Honestly, I genuinely do believe Mario Party 1 is the most rigged MP game. You could kick ass and win every minigame, but still get screwed over by the board and somehow lose to the CPU. I got so horrifically furious that I didn’t touch the game again for a long time.
I once saw that MP 1 is actually programmed and that the winner is already chosen. From Round one the game picks what you will roll in which round etc. So this time this is truly rigged.

I love Poof but seeing him struggle with a game I demolished since age three is a bit painful. Mario Party 1 is goated, almost all the best minigames came from the first three Mario parties.
It seems you have a 100% file, and has items turned on. Check the bank to see what items you have. The reason you lost money on your turn “randomly” was because you had a minus dice. Those appear randomly, and takes the amount of coins you rolled. Great fun. The inverse is true with the plus dice, giving you the number of coins you rolled. The reason you had no coins after the mini game is because this is the only game that you can LOSE coins after certain mini games, usually after 2v2, 1v3, and single player if you lose mini games. Bowser can be ruthless in this game. His roulette is rarely beneficial to the person landing in them. The kicker is that if there’s a tie in a bowser mini game, he still takes coins from the person who lands on it, great fun. Koopa is a savior for anyone falling behind coins, because passing him nets you 10 coins. After I believe 20 people pass koopa, the next person will get 20 coins. Last 5 turns gives you 20 coins from koopa from then on. Mario Party 1 is infamous not only for its blister inducing rotating mini games but also for not being a kinda Mario party in the first place. I don’t think you’ll fair much better in MP2
