Qari 58 30th International Quran Competition

The first Quran Competition in Iran was held in 1983. Back then, contenders from Muslim countries gathered in the Iranian capital, Tehran, to take part in the 1st international Quran competition sponsored by the Endowment and Charity affairs Organization.
The main objectives of the competition were to encourage the public to read the Holy Quran, to act upon its teachings, and to create a platform to discuss and exchange ideas about issues in the Muslim world.
The 31st edition of the International Quran Competition was held from May 26 to June 2 in Tehran. Quranic scholars and a number of officials from Muslim countries attended the opening ceremony of the 31st edition of the International Quran Competition.
More than 110 reciters and memorizers from 75 world countries took part in last year's international Quran competitions.
