@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt I had to agree with another poster , that your craftmanship is so good, I can only congratulate you on your patience and continued work on your new boat .
I have watched you since the start of Slow Patrol and now through this new refit. The amount of work both outside the boat and inside are astonishing hard work and so enjoyable to have watched your persoverance and skill. I constantly feel we should know more about you , maybe a book inside you somewhere, your relationships, your children and the career you once had. You are a fascinating person. The new boat when finished will be one of the best on the waterways I have no doubt. Two things I want to say . Firstly protecting the kitchen work surfaces can be achieved using clear glass cutting/chopping items that can be purchased from most good stores. I have two large ones in my kitchen in my small renovated cottage on the Dorset coast and they do not mark and protect the marble surface of the units well without hiding the art of the marble. Secondly I am sure you will find a way to dim the lighting in that new unit you have made. If you can't no one can. My best wishes.
I agree about the Art Deco look of your boat thus far. Very nice, James! Keep up the good work. You are going to have quite the showpiece when you are done. I also agree with what others have said, that your carpenter skills are improving by the minute. All the best from Missouri.
A classic design! You could stain the inside walnut and then it wouldn’t be so bright. But it’s a personal choice and you’ll figure it out. You have outdone yourself with this project. Thank you for sharing your experience
Great work James. It occurred to me that if I had a £ for every time you’ve said “Trim” since day one, I could buy Sloe Patrol 😂 Keep up the great work mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Since I've been watching you I've seen how your ability has grown. How you used to do stuff is decidedly primative to how you do stuff now, as is the quality! You may not have intended it. but you're turning into quite a competent outfitter of boats, mate. More power to you, it's a pleasure to watch your skills grow.
@@cherylburton3430 it was lovely to meet you too. After waiting for 4hrs I didn’t get any oasis tickets - gutted. I hate the ticket system in this country - anyway - maybe see you over the weekend
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt I failed as well. It was stupid because I'd of gone for any venue or date and the queue I was in crashed out and I couldn't get back into it. I'm on a campsite in North Wales this week keeping out of the way of my 16 year old twins.
James you need an air pin gun gets rid of screws. Shame about the leds but hey ho easy rectified. Use dabs of superglue between the wood glue gets rid of loads of clamps. Looks very good.
Looks very nice James, your woodworking skills have come on a long way. 👌 Just a bit of a note. I think the altered time video format ruins it a bit. Seeing the final result at the start, takes away the surprise of the final result.. Just a suggestion 👍
Please give some thought to getting “professional” help / advice with your upholstery and curtains as it won’t be too long before you will need to work out what you need. Your efforts on Sloe Patrol were clearly working against a budget, but spray gluing seat covers and uneven curtains which ended up on Sloe Patrol will spoil all the good work you have done so far.
@@derekrobinson2295 I will be given some help by someone who knows about upholstery this time for sure, not too far away from needing that now which is great
Hey, James, the moment the lights come on is amazing ✨; it feels like everything is complete, and it looks beautiful 😍
I love your work James it is going to be an amazing narrowboat.
Your best bit yet, your crafting has improved so much, great job.
Quite Art Deco as it turns out. You have every reason to be proud of your efforts James.
That unit looks great James. A little art deco 😊 Personally I prefer it without the lights.
That's lovely James--really a beautiful result.
For me , this piece you built has overtones of Art Deco . the curves especially and the wood used . I LOVE it James. Please do some more .
@@rubberdc I had to apologise to Rob as it’s pretty close to what he has on his boat. I do like the art deco look so I’ll make some more if I can

Love it. The lights are fine and will be even better wonce you put some things on the shelf.
😊🤗 Kathy

Looking better every week, James. 👍
Crack on!
All the best, mate.
What a lovely unit. The interior of this boat is going to be fabulous 👌 😊
@@catherine3902 thanks - I’m hoping it going to look good but let’s see how the rest goes
Thanks
That looks perfect! I'm sure the lights will be sorted :)

The shelves look great James, love the trim. The different lights are growing on me.
Great job mate
Nice idea with the rounded ends of the sapele strips.
Tip: your router is called a trim router for a reason!
I love the James size mistakes... We learn a ton watching you..
The boat is stunning!
Wow! Just WOW!!!!!
Looking good James, put a wireless charging pad under the top will make a sleek cable free way to charge up ur phone
FAB James! 👌💜
what about covering the LEDs with some tape or tracing paper to defuse the light?
It’ll still be the wrong colour - I’ll change the bulb at some stage
looks great. you should be pleased.
You've done good there James, a very well done from me.
Nice!!
damn that looks good. Not sure if I prefer the yellow light more
Great job as usual James 👍
That's real class James
I think you should have put up a Sepele counter😀
That would have been way beyond my skills and budget I feel !!
Good to see the progress in person, lovely to meet you. Hope you got the tickets..

very nice. good work
Very "Art deco" James. Well done!
It is all coming on nicely.
great see you put vid out thanks lee
The new piece is looking good. But the inside corners of the seat needs to be curved to maintain the curve of the seat.
That is very cool!

clever

wow it really looks so good.. you are becoming a carpenter
Again, an "Art-Deco" look to it. ;-)
Crikey James, it looks worthy of being from Alfred Dunhill. They'll be filming episodes of Poirot on board if you're not careful. Cracking work.
Look up bending wood by Ammonia James, could be a better option for you.
looks like a 1950s Diner . good for me . well done James.
