    That's a great system, it looks like the wind was coming up a bit just in time!

      It was blowing 25 gusting to 35-40....I went solo that day. The end of the year in review video has footage of that day at the end

    Great video! I just bought a p-16 and am really flying blind. Got mast up last night but was not able to get spreaders any more than the 3-4 holes down on the chain plates, mast seems too far forward. Almost no info on line for rigging this boat. Also, are you supposed to completely remove the mast step hinge to sail or what do you do with that? Thanks!

      Yes just remove the upper hinge piece and the bracket should drop into the slot inverted side up. Im working right now, but contact me via email and I'll get you my number and ill go over everything. If not ill try to remember to write up more later this afternoon

    Chris, I just purchased a Prindle 19 and I like you rope system for pulling assisting the raising of the mast. Do you have the types of pullies, size of rope and how long you need to attach to the trapeze line? Also, I am not finding any info putting up the jib with a Harlen furler, similars to yours, specifically, how to roll the jib on and how the furler is set up before you do this. Any info would be great. Thanks

      Just some half inch yacht braid and some 75.. blocks. Its just there to hold things. You could get away with some sta-set and a single 57 cam block

      On the furler i dont use a standard hook and ring. I use a full dyneema halyard. Shoot me an email cholley12 at gmail.com

      @@kevintford8222 make sure you have pads under the hulls

    One last question, on the Prindle 19. How far or what do you reference when you're putting the boat on the trailer? How far should the rear of the boat be in regards to the rubber rollers? Where do the wheels line up to the boat when you tie it down?

    • @squid0013
      @squid0013  3 роки тому +1

      The pads go directly under the beams....which are on the bulkheads

    Chris, After searching for a very long time, I have found nothing on the operation or use of the boom outhaul car, other than the warning in the manual not to untie the shock cord by the mast. My problem is, when I pull the rope to bring the car aft, it will move aft, then it will not return in the bow. Now when I loosen the rope (outhaul car rope) that pulls the care aft, I can't return the car to the direction of the bow. Seems to be locked. Am I doing wrong? Thanks

    Good resource for what can be a dangerous operation. IMO would be better if you dropped the music and talked through what you were doing. Some close ups of the mast hinge etc would add more value.

      Thanks, unfortunately you would have never been able to hear any commentary because of high wind, and im a one man operation

    How heavy is the mast? Is it reasonable for one not that fit person to raise solo? I’m 5 10 and 185lbs.

      Roughly 65-70 lbs. Im not terribly in shape, I just understand momentum and I use my whole body to get it up
