Dance Central 3 is a 2012 rhythm game developed by Harmonix and Backbone Entertainment and published by Microsoft Studios for the Xbox 360 Kinect. It is the sequel to Dance Central 2 (2011) and the third installment in the Dance Central series. It was released on October 16, 2012, in the Americas, and October 19 everywhere else.
A sequel to the game, titled Dance Central Spotlight, was released for the Xbox One Kinect on September 2, 2014.
The core gameplay for Dance Central 3 follows the same formula as the previous games in the series. One or two players must mimic what the dancer is doing on the screen with Flashcards for guidance, players earn points depending on how well they perform each move, and their score determines how many Stars they earn.
Dance Central 3 features a new mode called Crew Throwdown. In this mode, 2-8 players compete against each other. After each team poses for a crew photo, the game will choose a song and one of the four types of modes to play it in. Those modes are:
Perform: A standard mode where players dance to the routine. Occasionally, the game will stop counting points for one player and focus on the other. A minigame called "Free For All", in which players are given random moves and compete to perform them first, can appear in during a routine, and "Strike A Pose" can appear after routines.
Keep The Beat: A freestyle-esque mini-game where players stay in beat to the song for points. Consecutive positive ratings and more unique moves will give the players more points.
Strike A Pose: A minigame where players mimic the poses the characters are doing for points. Performing more moves in a row increases the number of points players can get. If a player misses a pose, they have to wait for a short period of time before they can start posing again.
Showdown: This mode functions the same way as Perform with the exception of who plays against who. In this final round, as opposed to the game choosing someone from each team, any player from each team can face off against each other.
The game also has a new Live Challenge feature. In this mode, players can compete to beat scores set by other players connected to Xbox Live.

StepMania X vibes!
I have played this game in some mall here in Brazil before, it runs in a Xbox360 with some modded stuff with a Kinect sensor, the Kinect was working great in the arcade I went. The machine itself it's not official, it's probably from china and there is not that much information about this.
Btw if I'm not wrong, this is the same company that did that bootleg pump it up.
Yeah! They made some variations of this cabinet, and a version of Dance Super Station. They sell their products on Alibaba, you can see them by searhcing for 'epark'
0:50 the countdown and credit text font is awkward, maybe it just an overlay on top of real xbox 360 video output

6:34, when loading text appear, it seems they auto back into main menu then maybe, showing a looping video clip in the overlay.

This cab is basically just a direct port of DC3 for the Xbox 360 but running on a modded 360 with arcade PCB. Literally saw photos of the DC3 Alibaba cabs running XEX Menu confirming that the Xbox they use is JTAG'd so they can pirate and put any game they want in there lol, this explains why all of the custom DLC stuff is on here still and why it can't connect to Xbox Live. They wouldn't of been able to get the DLC's if this is a new cab due to Harmonix servers shutting down for DC years ago LOL. Other than that you could literally just pick up DC3 for £2 from CEX and its basically the same game. There was a DC3 cab for sale in Bolton infact for £5k from the owner of GameVault arcade, asked the dude for more info about it as i was genuinely curious.
Thanks for covering this topic! There _was_ one _Dance Central 3_ machine in Canada, in the small town of Carleton Place, but I never got to play it, and I think that arcade went out of business.
I believe I didn't miss out on much. Unlike _Dance Evolution Arcade_ or _Dance Around_ or similar, this is an unofficial arcade game with an Xbox 360, and a very rough credit and timer sister. It reminds me of those bootleg _DDR Extreme_ machines at Namco, which used the PS2 home version.
I would consider _StepManiaX_ to be better than _DC3._ My only complaint is that there are only 15 _SMX_ machines in Canada, and maintenance is hit or miss. For a game that's over 7 years old, I'd like to see it improve.

They make a portable version of this cabinet too, kinda like how the original ReRave looked. Some of the bigger companies won't sell to certain parts of the world, so it's interesting seeing machines like this where it seems like Alibaba is the only place to buy from.
It's kinda just like Dance Evolution but with some hacked together things to make it arcade playable. It's pretty interesting!

@@s34nvideos No, in Punta del Este there is a shopping center that has an arcade and has this machine, I was looking for information about this machine for a while and I didn't find much, it's great that you make these things visible.
There is also a Dance Super Station that the arrows don't work near that place.

This is definitely running on Xbox with a PCB to manage credits and make the game feel like arcade.

that's because it runs xbox 360 inside with a "chinese controller board/overlay" to make it shows credit and countdown timer. i don't think stepmania x is running android inside
