    no need to calculate it, we can know that just by observing that 0.12 can't get the integral number 1 with in the first three or four multiplications.

    how do you convert 0.01 binary to decimal? i'm getting an answer of 0.25 decimal but I just cant grasp how to calculate to that result

      You suppose to multiply each term like this
      0.01
      = 0x2^(-1) + 1x2^(-2)
      = 0 + 1x1/4
      = 0.25
