I had no idea they transport The Zipper intact. I've always figured they disassemble it like the other rides. Good to know! I really love this ride. It's fascinating to watch and thrilling to ride! And that sucker is INTENSE!!!
That's why most carnivals have a Zipper, as it's a 1 trailer ride versus the Sky Diver. The Sky Diver's a 2 trailer ride, but i'm more of a fan of the Sky Diver than the Zipper, even though it takes more work to set one up / tear it back down. The Zipper's cool too, just miss seeing more Sky Divers than there used to be. Ya can't beat that eye-candy the Sky Diver has when it's set up on a midway, it towers over the other rides by far! The scissor-lift frame, 16 car-like cages, awesome!
It’s definitely my favorite ride. I miss seeing skydivers. I love the zipper too! Especially the older zippers like this one with the tire drive and diamond center. Also the skywheel is another miss too.
The ride company who used to do our county fair had the best rides, a Zipper, Rock-o-plane, and a Skydiver, which they would alternate with an AstroWheel, one year they would bring the Skydiver, then the next, bring the AstroWheel. I was lucky enough to ride the AstroWheel, of only 9 were made, but you don't see a lot of Skydivers any more. I think only 85 were built.
This is one of the reasons the Chance Zipper is such a popular ride with the moving carnivals...The entire ride can be stowed as you have just seen with the cars still attached, as opposed to complete or partial disassembly of a good number of other rides...
Interesting that 85 total Sky Divers were built. I wish more shows now days had one, but a lot of them want the 1 trailer rides that are easy up & down.
Every year I ride the zipper 30 times. And I try to get a higher number every year. Haha it's really fun ride but scetchy as fuck. The carnies don't give a shit if you die or the little latch is about to fall out. Haha you gotta have guys to ride that ride I tell you. Haha
@sfmom1000 well yeah the ride brand new costs alittle over $500,000.00 but yeah your right the only way for me to have one is winning the lottery but for now i'll just enjoy rideing them

The only things that come off are two cages. One at each end. Then the other cages all get tucked inside the boom. 💕

I would consider buying this ride too, when I do buy one of these zippers, I'm riding it everyday until it dies out

Me too but it'll probably just be a model. I have a Zipper T-Shirt and a poster coming in the mail though.

I wonder how the chance zipper ride would feel to those who would ride it if it were operated while lying down.
It probably tip or shake the trailer
There's only one way to find out!
the worst ppart about setting one of these up is wresting the tubs into place when ya extend them out

Each Zipper tub has 3 latches holding the door shut.
