Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall. The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.

It amazes me sometimes that people don’t get this like you do. A few months back I had some people who owned a business that uses 3 semis. I quoted them $75 per semi which includes an exterior wash, clean of the nasty vinyl seats, clean the nasty vinyl flooring, and of the super gross dash with old ketchup and stuff dried on. Then they said well the guy we had before did it for $35. They said this after they complained that he scratched the paint on their personal vehicles and the aforementioned semis. (The reason why I quoted that was because me and my buisiness partner have the process down so that we can have the whole job done perfectly in 3-4hrs).

Hey Brother, Justin from Organ Mountain Detailing here. I have been in business now for about 15 months and let me tell you, I had to raise my prices. There were no ifs, ands, or buts about it. When I started out, I was charging anywhere from $50 to $150 and these were big jobs. If people see the quality of your work and BELIEVE in you and what you are capable of doing for them, they will gladly pay whatever you charge. I really enjoy your videos. You have a good way of showing the day-to-day struggles of detailing and everything that goes into your business. Keep up the good work. God bless.

I started detailing last month and my starting prices were 70$ for a full detail, I had no idea what I was getting myself into and I slowly moved my prices up. That’s because I knew the kind of work I was doing was good, I was confident in it. Time from time I get people complaining that it’s too high and there’s others who will do it for cheap (I live in AZ and we got lots of mobile retailers) . The competition is tough out there tbh and sometimes I wonder if I should charge that much.

I always charge a price that causes pain to the customer. This is how I screen the ones that just want cheap work. I position myself as a business that offers high quality detailing services. If I feel like I over charged them, I have the integrity to give some of the money back. They are usually super excited about this and end up referring me to their family and friends. Keep up the solid work my guy!
I charge 160- 210 for just a wash and wax for small vehicles.
190-300 for wash on large vehicles.
Interior is basically around the same. So if someone wants a full detail I usually make around 400-600
Anytime I use my polisher for any paint correction its an additional 200-400 for small vehicles.
400-800 for larger vehicles ON TOP of the wash and wax service.
Ive only been in business for about a year.

We’re completely mobile too. Started this January. Just raised our prices for the first time last week. Something we had been wanting to do but were nervous. However, we realized that even in the small amount of time we had been detailing, we knew which clientele we wanted to aim towards. We also know what our quality is worth when comparing the amount of time we spend on vehicles to others. It’s been great so far - we’ve told our repeat clients & they continued to book again. When changing pricing, We did account in the fact that we are mobile - when at first we were just doing pricing to get clients and get our foot in the door. We have received comments in the past about the pricing even when it was low - for some reason some people think mobile should be less instead of more? We provide convenience and that is a luxury that comes at a price. Love the videos! My names Ashley & and my boyfriend/business partner, Danny, was born and raised in Sacramento! We are currently in Georgia though, where I’m from.

Best thing I could ever tell new detailers when starting out: tell everyone they're getting a "limited time rate" or "first-time customer discount" for a good year or two. That way they expect the raised prices for the next one but are happy to be getting a "discounted rate" for the current job, and if you don't end up raising prices quite yet, you can say you're going to "do them a favor and give them another job at a discounted rate" to curry favor with consistent customers. Makes you look good no matter what, and the customers think they're getting great treatment but have consistent expectations of it costing more next time.

In the end i want to make a bare minimum of $400/day. I mostly work by myself and maintain a full time night job as well. Keep those prices set in stone. Don’t cut yourself down too just get the customer they will eventually come around.

This doesnt include polishing or paint correction though. Interior starts $100. Mold starts at $400. Wash $60(2 vehicles minimum). Paint correction 1step starts $200. 2 step starts $350. 3 step starts $500

I really like how @detailgroove here on youtube said he raises his pricing. He will adjust his new pricing and then if he has a previous customer he honors the old pricing and then informs them in person that the next time the prices will be updated to his new pricing seems like it keeps everyone happy and to me seems like a good way to keep customers coming back!
People saying they want one thing but mean another is so common in the service industry. Terms/services are not 100% universal. I work in bicycle repairs and people will say they want a full Tune-Up on their bicycle that starts at $75 but in reality, they want one thing adjusted and it's only $15. Or one companies "basic" wash is cheaper but it includes less than your "basic" wash, it's defiantly knowing the competition and good communication, we will often pull up the competition's website and show what they get in comparison to ours along with our 40+ years of experience.

You have to loose some customers to make room for your better paying ones. Then you can do less cars and not wear yourself and your crew out while still making the same amount. Make engine detailing an up sale not included and don't cut your price. Be sure to use carpet and cloth seat protector if you are on a vehicle you are certain you will be detailing again. Use protectant on every repeat it will help you get the car done faster next time.

I started my car wash in 2019, on a strip that had 4 other car washes on it, I was just on the other end. You are right about competitive pay and trying to find your sweet spot. What I can say is, if you are profiting off your old price of $75/$85/$100 then make your money off just that. Basic washes and maybe spray on wax. The real “full details” make it your new pricing. Saves you time and chemicals if you go do a regular car for $75. Basic wash, wipe down, spray on wax, boom out of there. When it comes to shampoo, extraction , buffer,/real wax that’s where your money come in. I’m in a small town that’s surrounded by plenty car washes and other small towns, I had to compete with ones that’s been established 10 years or better. I dropped my price to something that was reasonable for me. I cleared $1500-$2000 a week just by having the lowest price, my tips alone made it seem like I was charging $50-$80 a car when I was only charging $30. Best of luck to you my brother I been watching you and learning from you as well as I start my launch of my mobile car wash.

Gotta look at price VS value. Price is what it costs. Value: what you get out of it. Having a clean detailed car. You have people in it. People see ya pull up on it. You feel better in a clean car.
I’ve been in sales 9 years and I learned price is only a concern in the absence of value.
When they say it’s a lot of money don’t fight back. Agree. You’re right it is a lot of money. Everyone who’s gotten a detail has said the same thing. And you know what? They love the detail after and say it’s worth it 😎 💵

I also have 3 packages. The trick is to have the 2nd package close to the third package. The last package is $389. Most will pick package 2 and 3. When they see the last package isn't to far off, they will think I mind as well get package 3. The last package doesn't seem as bad to them.

Back in the early 2000's I worked at a detail shop and the owner used to price by the condition of the car. He would tell customers he'd give a rough estimate over the phone then the real price once he saw the car. Over the phone he's ask the year and exterior & interior color. An old black car with tan cloth interior would cost more than a new grey car with black leather.

As being self employed one key thing I learned was dont ever undercut your ownself, know your worth and dont set to compete with the competition, set a price that makes you feel good waking up in the morning saying to your self you love what you do as opposed to having to work and losing that passion, your work speaks for itself and returning clients will always value your work. Those who are price shopping generally dont value the work, they're only looking to save money.

It’s easy for all these ppl to say “raise your prices don’t be scared “ because its not them who have to worry about feeding mouths and paying rent and etc. Raising prices in this industry is critical reason being is because there is sooo many detailiers out there and even more now that are starting off who will charge a fraction of what your charging. Keep it simple i charge for a full detail on a sedan $200 suvs and trucks $225-$250 and then i tell them when im leaving if you want to pay less in the future i offer Maintenance details for $125-$150 when you say “maintenance” that lets them know they better call you sooner than later. The real money is in the ceramic coatings and paint corrections start promoting that more that way while your doing $1500-$2000 ceramic coatings your brother or crew can handle the regular detailing side of the buisness.

Hey Hunter on the topic of your "on condition" pricing; please start asking for photos. You can save yourself from a lot of unsatisfied clients. Ask for photos to assess the condition of interiors and give your price before showing up. Even if people end up paying a price higher than expected, they may feel "trapped" because they know you've already shown up and spent money on gas.

I'm in the fabricating business, but my daughter wants to do something like this. I would say $150 standard - quick wash for an overall shine, and a complete vacuum of interior with an overall wipe down that leaves it looking clean with a shine...advertise a perfect glass finish. I'd say forget the $80 exterior + $xx for interior, etc...I'd try to make $150 the flat rate for yourself and forget about the smaller stuff. I would think most people just want a reset and have $150 pocket money to set themselves up for another 3-6 months. What do you think?

The best tip and way to make sure you’re not pricing your self out of any Detailing job would be to research Detailing Im your area, don’t be the most expensive and don’t be the cheapest, try to set yourself right in the middle and then let your quality of work do the speaking for you. Not to sound like an a** but if I get a customer that states “that’s too expensive or I can get someone to do it for less” all I say is “no worries, my prices are based off my quality of work and based on customers I have, I’m priced accordingly”. With all the marketing that you do, you’ll always find customers, now you just gotta make sure you’re finding the ones that are willing to pay the raised prices.
