    Hey there love sweet potato time at bumble bee junction 😁.
    I've been topping off my beds with the peat moss and blk kow this year b cuz I hadn't been able to pick up my garden soil from the landscape place I normally get it from. My question is with the peat moss should I or shouldn't I be adding some garden lime? I forgot to put some in one of my beds and I already planted some bush beans in it should I go back and scratch some in the bed.

    • @BumbleBeeJunction
      @BumbleBeeJunction  3 роки тому +3

      Sure, you can just add it back in like a surface feeding and it will water in... Should not be a problem at all... And peat is not as acidic as some say... But lime helps sweeten the soil, and is always good since it contains calcium as well... To which you can add some epsom, which has magnesium which plants need to utilize the calcium...

    Are the slips expensive, I remember last year you planted some you started yourself, if I remember correctly you were not happy with results, smaller instead of the giant ones you pulled out of the garden Tina just planted. I also was curious do you have a well or city/town water. Tina should plant a big old blooming flower in the middle, probably something edible.

    • @BumbleBeeJunction
      @BumbleBeeJunction  3 роки тому +1

      It is 25 for $3 so we cannot complain... We use 75 for the main planter, and the harvests are usually worth the money... LOL... The main crop of sweet potatoes did fine... It was the ones we planted late that just didnt have time to really mature... We use city water, but it has been through a whole house carbon filter, as well as a water softener, before it gets to the garden... We get a lot of rain though too, so we try not to water unless we have to...
