Whitney's musical legacy continues collecting dust because nobody is taking care of it. Come on Arista, we need Deluxe Editions of all her albums!!
Whitney will forever be like an aunt to me. The very first time I was mesmerized and said “WOW. THIS is what a STAR is, what it is to be a CELEBRITY! This is what TALENT is! Grace, poise, elegance!” was seeing Whitney on TV as a very young kid. My very first musical memory EVER was my mom holding me and dancing to I will always love you. I couldn’t have been over 1 year old. I grew up with her music as my mom always listened to her,and she is THE only celebrity I ever cried for. She’s the only one that can make me cry with the power of her voice and the emotion she carried ,the only voice that touches that one wire to my heart and I feel profoundly. She was so much more than a singer, she was a vessel of emotions. She was a damn good story teller. She was real. Quick. Witty. Funny. And I gather all that without ever meeting her. I can only imagine what the ones privileged to have known her felt. I never got to tell her just how much she means to me,just how much she’s touched me and so many others. Rest in peace and you are forever missed, loved and appreciated Whitney.

Kevin Costner said he received major push back from Clive in regards to Whitney starting the song in Acapella. He could be on Jimmy Fallon but couldn't be there for his biggest artist whom he made a boatload of money off of. Whitney said in 2002 that 10 years later she wanted to be somewhere chilling and no one looking and seeing what she was doing. It's ironic 10 years later (2012) she'd be dead and gone.
That is not true. Whitney got a $1.2 million dollar loan from Clive to get clean and pay her debts. He was one of her biggest supporters and was in her corner. The people around her are the ones who ultimately destroyed her. Not only that, but he helped in the estate revenue to get $20 million dollars for Bobbi Kristina. Something she unfortunately wasn’t able to enjoy.
This statement isn't accurate. It was not Clive Davis who didn't want the opening a capella it was the arranger and producer David Foster. He has spoken about that phone call w K. Costner in several interviews, including on Dateline. His feeling was no one would listen to an a capella song on the radio. Turns out, he was wrong. Very wrong!

She has a huge voice and lots of star quality but even today very few black artists that have great talent make it in the business in the scale that Whitney did. I'm sure he loved her talent but from a business point of view he had to te see the waters with her and then go big
This movie is going to bring Whitney back all over again bc Clive was with her from the begining and knows her better than anyone else
That’s the point $$$$
Thanks for having Clyde Davis on!!!!!
Glad you like Clyde, sorry but this is about someone else...Clive
Clyde??
..
Lord, I know you're tired of listening to my nonsense dramas everytime I feel hurt and lost but I thank you because you never left me I feel your presence everytime I talk to you. Thank you for always guiding and keeping me and my family safe. Thank you for always giving me a chance to live despite of my sins. I am deeply sorry dear Lord for all the sins I've done to you. I love you and will always believe in you ♥♥♥
What a wonderful clip from The Tonight Show. Thanks for posting it
THE MOVIE WAS FANTASTIC. I WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN.
Just left the movies forum watching this. I was kinda skeptical but I ended up loving it . I found myself singing a lot to every song and note count. Nippy was your around the way girl. I wish I could have met her. The melody she song in the end had me in tears.
Can't wait for this Whitney Houston biopic. Hope it's good.
I'd love to hear more stories about songs he recorded
There is a fascinating documentary that does just that.
Stanley Gucci is one of my favorite actors👍..Can't wait to see him in Whitney's movie..Her voice is one in a hundred billion...to put a quantitative measure to it..😍😍😍
Sorry Stanley...auto correct...Gucci not Gucci.....SORRY!!!!
I give up..😯😯🤔😒😒😒😒😒
Tucci there that feels better 😊
@@lynda6585 Auto “correct” should be renamed auto-incorrect! 😂
@@lynda6585 Hahaha, look at it this way, made me chuckle so there's that ;) Although now I keep having visions of Stanley Tucci roccking a Gucci handbag
she was the best ever..I sob everytime i listen to her. she should not be gone. He knows who killed her. he should talk and let it out now.
Whitney Houston was the best singer ever she had it all looks vocals a great performer she was what you call a total package Whitney grew up in a time when drugs wasn't bad most of them people in the music business would get high ever since they were a teenager drugs wasn't frowned upon us until 1984
I just watched last night and was very impressed it was SOOOOOO GOOD
This was AMAZING!
What about she singing This Day? 😭 🤣
@@lets.talkabout Oh yeah that one too! I forgot about that one.
How about "In Return" and "I Look To You"?
Whitney in her prime sung the big notes effortlessly, better than anyone around and obviously ever since. I think there was a time when she played around with the vocal gymnastics, just because she could and to have some fun. She is probably a once in 50 year singer. Nobody had the range and the power combined that she had. I'm glad Costner recommended the song, he knew what she and only she could do with it.
WHITNEY IS ALIVE IN HEAVEN. SHE IS AT PEACE AND HER VOICE HAS BEEN RESTORED.
How is Whitney gone 10 years this winter...Rip Queen::((.
not the biggest fan of clive but i still hope the movie does whitney justice
Whitney Houston is the greatest singer of all time. At first I wasn’t gonna see the movie but I listened to an interview of the actress. She said someone told her if she gonna play Whitney she better tell the story. In other words you leave it all out there. Whitney she left it all on the stage.
Thankful Mr Davis shares the best part of Ms Houston, the music and the voice.
It was awesome growing up in the 80's -90's with Whitney, one of the best things to happen in my life..............Thanks God for blessing the world with her.......miss her.....
The actor that played him in the movie did really well..
But he sucks irl
My kids are 36 & 29 and they love her. She and Mariah Carey were their childhood music. ❤
It was a well done movie. Whitney had the voice of an angel.💜
That painting is hilarious! I thought he was going to say one of his grandchildren made it or something. 😂
Right! Big ass head
Great story teller I could listen to him all day
Naomi has done a SPECTACULAR job as Whitney in the biopic.
I seen the movie and it was awesome🎉❤. Reminding us again of the greatest talent ever❤
Clive Davis is 90 and still all there. That’s a great life
The movie was phenomenal!
Unfornatelly, Whitney's musical legacy continues collecting dust because nobody is taking care of it. Come on Arista, we need Deluxe Editions of all her albums!!
That's because arista does not exhist anymore, so someone needs to tell Sony to get it together and put them out
There us no arist,Sony own it,they need to pay back royalties.
So True and unfortunate
not necessarily because Whitney has been inspiring thousands, if not millions, of young generation of singers worldwide, that's a long lasting legacy.
@@maninblack9271 Hundreds of millions lol
Whitney Houston
Greatest Female singer all Time🎉
Saw the movie yesterday and its up there with all the best singer bio pic ever made!!
Shout out to Dolly Parton, who wrote the song, "I Will Always Love You."
In 1992, I heard it playing over the store radio as I shopped for the dress I buried my mother in. 💕
Dolly Parton wrote such a beautiful song (along with many other beautiful songs) & Dolly continues to make $$ off of her song, "I Will Always Love You"
What a legend
legendary money greedy bastard.
Absolutely HILARIOUS!!!
Whitney ❤️
What a brilliant man!
Fantastic film. A MUST WATCH really.
Wonderful Mr.Clive Davis ❤with the brilliant Whitney Houston. 🎼🎧🎙 Greatest 👈🇺🇸
Clive Davis Was Inspiring To Show Many Avenues For Whitney Houston, He Brought Alot Of Help For Her, And Whitney Will Always Be Remembered. ❤
Whitney's Mama discovered Whitney Houston she's the first one that side of town and her as a kid so no Clyde Davis did not discover her ,he signed her, but who wouldn't sign her?
If and when I become a parent I swear to god I will tell them who was the greatest singer of all time
Completely phenomenal
This man put Whitney back on tour before she had finished rehab. Threw a party whilst her dead body was still in the same building. And continues to cash in on her now. She deserves more.
True👍👍👍👍
Wrong. He didn't want her back on a tour because the stress on her and her voice. The truth is..her own friends and family who worked for her spent a lot of her moneym so she had to tour to pay off debts ect. Clive wanted her to rest and get better and stop cigarettes
@@jaypaidincash correct !!! He didn’t want her to do it. It was her choice because of the debt her family put her in she had bills to pay
FACTS!!! Clive is EVIL !!!!
I’ve watched the movie 4 times already!! 😂😂😂 I loved it!!!
The greatest music man...E-V-E-R !! Truly an honor and blessing to have worked for him for 8 years!!
That man is the devil he had a Grammy party after her death plus he was in the middle of her dying make a ritual sacrifice one her and her daughter he’s the devil
@@klsingzzyou know Clive?? Well, I do and he is a wonderful man with a great family and such a good heart. Let’s just say I think you are way out of line with your comment
@@petereilenberg-tl5rz no that’s the truth and Ik the truth hurts but no offense but you need to open your eyes because this world we live in is not what you think it is
@@petereilenberg-tl5rz and btw you say he’s a great man and all well that’s what they want you to think and they don’t want you to know what they really do behind closed doors especially in the music industry you see these rappers and singers throwing up these satanic signs and satanic songs and all he’s not who you think he is and that’s the truth (everything is for money the Bible says “for the love of money is the root of all evil” people do anything for money open your eyes

I really enjoyed the movie. I'm glad it was the first movie I ever watched about her. I got to see the best one first. He did a great job with it I thought.❤
they worked whitney to death during a period of time where she should’ve been rehabilitating. she passed & clive continued the grammy party while her corpse was upstairs
Facts! And this man continues to be praised everywhere. Unbearable.
Well the party was already set to happen. And she was supposed to attend I'm sure. He didn't kill her.
I forget when they found her and how it was let to be known of her passing but you can't blame him for her passing away. He infact suggested and requested rehab for her
@@ruruvarela that shouldn’t have been an excuse. a re boot of the planned party could’ve always happened the next day. and i never blamed him.
Brilliant interview.
U can see he loved Whitney so much.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This statement isn't accurate. It was not Clive Davis who didn't want the opening a capella it was the arranger and producer David Foster. He has spoken about that phone call w K. Costner in several interviews, including on Dateline. His feeling was no one would listen to an a capella song on the radio. Turns out, he was wrong. Very wrong!
