    nice work, ive been trying to build a very fast lego car for a while, i know it needs to be low, light weight, lots of grip and torque, and be arrow dynamic. the problem is my goal is to only use lego, which means im using lego motors

    • @alternativeengineering6220
      @alternativeengineering6220  6 років тому

      Nateolater Very nice, i also started using multiple lego motors but it's expensive for the provided power. You can visit my website and download a car instruction if you need some ideas for a working system.

    that looks like an Art-Tech RC brushless motor. I had one on my RC Cessna 182.

      Ding :3 hey,
      The motor seen in the video is a tower pro 1580kv. At the moment i only the sunnysky 2207 2100kv on all 4 cars.

      Brickolo _ would you call a car made out of wood a “wood car” if it had a v8 engine inside? Doubt it

    • @brickolo_
      @brickolo_ 5 років тому

      The Proclaimed I would in fact count it as a wood car since the whole chassis and mechanics would be made of wood.

    For a lego rc car thats INSANE, but you use Brushless power just like I do😎 I own a professional hobbygrade rc speedrun car. It has a 750 watt motor and it does 71.4 mph (114,8) kmh. It takes many many hours to make an rc car go 100+ kmh. I can imagine it took forever to build this one. So again, props to you for building a lego car that can go this fast. Subbed you :)

    • @alternativeengineering6220
      @alternativeengineering6220  6 років тому +1

      RC4LIFE Thank you very much!:) Thats exactly the thing i love about building high performance Lego cars. It's not easy and takes improvements after improvements to work like this. It also depends less on spent money than on construction.

    • @rc4life860
      @rc4life860 6 років тому +2

      Alternative Engineering exactly! Rc speedrun cars are are true work of art :) especially if you made one yourself from lego like you did

    • @alternativeengineering6220
      @alternativeengineering6220  6 років тому +1

      I started my RC passion with normal RC cars and didn't like just throwing out money and not constructing my self. It's also much cheaper to maintain because every time you break something on a real RC car it costs 40+€ and I am changing a 15cent Lego part :)

    • @rc4life860
      @rc4life860 6 років тому +1

      Alternative Engineering haha yep parts can be very expensive. I have driveshafts on my Rustler that cost €85, so if I lose those, its an expensive repair. But again its all about fun nomatter the price

    good idea but the gears will break after some driving i guess ? because they are not made for that speed and power of a brushless motor

    • @alternativeengineering6220
      @alternativeengineering6220  6 років тому +1

      Hi,
      No the cars are constructed to deal with that power :) My older cars are 4 years old and are driven weekly.
      Visit my website to take a look at the RS2.1 it's 4 years old and still the same car as seen in the pictures.

    id love to see it in something like rally, but not going into hills etc...
    I mean like speeding in flat dirt road :P
    Ik that it would harm a little bit the system bc dirt would go into de differentials and make a mess
    but it would be cool to see anyways.Keep it up! :D

    Hmm, maybe try FWD for less transmission losses and less weight, (FWD because more stable), remove spoiler xd, maybe add some panels for better aero, also in the end maybe make it RWD and so some drifting :D

    • @alternativeengineering6220
      @alternativeengineering6220  6 років тому

      FiNiTe Hey, transmission loses are uninteresting, because the power of more than 0,5 bhp is enough to drive 100km/h. I already made some drift videos look at my channel :) The spoiler is necessary for orientation😅

    • @alternativeengineering6220
      @alternativeengineering6220  6 років тому

      MsCars 25 Hey cool to hear :) i don't have a secret trick its just improving after improving. 1 main aspect is that i was able to make it 4WD which splits the power 50:50 on 2 axles and differentials.

      I know this because I've made my own Lego technic high speed car with a 80turn brushless motor powered by an arduino and controlled by a PS3 Remote Control pad... and yes they like to melt lol - so I have to replace the parts every so often

    ive got a question if i may ask:
    How bad is the wear of the gearing (if you understand me)
    since the gears are turning fast really quickly, i assume the gears are being damaged over time (?)
    Ive done a similar project too, and my drive shaft gear (the dark grey one/differential) was damaged a little
    but after seeing this video, im going to continue my project with some better parts :D
