Excellent interpretation, bravo sir. Was one of my favorite pieces to play as a music major way back when. This makes me want to go back to it. You've given me a fresh inspiration. Thanks very much for posting it.
Start with the Bouree, then the Allemande. Next, tackle the Gigue and then move on to the Passagio/Presto (Passagio is easier). Save the Courante and the Sarabande for last, as they are the most difficult.
Wow!!! Came to this after listening to Bouree', Ian Anderson. Credits said it was based on this. Great, incredible, amazing and so relaxing. Always loved, listening to and playing minor key music. It's great in all genre's . Thanks for the treat.
Thank you so much. All I can say is that it takes me so, so long, and so much hard work. Well, "hard work" is the wrong term, because I love it down to my bones, but it's just so many hundreds of hours. Maybe someday it will be easier for me. I think I feel the same way watching this guy that you feel watching me. Just can't believe it can be so good: ua-cam.com/video/9yp7uWMDzOk/v-deo.html
@@adamroth75 Indeed!! The link you shared reminds me of J Bream --a bit brittle maybe? Escucharlo en guiatrristas como Usted es sentir la presencia absoluta de Bach, gracias mil, simplemente maravilloso, nunca escuche ese tempo de la Giga , es un nuevo camino hacia la luz.
The Allemande from this piece is one of my favorite pieces of music ever written. Your interpretation is outstanding. 2020 and Bach’s genius is still being digested and awe inspiring. Bravo...
Beautiful performance...very nice Bach suite!... Hearing this on guitar is fantastic... Really is good!... Bravo!... 👍!.. 🔔!... Have a great day new friend!...from of Honduras 🇭🇳!.... Hemigdio!
I find that many great players of Bach miss something about how they interpret the music, you really bring them all to life, this is the first time I've actually enjoyed listening to anyone play the whole 996 suite and enjoy it !, thank you Adam :)
amazing work Adam...your impeccable timing and phrasing reminds so much of John William's epic recording of Bach lute works. It takes this level of skill in order to interpret Bach on the guitar and still be able to appreciate the polyphony of Bach's music. Congratulations.
There are few things more exciting than a really good live performance in the flesh right there before your very eyes! You did it for me! I was amazed and I am sure that Father Bach would approve. It is also amazing that Bach composed this during a few weeks playing with Samuel Weiss( if I remember correctly). We also forget that Bach's grandfather played the lute and it was probably one of the first instruments that Bach would have played. And just one thing more. When Segovia was desperate for a reportoire for the guitar, this is what he found.
Excellent performance of the legend Bach with excellent technic and nuance. By the way, i liked the guitar sound. It was extremely superb. Thanks for uploading.
Nice tone and interpretation! Also very delighting to hear you play the allemande in a more moderate tempo, most people play that movement way to fast :)
Supernatural playing dude! I have a hard time believing someone wrote this and an even harder time believing someone could play it as faultless as you did here. 5 stars, two thumbs up (I have this piece but like someone else here, I only know bourree and that is mainly because of Jethro Tull)
wow :p i have tried to play most of these pieces. but i play them too fast and it is just not alot of music, i realise this after this video, thank you
One tip from a student guitarist is to sing the piece in your head... Most importantly Bach... you should really sing a lot.... that will improve the way you perceive musical phrases and with that, you will have a tendency to slow down....
I'm impressed that this managed to calm me down drastically, I woke up angry as all hell from a stupid dream, I can't even tell you how much this music helps
Well, the journey is a joy, and there's no limit to the improvement we can attain via hard work, creativity and imagination. Good luck! Thanks for watching!
Hi Jose. Thanks so much for watching! The guitar was built by Marshall Bruné (mebrune.com). It uses a special bracing system that he and his father developed.
Thanks for watching! While we don't have an original source of this music in Bach's hand, one of the surviving primary sources (copied by another) is inscribed with the subtitle: "aufs Lauten Werck", a reference to a funky keyboard instrument invented in 1718 that's a kind of mash-up of a lute and harpsichord. So, this piece may have been originally for a keyboard instrument anyway! Cheers, Adam
@@adamroth75 You know, I was surprised by how nicely the notes fit on the piano, but at the same time I found the notes to be very sparse for a keyboard piece. Of course it is difficult to judge since I have not played too many pieces that were possibly intended for the lute-harpsichord : )
I thought you were Galbraith from the thumbnail lol. Great performance overall I just think it's a bit too slow. What I like more about your version than Galbraith's is the fact that you do iterations man that bourree definitely deserves more than the 30s Galbraith puts into it, the only thing I like more from his is that he actually goes from the bourree to gigue through an anacrusa idk if Bach noted that but it was usual to start gigues with anacrusa I think.
Thanks so much! It's a custom build by Marshall Bruné. It has a new bracing system that he and his father, Richard Brune, developed. They discuss it on their website here: www.rebrune.com/experimental/
Adam Roth Outstanding! Thank you so much for sharing that with me! It really is such a beautifully balanced guitar. It sings with such purity, lush and organic with every phrase and individual note. Of course, it requires a seasoned virtuoso like yourself to harness its potential and fully reveal all those layers of excellent craftsmanship. I'm looking to buy a new guitar soon, so I'll definitely try to get my hands on one of these beauties and try it out.
Generally I consult both the Koonce and Willard editions although for this one I think I drew primarily from the Koonce, with my own modifications as needed.
3:08 allemande
5:08 courante
7:15 sarabande
9:57 bourree
11:24 giga
isnt it courante ?
Yes it is. Probably was a mistake.
Merci mon pote Tobi !

Thank you bud!
This piece is another reminder that though his music: Bach lived before us, lives throughout our whole lives, and will live long after we are gone.
added you to my 'Bach' playlist.....my morning routine.....if you start a day with Bach.....well, its the best way to begin the day......
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
You can start a day with Bach, but never finish on the Bach, always finish on Debussy.
