Can you import logs as a low cost commodity and then convert them into higher priced commodities like planks, bows, and shields? If you can do that, then you could avoid having to have so many families to produce lumber of your own and also the risk of deforestation in your own towns. If not possible to import logs, then maybe planks and save the logs for construction only.
Yeah, that definately sounds like a good strategy! I would just recommend spending development points for better trade deals then that could be a really cool strategy to utilise families in other areas😊
By putting all crops to rye, does it impact happiness in the way that another variety of food does? In other words, would you have more happiness by having both crops - rye and wheat? Are both converted into bread?
I also saw that the Rye benefit was that it grows in poor fertility areas, but you have great fertility in Axeland compared to Goldhof.
It is better to rather only produce rye. It is a more resilient crop in low fertility as you said, so your yield is significantly more with rye rather than wheat. They produce the same product😊

If honey is fussy, why have so many families on it?
When you have upgraded burgage plots you need bigger variety of food to keep happy, so because I went the route of honey. I have to kind of push production to keep food variety up😬 wont do it again until they tweak honey production
