Just about Every 7inch round headlight will have those formed tabs. They are alignment tabs for harley/jeeps or any car with 7inch round buckets. Most headlights come with a retaining ring that the formed tabs align to. These RSVs have so many Apple proprietary connector like fittings it's a little annoying. This was my dream bike growing up and when I finally got one I still love it, but...
That headlight looks like a bunch of work to install. I have a 2007 Yamaha Royal Star tour deluxe, and I bought the same lights last year. The headlight brackets and buckets were a direct fit pretty much. I had to do nothing for the headlight to fit. Glad I upgraded it is soooooo much better at night.
Hey, thanks for the reply, I guess the headlight bucket for the Venture is different than the Tour, glad it all worked out for you. Mine is complete and the night driving is alot brighter,😎😎
@@chrisdraven8376 Hey, thanks for the reply!, From what I have been told the tour deluxe is alot easier to convert into a LED headlight thank the Venture, good luck on your conversion. 😎😎
@@ridinggadgets249 Yes, it is. As I said before, the headlight is a direct fit, no cutting or grinding is necessary. The auxiliary lights were the same process as yours. Simply change the connectors, plug in the new lights and you're in business. I was looking at this video again today because I just bought a 2000 Venture to go with my RSTD. The bike has 9,000 miles! and I'm going to do the light conversion to it when I get it home on Sunday.
Hey D, thanks, the leds have come down a lot , I received mine with 3 different Harley harnesses and a chrome housing that is meant for a Harley , but the price was great, just over $120 Canadian , I have the crown and wiring if you ever change your mind. Talk soon my friend.
Hello, Sorry didn't see this till know, if you become a member of a Royal Star Venture Forum you will be able to get something or E-bay or Marketplace or Craiglist, not sure where your located. I found a guy fairly close and took a ride and he had 3 Royal Stars torn down and was selling them on Ebay. Good luck , hope it works out for you. 😎😎

Hope this helps, I did a copy and paste at the time of purchase , there was a $10 dollar coupon and they reduce them another additional $20 because I was an Amazon prime member.
I actually have become a member of a couple of different RSV forums and I get alot of ideas from different guys and then I go hunting the internet for what I want... Goodluck in your mods to your bike....😎😎
Thanks for the comment, I was actually just playing the radio the other day without interference, but I did hear that it happens and guys use RFI noise filter between the headlight and the plug or a wrap around magnet. You can find these on Amazon.
Hello, I did not do the back yet, but I recently found the rear LED board that is a direct fit for inside the rear tail light, so i will be making a video on that and posting the product I use for sure. Thanks for your interest...😎😎
I have a 2004 Yamaha Road Star Venture 1300 don't they make LED lights that you don't have to do all that work?? Hey let's talk ape hangers. Thanks! I wish you were in Texas.
Hello, thanks for replying, I did a ton of research at the time and I could not find anything that was a direct fit. Looks like the aftermarket companies think there is only one bike maker out there...lol. Anyway if you decide to do it I hope this video helped a bit and definitely do some googling and check RSV forums, sometimes guys make this and sell them. Best Regards Happy riding! 😎😎
Hello, thanks for replying, After installing the headlight, I shut the garage door and tested it with the radio on and volume up and signals turning and 4 ways flashing and brake lights going. It stayed solid....Very happy with the brightness...Best Regards, Happy Riding 😎😎😎

I'm actually watching to see how to do my 2005 royal star tour deluxe. So it's just a straight fit to convert?

What headlight did you purchase for your venture? I have a 2007 as well.
Welcome back. I'd love to put IEDs on my bike. If they weren't so darned expensive!

If you have a tour deluxe it is a direct fit
From what I've read and seen, the Tour Deluxe is a direct fit, wish it was so for the RSV. Do it you will love the brightness, good luck, Regards
I take it the deadlight plug it self just plugs in and high and low beams work with no adapters?
Hey, thanks for commenting, yes the original plug on the bike is a direct fit, and plugs in. No adapters needed , thanks , regards

That's what I need to do to my 04 Yamaha Road Star Venture and put ape hangers on too. Where do you find Yamaha parts??

Partzilla for factory parts is a good source.
Does it cause any static with your radio?

Did you do the back lights too??
