As an alto I really wish I had ur voice as a support when going higher. I find it harder to match the pitch of the piano the higher I go. Apart from that love ur videos
Oh Anna and Mark. I have been waiting for something like this for ages! Don't know if you can remember me saying that I had branched out into a little light opera. Well you are taking that one step further for me! We are away for 2 weeks tomorrow, so I am also a little frustrated but I shall have my PC with me in case I get some free time (!). It really bothers me that I shall be away from singing for a fortnight, but I will still do the warm ups. Part of the time we are staying with family, and part in hotels, so the other guests will have to put up with it if I decide to sing. I hope my voice will not go backwards whilst we're away. You have my thanks as usual. I cannot wait to get into this one! I had done some practice a little earlier on in fact, so I couldn't resist trying it out, just a little! I was pretty pleased because my upper register has moved up quite a bit now, from Mezzo, to more of a soprano level. But I still sing the widest range of notes that I can manage. I have "duetted" Tonight from West Side Story with no trouble, and also love singing If I Loved You. Sorry, I've got carried away as usual, but you both seem to be reading my mind! Kindest regards. xx
That was so much fun! I am currently trying to feminize my voice and I am naturally a baritone: you guys got me giggling! Wow! I actually caught a note or two! Keep your fingers crossed!
oh my goodness I've never been able to touch a high F before. It was sorta strained and didn't sound like "singing", but I never touched it with my voice before oh my goodness thank you for that exercise
Love your videos! I use these drills on my vocal students and I enjoy the creativity and practicality behind these drills. Thanks for yalls hard work!!! Love your voice Anna
This was exactly what I needed for an audition we have to sing the star spangled banner and I'm contemplating mezzo soprano or soprano. Although I'm thinking of doing soprano one
Awesome exercises!! Unfortunately, I’m unable to do it, it’s really way too high for me as my voice is naturally low. In any case I’ll try my best to practice it everyday hopefully it’s improve my high notes. Thank you Anna & Mark!
Personally, I wouldn't be telling beginners or any vocalist for that matter to "Keep Going" if your vocal chords are under a lot of pressure and strain. But I think you meant just to not be discouraged, so I get what you mean. But if your vocal chords are feeling stressed or painful then STOP and rest of at least a day.
I'm practicing always with you, love you Anna & Mark !!!! THANKS ! My voice is always getting stronger and beautiful :-) It's trueee, youuu are beauuuutiful :-D
So I have a question. I’m bass transition to baritone. Anyways the highest I could go was A5 that was year go and I practice whistle voice excersise and go to a D6. Now I can hit E6. But here’s the issue I think practicing head voice and having high larynx stop me from hitting the D6. Usually I could hit a power B5 in headvoice. But now it’s weak I have determined to factor that either I didn’t practice the whistle excersise enough or that straining probably was a probably was the factor. Now I can still hit the note but only on rested larynx. So what imma do is what on larynx control excersise and continue the whistle voice excersise and I stop going for more cause once I hit the note I couldn’t hit again until minutes later the E6 but after that the highest my be C6. I learn to stop straining and allow my voice to develop until I can get me a vocal coach.
Is it ok to do this every day? And if it's still comfortable, can we go beyond when you stop playing/ singing the scales? Just want to check super-high singing regularly won't do any damage, and how to balance stretching a bit further than comfortable to get a bigger range, vs. going to far and damaging. I've lost a couple of notes from being out of practice in the last few months, currently have a decent C#6, can hit D6 but not well. Want to see if I can eventually get up to that F6 for the Queen of Night's aria, if you could advise what's the most you can do healthily. Thank you!
Please I want to know, are you using falsettos/ head voice? Cz I'm a male and I'm reaching those high notes in falsettos/ head voice or whistle but not in my actual voice... Is that how it's supposed to be?
Thanks for the great video! Could you maybe tell us what the notes from the exercise are? Just so it's easier to practice and so we know where we are. Thanks!
I LOVE your videos! Could you make a video just like this but go all the way up to a high G (just a whole step higher than this video)????? I love the workout, but just need a couple more notes. =)
Hello and thank you very much for your videos! (They are very helpful!) I was wondering if you guys have anything on singing higher using a chest/stronger voice? Thank you, that would be very helpful!

Thanks Anna for each video that you share with us, I’m work this warm ups with my choir! Do you have some book of musicology?
yaaa!!! I'm really glad you're back doing this!
Thank you for this!! Super exercises :)
I think some of these exercises are referred to by some vocal coaches as training through cuperto, a small head voice with ample throat space.
Thank you for this video! I needed help getting my range back after many years of not singing. You are amazing.
This video has helped me improve my head voice immensely!!
Thank you. 😊

I was wondering if you guys have anything on singing higher using a chest/stronger voice?
Thank you, that would be very helpful!
The first exersice I wasnt able to reach with out my falsetto. Am I allowed to use my falsetto?
Or do I just do it another octive lower?
Anna, with these exercises, are you meant to be using your head voice the entire time?
Yes, adding twang where I mention it. Never try to sing on thick folds.
is the original name of the last tune? The one where we say "I can sing higher."
it's all about me ♡ (epic sentence and wonderful mood) ☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆
My Cat 1:23 😂 Declared A War On Me After That!
So great. Real world, hard work and a lot of patience. You're working to make notes available. Get comfortable with periodically sucking too... lol
Definitely this is my favourite exercise from you
What was that thing said about the larynx?
I’m years late to this video but I almost go that F 😅 It been a while and I want to build up my upper range again

Are these exercises for males too because they seem really high
Is this only classical or can be pop rock?
I get high pitch but it's like a squeaky sound as if I'm in some sort of pain.. Is that how it is suppose to sound?
i used to have the same problem
It might sound weird but what you guys are using is flageolet!=)
You are amazing❤️ but It’s so hard for me to do that 😞
Hey i saw you teaching english in some other video
Why my voice got deeper like I can't sing like when I was 13 and I'm 15 and I'm a girl
Does this help chest and mixed voice?
