I am a coffee drinker but I shall now be making time for tea, such is the persuasive power of the Shuttleworth. This is the first time an advert has ever excited me. Well done Ken Worthington.
Ken Worthington is still SOLE agent to John Shuttleworth (and next door neighbour). Thats one of the most enduring relationships in show business. Fact
I discovered Yorkshire Tea by accident in my supermarket while trying to find something more palatable among the hundreds of dreck teas one has to endure in American *except for Luzianne - and that only for iced*. Delish! Then I ran out and sought to purchase it online - only to discover the unflappable and ever entertaining John Shuttleworth. . Now let's see if there's an album.
Great ad, tried to recreate it on my own keyboard from memory and created my own interpretation of the song to annoy my wife (using C, F& G chords). Love the creativity and intelligence behind this ad, it's a refreshing antidote to the inane aspirational cr@p we get from Gillette or car manufacturers who treat the public like morons whom they can dazzle with special effects or expensive production values.
I can't remember the number of times i've fixed our bloody washing line.......... Should have had a proper English cup of tea.... :0)...........these ads are so cool....soooooooo cool. ;0)
im so sorry john! i have tried yorkshire tea, 2 boxes! (not bought together i might ad, 2 journeys) but it just didnt feel right, youve to leave it much longer to brew (i think the bags restricting it) so last night in morrisons, despite the fact that pg tips carries a 34p price premium, ive gone back to pg. i tried john, i tried!

This advert is PERFECT! It's got Ken, Mary and that sort-of tutting noise John makes, here just after he takes his first sip. Love it!

He's a comedian and writer who created the character of John Shuttleworth in 1986 - all the characters are voiced by him.
He started off as 'Jilted John' in the 70s! 😀
