🦋Note🦋: The Raspberry Beetle in Kilima, as well as the Spitfire Cicada, Leafstalker Mantis, Bahari Glowbug and Stripeshell Snail in Bahari Bay also drop Silk Thread!
Talk about convenient timing. This was gonna be the first thing I was hunting when I logged in today. I need the threads for a quest. I see how my luck runs now... I have zero problem locating mining & animal resources, but I've never encountered more than 1 rare bug ever. I'm glad you did this AFTER the last update. I read that they changed spawn locations.
Hehe, that's good timing indeed. It's really very luck based, but the once we mentioned to have found more frequently should be easier to find in general - you just need to know what to look for. Wishing you best of luck with your silk thread hunt!
Wow I caught the rare rainbow butterfly and the rare golden bee just a few days after starting the game so I thought they weren't that special😅 Guess I got really lucky 😄
Oh wow, I hadn't even noticed as I usually never needed to buy any - that's quite a steep increase. Seems they did that a few patches ago. There are a couple of additional bugs that drop Silk Thread we weren't aware of at that time (early days), but we should have covered most of them. As long as you bug hunt a little bit now and then, you'll start accumulating enough over time!
@@rinlovie5558 I'm not a big fan of bugs either, but they actually managed to make even the weirdest ones look almost adorable. But I can see how that can be an issue for you - at least there is an alternative, even if expensive.
That's true. We did that video fairly early in the beta and missed a few, including the Raspberry Beetle. The others are the Spitfire Cicada, Leafstalker Mantis, Bahari Glowbug and Stripeshell Snail. I guess some of them are fairly rare and not worth farming, but if they'll add a new zone at one point and more bugs, we'll do an updated guide for sure! I'll add a pinned comment with the missing bugs! 👍
Thanks, yes! There are actually a few others that we weren't aware of at that time either or that have been added, but hopefully this still covers most and is helpful to get you started!
Well, don't worry too much - once you start bug hunting a bit more, you will have more Silk than what you'll ever need. And Gold won't be a problem either, it's just a bit slower at the beginning. With the latest economy update, it should be even easier to make Gold.
It feels like a massive increase, but I can assure you that - if you play the game for a while - you will get more than enough silk. Personally I find Azure Stonehoppers in Bahari Bay to be found quite frequently and easy to hunt. Also, the Scintillating Centipedes that appear quite often when mining. It will add up quickly - as with any resources, it's always a bit of a grind in the beginning but then you'll drown in that stuff.
That's either very odd or very bad luck. Haven't you found any of the insects we show? Some are fairly easy to find and not too rare. What were you trying to hunt and where?

Oh my gosh thank you so much! I have been catching bugs for what feels like forever only to find out I was in the wrong places or the wrong bugs!
Thank you for included the map with highlighted area, this is SO helpful!
Ooh thanks, good to hear the format is helpful! 😀
I've actually managed to get 2 fairy mantis by sneaking up on them by pulse water plains and they each gave me 12 silk threads, it was amazing!
That really amazing, especially finding 2 of them! Congratz!
thanks for the video it is really helpful. I was wondering where to get the silk thread from and now I know.
Thank you, really glad it has been helpful! Always happy to hear suggestions for other guides that could be useful!

That's very very lucky indeed! Maybe a good omen for future drops? 😄 Congratz!
Awesome! Thank you 😉
Price of silk has gone up its now over 500 gold to buy. So guess i will have to bug hunt. Thanks for the tips on the bugs to look for.

Ooh, I got a silk thread from a Raspberry Beetle on Badruu's farm.
That's very lucky indeed - we never encountered that one! Great find! 🍀
The raspberry beetle also gives silk thread I found it in leafhopper hills near the farm fields

Why is the hairy millipede so cute? Bugs shouldn't be adorable.
I know, right! It's truly adorable 😄
You forgot the Bahari Glowbug which drops Silk Thread.

Muito obrigada!
Thanks!
The fact that silk is now 900g in stores 😭😭😭

🤩
Omg the fact that silk used to be 145 gold at the furniture store kills me inside. It's 580 now 😂

2 days and 8 hours later still can't find any silk thread. I'm about to delete this game and be done with it.
