Thanks for posting this video. There are other trenchless boring machines to install pipes, but this one seems especially compact and mature in its technology. It was particularly useful to hear the limits of this machine's capabilities near the beginning, so that potential buyers would know if this was suitable for their operations. Good luck in selling lots of these.

Thanks for posting this video. I'd long wondered how these drills are steered underground. But at 2:25 , they finally reveal the secret: the end of the "drill" is cut not perpendicularly to the drill's axis, but at a sharp angle to the axis (so the drill is "chamfered"). If the drill is pushed while not rotating, it will move in the direction that's opposite to the sloped face at the end of the drill.

this was invented by Mr. Burns on the simpson's show. The episode where homer and bart strike Oil and Mr. Burns sets up the Slant Oil Drilling Company and Drills directly into Homer Simpson's oil reserve and taking out the oil until homers pipe couldn't reach the oil anymore.
