I like that Amy described Inside Out as a workplace comedy. It really works as a concept and almost all the original cast from the first movie got their break out roles on workplace comedies. It’s a good nod for the adults along with all the clever jokes and themes.

I didnt want to see Horizons but you sold me on it. I love old westerns like Once Upon a time in the west and The goodbadugly Plus, I love ambition. Even if I'm bored at least it's a movie that we don't get often

Just watched The Bikeriders today after having seen your review, in which I went in with fairly low expectations for that reason. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed it, and I thought the way they chose to tell the story was pretty interesting and surprisingly humorous at times.
That's awesome that What You Wish For finally dropped, I was pretty disappointed when I couldn't see it at Fantastic Fest last year since there was only one show in the second half of the festival. I REALLY hope they fix the ticketing app for the next festival. Thanks for the info Cody, and pretty solid list too!
As someone who enjoys a good Western From Spaghetti to Neo, I enjoyed Horizon which actually brought out some emotions and willing to go on that Journey but ended up going to a 6:45 showing. With about 15 minutes left, the screen goes blank and the lights go on while we can all still hear dialog in the background. It took 10 minutes for them to correct the problem and had to rewind it back. A 3 hour movie turned into almost 3 and a Half!

The Bikeriders wasn't as good as I expected it to be but I thought it was still pretty damn good. I do wish Tom Hardy's and Austin Butler's characters would've had more of a Dr Xavier/ Magneto relationship where they disagree about the direction the gang is heading

Having just seen A Quiet Place Day 1 yesterday, I really liked it...if you dont think of it as a A Quiet Place movie. Cause really the heart and soul of this movie is really about this woman's journey and acceptance of death...an alien invasion just happens to be the backdrop. And that is a really cool concept. But tying into another universe kind of frustrated me. Not just the lack of answers, but it makes me even more annoyed at the second movie, because if the military knew that quickly into the invasion that the creatures cant swim....then why did the family from the first movie (or a lot of people) not know this information on day 480 or whatever it was. We even see in the film a woman transcribing messages from the radio, so obviously information is being passed along.
I loved Horizon I watched it at a premier where the actors were there in LA. I would say the only complaint was how it felt a little unorganized so it made me a little confused until the ending I kept wondering if this character was this character later so many different characters but by the ending I fell in love with where the movie is trying to tell us where we're going multiple different people different characters who are going to come together in the end and also telling the story of the struggle of our ancestors it literally is in the name its an American Saga the violence depicted and life is accurate and I appreciate them for not sugarcoating the life our people had to endure and survive in the west I can't wait for part 2 and the next last 2 parts next year
Do I need to see quiet place 1 and 2 to see day one? Also should I rent 5he strangers for a whole 20 dollars are should I just wait cause I hear mixed reviews about it?

I didn’t enjoy The Watchers but I love the concept of it I did however enjoy seeing Quiet Place Day One in theaters. I feel like that movie does prequels and sequels well.
To tell you the truth and be honest I think when the Awards season come back around especially the Oscars. Kevin Costner "Horizon: An American Saga" probably will get nominated in different categories or might win. I'm surprised that you didn't liked The Bikeriders because it had a lot of good solid reviews and was attached to a well-known director Jeff Nichols who gave us many good films....... Glenn Powell is definitely an amazing actor and definitely rising in Hollywood. He was attached to good movies and TV series before his rise to fame so I'm pretty much familiar with his work especially acting in Ryan Murphy production. Nick Stahn recently guest starred in the popular awesome Crime Thriller Drama series Animal Kingdom that was based on the Australian film and joined AMC Fear The Walking Dead when his character crossover from his prequel web miniseries Dead In The Water.

I feel like all the trailers that I saw for the bike rider made it look like it was going to be just a story about this biker group growing up, and I figured it was going to be prettyboring
I agree with you on The Bikeriders. I think it was marketed wrong. I didn't get what I expected from it. Plus the ending fell really flat, I didn't get what I wanted from it. It was OK, I didn't hate it. I may watch it again on streaming. Just wanted something different from it. I also feel they wasted having Norman Redus in it. He really didn't have an impact on the story at all.
Wait so directors like shamalan who have interesting premisises, how does that work is he writing the movie also or does he pick a premise and then hire a writer to flesh it out or does he just purposely look for upcoming movies with a weird premise and choose to work on those idk I'm curious
I think M. Night has written every movie he's made except for Old, which was based on a book, that he wrote the script for. If that helps at all. They're all his original ideas.
I think horizon was my top. It had amazing directing the look is just amazing. The action was done so well and practical effects. It broke me with the dad and son scene plus the mother son. I love that all the stories had the same amount of time to get yo know and feel for the characters. Oppenheimer was a worse movie than horizon and had less action and way more talking than horizon. I am shattered it's bombing when so many worse movies are smashing the box office that are worse. And so many reviewsers are not promoting it with reviews over bad movies. Can't wait for the second. I liked it way more than the quiet place 3.
I’m not sure if I felt the Bikeriders was advertised as an intense thriller, it was pretty much what I expected and really enjoyed it. But to each their own!
@@CodyLeachYT yeah I suppose, I guess for me the movie gave me enough of that to make me feel satisfied. I enjoyed seeing a different take with the camaraderie too mixed with the crime aspects. But as I said, to each their own!
I'm a total TNG nut. Voyager is also pretty great. But DS9, uuuff, tried to watch the pilot two times, fell asleep both times. Perhaps it's time for a third attempt in the near future. Last time is already 3 or 4 years ago. :D
My issue with the bike riders is 1. I didn’t like how the movie only showed from the wife’s perspective. They should have shown it from Austin butler’s perspective too and dove into his childhood. How did he meet Johnny? What made him become a biker? 2. The movie should have shown more of what that young kid who took over did. Show us the crime part of it. I wasn’t too invested in the characters or story because it felt like they left all the interesting stuff out. As for hitman I disagree with add more comedy I really felt this would have worked way better as a more serious movie like a running scared or run all night
"What you wish for" was such a great surprise!!!! Big time, I rented and it was su fuck up!!! and they manage to make sense!!!! But I think Inside Out was June's #1
Yeah I do wish we got more info from a quiet place day one but it was still a good film a quiet place part 3 which next year will come out maybe not sure yet hope it will be a great ending for the family and I’m hoping they can make other stories for the franchise and give better info but will just wait and see what happens but the movie was probably a solid 7/10 and 4 stars

I didn’t enjoy The Watchers but I love the concept of it I did however enjoy seeing Quiet Place Day One in theaters. I feel like that movie does prequels and sequels well.
To tell you the truth and be honest I think when the Awards season come back around especially the Oscars. Kevin Costner "Horizon: An American Saga" probably will get nominated in different categories or might win. I'm surprised that you didn't liked The Bikeriders because it had a lot of good solid reviews and was attached to a well-known director Jeff Nichols who gave us many good films....... Glenn Powell is definitely an amazing actor and definitely rising in Hollywood. He was attached to good movies and TV series before his rise to fame so I'm pretty much familiar with his work especially acting in Ryan Murphy production.
Nick Stahn recently guest starred in the popular awesome Crime Thriller Drama series Animal Kingdom that was based on the Australian film and joined AMC Fear The Walking Dead when his character crossover from his prequel web miniseries Dead In The Water.

I feel like all the trailers that I saw for the bike rider made it look like it was going to be just a story about this biker group growing up, and I figured it was going to be prettyboring

I agree with you on The Bikeriders. I think it was marketed wrong. I didn't get what I expected from it. Plus the ending fell really flat, I didn't get what I wanted from it. It was OK, I didn't hate it. I may watch it again on streaming. Just wanted something different from it. I also feel they wasted having Norman Redus in it. He really didn't have an impact on the story at all.
Wait so directors like shamalan who have interesting premisises, how does that work is he writing the movie also or does he pick a premise and then hire a writer to flesh it out or does he just purposely look for upcoming movies with a weird premise and choose to work on those idk I'm curious
I think M. Night has written every movie he's made except for Old, which was based on a book, that he wrote the script for. If that helps at all. They're all his original ideas.
I think horizon was my top. It had amazing directing the look is just amazing. The action was done so well and practical effects. It broke me with the dad and son scene plus the mother son. I love that all the stories had the same amount of time to get yo know and feel for the characters. Oppenheimer was a worse movie than horizon and had less action and way more talking than horizon. I am shattered it's bombing when so many worse movies are smashing the box office that are worse. And so many reviewsers are not promoting it with reviews over bad movies. Can't wait for the second. I liked it way more than the quiet place 3.
Cody! You need to see Thelma! The funniest and most charming movie of 2024 thus far. A pretty good action flick, too. Go see it before it's gone!

I’m not sure if I felt the Bikeriders was advertised as an intense thriller, it was pretty much what I expected and really enjoyed it. But to each their own!
When you watch the trailer they focus quite a bit on the crime side of the movie. Basically any crime-related scene in the movie…is in the trailer.
@@CodyLeachYT yeah I suppose, I guess for me the movie gave me enough of that to make me feel satisfied. I enjoyed seeing a different take with the camaraderie too mixed with the crime aspects. But as I said, to each their own!
Deep Space 9 is a series where you have to watch about 3 seasons before it becomes the best Star Trek series of all time.
I'm a total TNG nut. Voyager is also pretty great. But DS9, uuuff, tried to watch the pilot two times, fell asleep both times. Perhaps it's time for a third attempt in the near future. Last time is already 3 or 4 years ago. :D
My issue with the bike riders is 1. I didn’t like how the movie only showed from the wife’s perspective. They should have shown it from Austin butler’s perspective too and dove into his childhood. How did he meet Johnny? What made him become a biker? 2. The movie should have shown more of what that young kid who took over did. Show us the crime part of it. I wasn’t too invested in the characters or story because it felt like they left all the interesting stuff out. As for hitman I disagree with add more comedy I really felt this would have worked way better as a more serious movie like a running scared or run all night

"What you wish for" was such a great surprise!!!! Big time, I rented and it was su fuck up!!! and they manage to make sense!!!! But I think Inside Out was June's #1

Yeah I do wish we got more info from a quiet place day one but it was still a good film a quiet place part 3 which next year will come out maybe not sure yet hope it will be a great ending for the family and I’m hoping they can make other stories for the franchise and give better info but will just wait and see what happens but the movie was probably a solid 7/10 and 4 stars
Feel the same way with Quiet Place. Saw it yesterday. Was a bit dissapointed. Good but not great.

BIKERIDERS WAS THE BEST OF ALL THESE BY FAR - had to disagree with you on that take. Was an excellent film. Could it have been maybe 15-20mins shorter? Sure. But otherwise great
I didn’t like I Saw The Tv Glow very much. It just wasn’t scary. So you really didn’t miss much by not seeing it
