Gomo - Feeling Alive (Video Oficial)

Before the existence of UA-cam, Gomo and Rui de Brito already predicted that, in the future, there would have to be ways to create videos with impact, without spending a lot of money. The result became a success and before the term viral became something common in our lives, in terms of digital access, in the past, this was not possible. You could only watch music videos through television or DVD. Now, with UA-cam, this is part of our reality. BEHIND THE STORY: Feeling Alive is the video that would mark the beginning of Gomo's entire career, but which could have been responsible for its premature end. Gomo had signed with Universal as an artist and needed to record a video to promote his first single which, according to the label, should be another song and with a director chosen by the same. In addition to deciding on another single, Gomo also risked giving Rui de Brito (a longtime friend of Gomo and former guitarist in his first band - Fragmentos) the chance to make the video for "Feeling Alive". With reduced means and only with the help of friends, they managed to produce a video that was not authorized by the publisher, but which would mark an entire generation. This video would become the first video by a Portuguese musician, promoted by the MTV television network, at a time when this was the most important channel in the world for the dissemination of music and, that alone, tells us the impact it had on the musical medium. Thanks to him, Gomo would be nominated for the MTV Europe awards and would become internationally known, which allowed him to extend his tour outside Portugal. Now, it's easy to see that this video was not only brilliant, but also premonitory of what would happen in the future, with the creation of UA-cam.
