Actually the Funlock threads very similar to the the one I showed. The tension discs are smaller but if you go by what I showed in this video you should be able to do it. I don't have access to a Funlock serger otherwise I would be glad to do a video on it
80/12 universal this was for regular cotton fabric but you might check your machine info. Some sergers take a different needle brand made for their serger. There can be a slight difference in the scarf at the back of the needle. When serging 4 threads both needles need to be the same size - Also depending on the fabric you might need a ballpoint for knits or heavier fabrics may need a different size also.
I don't know which serger you have but if you take it to a dealer they might be able to fix the foot or replace it. Before you take it maybe try blowing out the port where you plug the foot control in - maybe something has made it so the plug isn't going all the way in.
Double check your needle positions. If the thread is not picking up at all it is probably because the needles are not all the way up. It's easy to not get them all the way into position
Follow the chart inside the door, they must be threaded in exact sequence as diagram. If not, they won’t form a chain stitch, they’ll just be four separate threads.
I am not positive which thread is your "red" as brands use different colors. My guess is it's the lower looper as that is usually the one that misbehaves. Thread the upper looper first, then the lower looper and then the 2 needles. A problem often happens when the needles are threaded and the lower looper breaks. If you just thread the lower looper again there is thread that forms a loop from the needle threads under the plate where you can't see it. Unless you thread the needles last or lift the threads out from under the needle plate before you start sewing the looper thread will break. Hope that info is helpful.
Thank you sooooo much! This is extremely helpful. My mother in law gave me this serger, and once I broke the thread, I was really stuck. Many thanks!!

I think my foot pedal is not working. I plug it in, the lights come on but nothing happens when I push on the pedal.

Well explained, however I’m not able to make any stitch. Can you please help?
