- In today's video, I provide a quick update on what's going on since I've been back in southern CA. I brainstorm getting a boat, getting the 4Runner back up for full-timing in, and provide a month out update. Hint, things are moving pretty slowly.
I’d like to end the video on a thank you to my Patron supporters. That has been my primary source of income lately, and I’ve been relying on that heavily right now, so I’d like to take a moment to truly appreciate each of my Patrons.
Check it out at / natmoran .
Definitely NOT a boring video. Thanks you for the update and great conversation! Loving the journey.
Great video, Mahalo for sharing.
I have recently started watching your videos, and I really enjoy how you keep it real. You don't edit out the hard times. Life happens good and bad and I'm glad you made it through. I hope things get easier for you soon. Thanks for keeping it real
Thank you for the encouragement. I love your videos and the many encouragements in your comments.
I started watching you when you had the Truck Camper, but whatever you decide I will still watch. May God bless you in all you do.
Thank you for the continued support! I do miss the truck camper. I wish I did it all differently, but I want to be careful because the shoulda, couldas don't do anything 😂
If I got what I wanted (a little 4wheel camper), I might still have that white f250! 😂😂 I loved that old truck.
@@NatMoran I like the old ones also. My truck is a 98 GMC and my camper is a 94 Challenger. Between the two I have about 5 grand total and love them. I have pics on my website.
I look at things that don't work out as life lessons, as my grandpa used to say suck it up buttercup and move on..lol I loved than man. You'll find what's right for you. I like the box truck idea. I would love to build one of those out.
I did too, meaning I’ve watched her that long. And I also try to look at all the decisions I’ve made as course corrections. You learn from all decisions and you make the best choices you can based on the info you had at the time.
Nat you are a breath of fresh air 😊 good things are coming your way.
Thank you!
No matter when we roam, there is no place like home. It is wonderful to see that smile return. Being back home has done wonders for you. Thanks for taking us along. A wonderful video.
Lovin your outlook through this update! Praying for you as you seek His will and the next adventure!
YOU are an "Overcomer" & true Inspiration!
California with its stunning weather all year, diverse in geography (mountains and deserts like az with more green and less hot, and the coasts oh my..), rich in culture and there are so many beautiful places in California no wonder why so many people like to visit. I will definitely explore it in the future, Not live there though:) Thanks sis for sharing your journey with us. Your dad is super cool too.
Nice video, thanks for the encouragement. Hope people continue to lift you up and encourage you as well.
Thank you for your wonderful video n thank you for showing Pike and Egron. They are enjoying your tiny pool. Happy you’re trusting God in your life. Your family is your best support system n it’s really good your home. Thank you, Nat
The video wasn't boring at all! Just nice to see how you're doing and get an update. I love seeing the dogs, too. It will be interesting to see where life takes you next. You're such an impressive young lady!
Thank you so much! I am so thankful for all the time I've had with my boys.
It was bittersweet to see the footage including Jethro. I’m so glad you have those, though. agron was so cute in his pool! Pike is so patient to put up with him, lol.
Girl.... You know. :(
@@NatMoran yeah, I do… I don’t have the words to express it.
Each week I look forward to another video and how you tackle life's challenges while relying on our Lord to see you through...knowing that He's gonna see you through. Thanks for sharing! Blessings!
It's great to see that you are planning, happy and optimistic! You are living the free life that a lot of us only dream about. I'm excited to see what your next adventure looks like.
I love your dogs. Just take time and you will figure it all out. You have a supportive dad. Your faith will guide you through this.
Those parents of mine are pretty cool. I'm thankful they let the dogs and I crash for a few weeks. It's always wonderful to see them. I see them more now they're on the west coast. When in KY I saw them only a couple times a year.
Amazing episode! It’s good to stop and reflect every now and then. Thank you for all the great content and the positivity that comes from the episode.
I’m on a solo RV trip with my dogs. My whole exhaust system fell out and my back tires ran over it. Waiting until Monday to be towed. We also in southern AZ are triple digits. Before this happened I was walking my dogs and rolled my foot. Iced, elevated and wrapped. Making life right now a struggle. Monday can hurry,
My struggle bus could be much worse. As all of ours can be. Hoping to find the message in the mess. God bless Nat
Hope you will be okay.
That sounds like something that would happen to me!!! I hope you found some joy in those crazy moments. I feel like it comes in waves ... like ok what next!? Really!? Lol. I hope you're doing better now!?
Love your beautiful attitude! Keep holding on to your faith and God has more adventures planned for you 😊
Looking forward to where your journey takes you.
Always encouraged by your outlook, where your hope comes from is obvious! Blessings as you figure out your next!
Thank you so much!!
Can't wait to see what the next chapter is!! Living on a boat is my all time dream!! I even bought a sail boat a few years ago to learn how to sail!! Anyways so awesome to see ur subscribers ramping up!! 🤙
I don't think I have enough money to live on a boat unless I go Tom Hanks in cast away 😂😂😂 I mean, being stuck on an island like that wouldn't be the WORST thing to happen... I suppose. 😂😂😂
Sorry I missed your birthday! It looks like you guys had fun, though. See you in a few weeks!
I'm glad you went home because my anxiousness for you was increasing with your videos.
Oh, I don't want to cause anxiety for you! I'm doing okay! The dogs and I are safe. 🤗🤗
A great dog mom….. need to be back on the road, love to see you get another trailer, built for off-road, hard side, you got this, Charlie Mike!!!
I needed this comment. Thank you.
Good to see you happier!!
Kisses for Pike and Egron!! 🙌😘🇧🇷
Looks like you were in Carlsbad, where I lived many years! Your description of seasonal change/adjustment is key to the journey 😊
Nat, wow! Needed this! Just got out of the hospital (A-fib, 3days.) feeling sorry for myself. Your words of encouragement were much needed. We will both be fine, you're right, life is always changing. Know you'll have fun with your friends @ Brian's place. Much love to you.
I am so sorry to hear about a-fib for 3 days. That doesn't sound fun at all! Are you doing okay now? I'll keep you in my prayers and hope you continue to get stronger each day. 🤗 you're so right, we both will be okay! That's such a good reminder to hold on to!
@@NatMoran They did an ablation, restarted/reset my heart. much better now. Thank you for the prayers, always have hope.
I'am so happy where are you so happy Nat 😊😊

Another great video! 👍
I’m about to embark on a solo trip from Florida to Colorado with my teardrop and really appreciate the inspiration. ❤️🙏✝️
Hey Nat, I'm happy to see your positive outlook on life !!! Have you looked at or considered a school bus converted into a camper ? People make them into crazy nice campers !!! Or maybe a Tear Drop Camper, some real nice ones out there !!!
Hey girl! You do you. You know best what you and your pack need. Im still gonna be watching. In Christ, Denise
Thank you so much!!! 🖤🖤
Hi Nat Great Video and Happy Saturday 🙂
Hey naturally. Your video again was done perfect!!!The editing was spot on. I laughed when you forgot the leash? And I always leave and extra in the truck. Thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning and for always being positive with any obstacle you have come across. I will be in quartzite this winter??? Hopefully see you there. Your buddy ric in nor cal
I seem to forget the leash a lot when I'm out of my element. I think I'm just so accustomed to have everything with me :P I don't know where I'll be this winter. My life just took, yet, another turn (video to come in a couple weeks), so I'm just trying to keep my feet moving forward.
The content is fine, you can't just show the good times, you have to show the realities too!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this!
What are your thoughts on the Airstream Basecamp 16x? They’re very sturdy and the Forerunner could tow it. Previously owned they’re fairly affordable, purchased outside of California. I’ll watch whatever you decide. Just want you safe and happy.
I'd love an airstream Basecamp. I've heard nothing but good things about the quality of airstream. I appreciate the support! I'm excited to find something ... hopefully soon. 🤗
So much love for what you are going through. I believe in fate and what happens is meant to be. We are stronger than we think. Trust your faith.
That being said, may I suggest looking into a teardrop trailer? Not the tiny ones but they actually have ones that you can stand up in and have all the amenities you need heater, air, refrigerator even bathrooms. Good-sized bed and the table/bed would be perfect for the dogs.
Of course you would have to go used. But I bet you can find a good deal. They all would be very towable with your forerunner. All assembled, just park and you would be set up.
I have been looking at the stand-up ones, I do like the simplicity!
Awesome video
Lots of decisions. I sure can’t try to tell you what you should do, only what I would do if I was 30y younger. 5’x8’ or 10’ cargo trailer build. Basic, basic! Raise the axel and built shock hangers with reduced capacity springs. In the early 1980s I build a small 4’x6’x1.5’ trailer for us to drag while tent camping. Used 1967 Camaro rear springs and S10 pickup front shocks. AWESOME ride. But made me wish I’d built it 5’X8’x6’(H). But as family grew we have been at the mercy of popup and travel trailer manufacturers. Just some thoughts from an old man! Enjoyed your video! Take care! Good luck!
This is awesome! I love hearing about what you'd do. Thank you for providing me some insights!
Always love your videos Nat. Never boring. My husband and I just retired and are looking for a camper to travel in so we would be living in it a few weeks at a time. Have you looked at a Casita? They are made of fiberglass, top part, bottom part so they don't leak and they are also light. Also looked at Sunrays that are nice and easy to tow. Wishing you much luck on your journey ahead. Take care!
Thank you for saying it wasn't boring! I made a last-minute edit to the video last night, and I was rushing to get it uploaded in time. 😂 I would love a fiberglass trailer. I've been trying to find a scamp in my budget, but I'm finding that both casitas and scamps tend to be right out of reach (80s models). I'm trying to be patient. Before I left my corporate job, I almost bought a sunray. They're pretty cool, too!
I like the platform, but I definitely will lower it a few inches. The idea of the drawers is perfect. This will be the first step on my build. 👍
I think it's 10in high, and I might go to 6-7 inches and see how I do. Right now, I can't sit comfortably inside, and the dog hair goes all over the ceiling. 😂😂
@@NatMoran ill let you know how it turns out. 👍
May the Lord soon show you were to go next 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I'm currently in a 5'x8' aluminum trailer, lighter than your A-frame was, so it's an easy tow. After watching a lot of minivan/campervan builds, I'm borrowing ideas to upgrade to a convertible bed/sofa with small kitchen, then use the pickup for storage. I have a 12' Clam tent for addition outdoor space, in case the weather isn't ideal. Maybe an enclosed trailer with a simple build will work for you??
I actually had one (never filmed it), but it dropped my mpg down to 6 on average, so I sold it. It's a good option, though! I might reconsider. 🤗
@@NatMoran Yee-ouch! That's quite a drop. My trailer takes 4-5 mpg off my average, but not to a hard 6! Best of luck, Nat. I know life is rocky right now, mine is too. I find the "how to work through it all" videos more helpful than "how to have a blast". Take care, be well.
@natmoran - I have been searching for a small trailer for a while (I can only pull 1500 lbs with my Forester). The one I keep coming back to is made completely of fiberglass, you stand up in it, it has A/C and electric standard and you can add a bunch of other things to it. Rouser from Runaway Campers is 6' x 8' and weighs under 1000 lbs as mentioned. Nothing in it except a 10" shelf across the front, the 2 electrical power strips, and the A/C through the wall in front, so you can design it how you want to. It does have big 30" windows too. New costs less than $10,000 without all the add-ons, but less than $15,000 with almost all of the add-ons.
The other recent find is a GO from Sylvan Sport, and they do have a beefy GO All-Terrain (GOAT). Both have a tent attached to a utility trailer. The tent folds out to have 2 beds off to either side & they can be connected in the middle to create a king & 1/2 sized bed, or use 1 panel for a bench connecting the 2, or a table to eat at. This one has 1 step to get in to. The GO 2024 is about $16,000, not sure about the GOAT. *I forgot to say you can register this as a utility trailer which is less in taxes and you get a forever tag.
Hope this info can help you!!
Thank you for this information and taking the time to comment! I am a big fan of the fiberglass campers. My preference is the 13ft Scamp, but they're so expensive (for my budget). There are so many options out there, it's awesome!
You may want to consider looking into some of the off-road “overlanding” trailers. Some are relatively inexpensive and would give you a lot more space.
I'd love to have one of those!
I was a marine mechanic years ago, you've got to have deep pockets and nowadays to run a boat. LOTS of up keep!Boat stands for B,bringI O out A another T thousand.....
I feel like I don't have enough money or experience to do the boat life. 😂 my dad has a boat, and it's always a cost! It's a nice dream, though.
How about one of those SUV tents that wrap around the back end of your vehicle? At least until you figure out a permanent solution. It would be on the ground, easy for your dogs, and still give you access to the inside of your vehicle, ie: frig, drawers, etc..
I see there are more options for the SUV tents now, and that would be a great option until I find something else.
Mount the roof top tent on a harbor freight trailer or some type of trailer and pull behind 4 runner
Warren Buffet would say go with a tandem axle trailer. The insurance on the Forerunner basically covers the trailer. Should you go with a Box Truck or Class C then consider a "Featherlite" car trailer. Very little weight but plenty capable of hauling the 4-Runner. The fuel cost, insurance, and expenses on a Box Truck or Class C can get expensive. Something amusing, your appreciation of the Good Lord must have come from the Kentucky lifestyle and experiences. Never noticed such deep commitment from all my experience in California. Keep up the good work!
Those are all great things to keep in mind. Thank you for sharing all this information. Surprisingly enough, I grew up in Southern California and my love for the Lord came from childhood. My parents have always been very involved with their relationship with Jesus (during my lifetime), so it really came from my home. It does seem a little rarer in CA. :)
Just left san diego Wed......my 5th week this summer. My dog loves del mar dog beach......I love Juanita's taco shop!! Timmy C Arizona
Agron was so cute in the pool!
He was a water loving boy!
@NatMoran Omgsh Agron was the one who passed away? I thought it was Pike since he looked older. Agron is happily splashing around in a doggy pool in Heaven 💙

If you asked me what i learned from your videos! I would say your resilience and believe in god and displaying it openly that you are a grateful child of god that believes what happens to you he would never leave you alone.just like the eagle that believes in the power of the wind to sore him and strengthen him ,your faith will always make an ordinary you for an extraordinary future you.keep smiling because god is smiling back at you..
The choices are hard to make when looking for the next rig. The way I looked at it is...I knew I wanted to do a custom build inside and did not want that build to have of life expectancy dependant on the mechanical mileage of vehicle. (Bus...Van...Overland vehicle...etc)
I personally chose a cargo trailer (16 ft) because it is a 1 time build and will last a very long time with the only main maintenance being the tires...wheel bearings...brakes.
I do plan on getting rid of the twin 5200# axles and retrofitting with air ride independent suspension from cruisemaster for rougher off road adventures.
In 16 ft..I've fitted it with...
3ft x 3ft shower
Toilet
Twin upper and lower hanging wardrobe
Upper and lower cabinets
Twin diesel heaters
Airfryer
Twin burner stove
Dwarf tiny wood burner 4kw
Sink
50 gal fresh water
Ice machine
Dometic 95l dz chest fridge and freezer
Electric loveseat recliners
Flip up dinette /laptop work station that flip up in front of recliner and has sliding flat surface that pulls over your lap.
Murphy bed that flips down over recliner.
1,365 watts of solar on roof.
Maxair fan on roof.
On demand water heater.
Twin propane tanks.
11.6 gal aluminum diesel tank fuel cell for diesel heaters.
Storage cabinets built on bottom of murphy bed for pillows and blankets.
The whole vibe is wilderness...green cabinets with animals everywhere including black bear cabinet drawer pulls.
The most important guidance is mounted on the center of murphy bed......."WITH GOD"
"ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE"
Good Luck with your choices and before you know it...a new adventure begins.
Have fun...God Bless....Stay Safe
I love that build! I used to have a 5x8 enclosed trailer. I never filmed that because I ended up not going through with the build. It was a little more than my skill set at the time but mostly it dropped my gas miles to 6 on average and that was rough. I am considering doing something like that with the box truck but that's only because I don't want to keep putting miles on my 4R. So many decisions! Lol.
@NatMoran I'm surprised it dropped your mileage to 6. I pull mine with a Range Rover and average 10.3 on flatter terrain......but the mountains suck big time for sure.
@jimsears2434 Yeah, I had it in KY and drove it around, so it was kinda flat 😂 I'm not sure, but I'd probably get negative miles going up a Colorado pass with it.
Maybe you may want to consider something like an Econoline van or something similar? There are some good deals on vans right now.
Hey! I'm looking at vans, but I want to tow the 4Runner, so it would need to be a V8 or better. Those are harder to get I'm finding. I thought about a shuttle bus conversion. It's all a matter of what's in the budget, lol.
@NatMoran I understand that. I have heard though that some used diesel busses can be troublesome.
@NatMoran if you get a van you can live in, there's no reason to tow the 4Runner.
If it was me -the boat. But you do you.
Yeah, I don't think I want to do boat life LOL!
For the cost of pool to keep two GS cool in SoCal. I grew up in OC but was at my family home in Poway. Do the dogs like being on a boat? My Bear isn’t too thrilled with them.
Oh, thank you! That's so kind of you. That means so much! The dogs do okay on boats, but Agron wants to jump in the water to swim all the time, so it's probably a dream for now. 😂🤗
My personal opinion and I don't know shit but I love the smal Teardrop Trailors, tgwy are solid.😅
Have you looked into Casita or Scamp 16 foot , very light fiberglass . You pull but the 16 foot only 2,300 lbs . I have both a 16 and I 13 foot for 1,200 lbs . I love them .
My preference would be a little 13ft Scamp, but they're pretty expensive. I think everyone wants one lol.
See your in my home town Carlsbad fish house fish restaurant ,good luck house on wheels hunting maybe a van
RE: the box trucks - planning to build your own RV?
I'm open to all ideas at this point (as long as my 4Runner can still join the party lol).
Sometimes the Lord will send you back to your roots, so you don't forget where He brought you from.
Buy an empty enclosed cargo trailer and make the inside the way you want.
I have done that before, but the 4R dropped to 6mpg :0 - It is something I'm considering going back to though!
What made you move to southern KY? I have cousins, Aunt and Uncle move to Walnut Creek outside Oakland and her younger sister move to Outside Sacramento.
My dad is from KY and joined the navy. He was stationed in SoCal, where he met my mom. A lot of my family still lives in the bay area. It's a cool area!
Wow how do you live in such small space with two big dogs / SayTicks / what a ticking experience
I camped in Shasta (with the RRT) one late winter, and the TICKS!!!! it was so bad, but we made it.
take a little more time and sort through it better, do some local type camping trips for content (we will watch no matter what) but take time to correct your situation so you dont have to go through this again. your positive attitude and faith in god is refreshing. Stay away from the box truck ideal.
Thank you for saying you'll watch no matter what. I do have some beautiful camping coming up! I can't wait to share.
I'd love to hear more about your box truck views. What do I need to be mindful of?
@@NatMoran the rental trucks tend to need alot of work. I have customers with them and had to repair a lot on them (not really budget friendly) a off road type trailer would better for your type of camping. they have some that are about the same size of the a frame style and more space. I have family in your area and the camping is great. Anza Borrego and Salton Sea is great for content.
Thank you for taking the time to share that!!!! I can't wait for Temps to cool off so I can go explore more of Anza Borrego. 🤗
Boats are cool but not for being a nomad. Being sea bound is just that; being bound.
Also....have you considered a Go-Fund-Me? I know a lot of us would love to help out. ❤
I haven't really, but maybe I should. 🤗
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this! it helps a lot!!
