So I have been noticing UA-cam doesn't always tell me when I have new comment. If I don't get back to you it's probably because I wasn't notified of your comment, and not because I don't care.
Hello I really hope you get this question because I think your the only one that can help me. I appreciate all your videos they have helped me so much setting up my laser I bought from universalengraver.com. I have watched it several times now because for some reason my laser isn’t working like it use to. Can you please message me on Instagram so we can talk? I’m MrsMissyLaLa or theartistreeloft on Instagram. Thank you so much!!!
Great video! I was a bit nervous about buying an Eleksmaker A3 Pro as I'm not really great at the technology side of things and putting it together and then setting it all up seemed quite daunting to me. After setting it up I realised that the software they come with isn't great, and that filled me with fear- I now had to go and find a new software and get it to work with that! But this video made it all SO easy for me! I'd read on some forums that they all used T2 Laser and then your video just made it so easy getting it to work with my laser cutter. The software is great, your video is great, good experience all round! I really like that you've gone over everything, even the steps that might seem simple (like reversing the y axis). For someone like me it was just perfect!
thank you for this video. I have been trying to set up for a few days using benbox and have had no luck. terrible instructions from seller. This in my opinion is the best, easiest to follow on you tube. I followed your video step by step and now have a working laser. Thanks again!
This was the most informative tutorial I have found! Thank you!
Brilliant video. It has helped me a LOT.
Would love to see you do one on how you tune for greyscale/image burning. I am pretty new to all this so visiting a lot of forums etc, but so far your video has probably been THE most helpful thing I have come across.
In the mean time, a BIG thank you :)
Hi Steve,
All is good now, I did reload the firmware and my machine now works.
Thank you very much. Not sure what the problem was.
I did forget to make mention your video is fantastic and very informative.
Thanks again.
Randy
I am new to using laser engravers and this software is amazing.
The software that came with my A3 Pro eleksmaker was poor at best.
It would skip lines and sometimes small sections of the project when I contacted eleksmaker they said it was a connection problem, I did not touch a thing and got the T2 software has completely fixed all my issues.
I switched back to the manufacturers software and the same issue occurred again.
I am greatful that this software was created.
I would like to see more detailed videos on how to use the complete software. There is a lot of things I don't fully understand how to use or what it does yet.
Thank you for this video it's helped a lot.
Great video. How did you go about engraving the glass shown at the end of the video?
THANK YOU!!! Your video has helped me sooo much! :)
It is simple to use an xacto knife to lift the clip and swap any two of the non-black wires to reverse the motor so you don't have to edit your model.
Fantastic program. The tutorial videos are very good. It is worth the cost. Easy to use. Support very good. Can recommend T2 laser.
Excellent video ... very helpful. Thanks!
THIS IS THE BEST TUTORIAL I HAVE SEEN.
Great tutorial . Thank you. I wonder if you have an image with red and blue lines when you upload it to t2 laser adter sending gcode will it engrave where it must and cut the other?
Thanks dude! Very useful! :)
Steve, love your video. Very helpful; however, when I get to the add the parameters, it never loads. Therefore, I can't continue. The message reads it's uploading in progress. I left it on all night. I need some help. Please
Thanks for this video, made using the Laser a little easier. I have the Eleksmaker 2500mW and get nowhere near the burn you get in your video, all I get is a few puffs of smoke occasionally, with no pattern showing - or is yours the 5500mW size
Mine is the 2500. Check your wires. There is a 5 v wire and a 12v wire. If they got swapped at the factory (and trust me that does happen) the 12+ wire goes from + to + and the s pin goes to pwm
I am new to this.i bought a laser engraver with 2,5 watt laser module. i can figure you have some experience on this. which you think is the easiest software to use for engraving, designing and cutting? Is there a laser software where you can design and after that go and cut or engrave without having to export your design first?
Hello, thank you so much for your video. Can you please let me know what to do if I am getting an error once trying to upload the default firmware. "Firmware upload error (1/0)''? Thank you
Wow thank you. Now it runs as expected. What I thought was the LL was actually the UL and what I thought was X Axis was Y Axis. The machine fonally goes where expected. Still not sure of the difference between Home and Workpiece Origin? I seem to be getting by by setting them both to the same position.
homing the machine takes it back to 0,0. If you had homing switches, 0,0 would be at the bottom left. The work piece origin would be where ever you want the job to start. So 0,0 would be bottom left but you want to start at the center of you 100x100 coaster. the work piece origin would be 50,50 and you would need to set that. Since most people dont use home switches setting the work piece origin as your home is the correct procedure.
Hello there, is there a video on how to use t2laser for a small 24-18 CNC machine, using a grbl board?
when i click to upload defult firmware and cmd opens up, it just keeps saying failed to connect attempting 2 of 10 etc..
Many thanks for the video/info. So I played the drinking game and so now my liver is toast so thanks so much..
Thanks for the video it really helped! The software is so powerful and useful, would be great if it had some onboarding that meant we didn't need your video (no offence!)
Great tutorial - Ran out an bought a fire extinguisher ....not. Got T2 on advice of Bencutlaser video. great for beginners
Thak you from OzTralia
you didnt get a fire extinguisher? how dangerous! I am sooo concerned for you! JK let me know if I can help in anyway. I'm on alot of the forums and facebook groups.
Maybe you help me. I have the same machine you have. The universal 3000mw laser. I lost my power supply cord. I was wondering if you know how I can get a new one and what kind. Thank you!!

hi, I have T2 laser software with an Eleksmaster 2500mw laser and my question is, how to know where the laser is going to engrave. I'm wasting quite a bit of mdf because I dont know whereABOUTS ON THE BOARD ITS GOING TO START. sorry caps lock off now. I'd really appreciate it if you could help me, I've seen some that draw an outline round the image on the board before it starts actually engraving so you know exactly where its going to start and knowing the boaRD IS BIG ENOUGH TO, SORRy caps lock off again.cope with the image.
This is an old video so dont know if i will get a response. My lazer keeps moving from the home position, even when I hit the home button it moves far off to the side when it starts engraving. Is there another setting?
is it worth buying this software? I'm not happy with the LaserGRBL
I got it so it functions and turns laser on and such for my laseraxe..only issue is it is not putting out the right output size..I try to make a coaster frame which is 94mm x 94mm.. I put that into the output size and it draws a frame of about 70mm x 70mm
never mind I got it..had to adjust from 80 steps to 100 steps
Hi again Steve,
Followed you instructions keeping the laser switched of works great. I burned the test circle although it's not perfectly round. Does it mean maybe the belts are to tight? Also tried to burn a other simple drawing but after a min. or so the laser stops at 4%. Another test at grey scale also stops after passing the same line a few times? Any idea? tnx in advance Huub
I would say that you need to adjust the belts and check your driver voltage. benboxlaser.us/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=20.0;attach=3545;image
How can I engrave metal name badges with the t2 laser software
Hi Nice vidéo thanks
I just change my laser for a better one but
It look like the software don’t Work correctely it just doing little pulse
Can you help me ?
Sorry for the bad english
My laser is set just like the video but does not cut. It lights up and traces image but that is all
Can I talk to you about the software and issues I am having
Steve, I need your insight. I could not find your old channel to look up our past threads. I got with Zax and moved my software from a laptop to my office PC. I have installed the CH341 driver, T2 Laser, (and also Benbox and EleksCAM). The comport is detected in Windows control panel (COM7). I if I connect T2 Laser to the A5, the diode light will come as always (need to fix that soon!). But the A5 does nothing else. It will not move X,Y asis and it does not laser.
When I load EleksCAM it shows that SERIAL PORT Search Failed. So it does not recognize the laser either. Is there some setting on my office PC that I am missing? It has been a little while since I set it originally on my laptop so I may be forgetting something I had to do. I am running Windows 10 64 bit. Thanks for any advice!! I desperately need to get these things running again.
Steve, Zax emailed me back. The problem was that the baud rate in Windows control panel was set to 9600 for COM7 and it should have been 115,200. I changed that and now all is good. Thanks again for all your past help and you great videos!!
Do you know how to use the software to cut mat boards? I can etch and engrave with no issues, but can't seem to figure out making a clean cut.
Mat boards? what material? Best way to do that is with a dxf file or using the trace feature in t2 laser. then set the number of passes you need to cut through. Start with the sample box in the help menu to learn how many passes you need. using air assist will also help by removing ash and smoke from the cut area. Depending on the material air assist may be a must. I cut 3mm wood in about 6-9 passes with a 2.5 watt laser.
Hi Steve! thank you for the information. I have been working for several months with this software. When I import the image into the main window, the image is pixelated. Whether small or large, HD or not, zoom on or off the image is always pixelated. If I adjust the resolution to .05 it's a little better but not perfect and it's much longer to do the job. By engraving this image of poor quality I have a bad engraving. What is wrong? Thank's
Hi Hogue. There could be a couple of issues which are plaguing you. How do you make your images? I would venture to guess your images are low dpi. I usually create my images in inkscape. Inkscape defaults to 90 dpi at export. T2 at a resolution of .1mm (the size of the laser beam) is 254 dpi. Therefore if you export at the default 90 dpi your image will be tiny and pixelated. If you are using large hd images and still pixelated I would wager to say that it has to do with the maximum resolution of the laser. The laser makes a burn dot which is .1mm. when you use .05 resolution you are just slightly overlapping your burn dots. this will increase resolution but will actually make half of your burn exposed twice to the laser which will affect the final image and will definitely affect your ability to do greyscale. If you want to share any image with me and let me see what you are specifically talking about I could offer a more educated opinion on what is going on. my email is nottingham82@gmail.com
when you generate the G code does your laser come on????? how can you stop that
Everything was going good, left one night and when I returned the next morning, it was only cutting (engraving) part of the art. HELP!!!!
Hi, when I burn my drawings, the size becomes smaller. How can I make it fit?
My machine cannot print more than 1000 lines,do you have any suggestions?, So my machine can printed more than 1000 lines?
Hi, Steve, I was about to throw my engraver in the trash until I saw your video. I have a Universal Engraver 3000m Blue CNC machine and the software with that was awful and in Chinese. I purchased the software and it's all installed. My problem is all my lettering looks like I'm drunk. It's blurred. What causes this? I need help.
I download the image online, but on review said: parameter is not valid, what should I do?
I think this most be a bad translation. Are you saying you downloaded the program but it wont install? What version of Windows are you using?
Good morning Steve,
Just installed T2 laser for my Eleksmaker A3 pro. Most things seem to work normal except for 2 strange incidents. When I connect to the laser or generate the G-code the laser fires up for 1-2 seconds at full power. Is there a way to solves that?
Lustenhouwer Huub good morning. The laser turning on at startup is a design flaw. The most permanent way to fix it is to solder in a resistor to the controller. There are some write ups on benboxlaser.us personally I just have the laser plugged in on top of the work bench in arms reach of my computer. I keep my laser unplugged until I'm ready to send the code. The laser only comes on when the PC is connecting so if you plug in the laser after it says grbl ready, it won't fire until you tell it too. If yours is plugged in somewhere hard to get to you can push the low power button on the laser which will keep it from going on at full power at startup.
Hi Steve. Great Video and I am going to buy the T2 software if I can solve the problem of my Laser not responding to the power settings. It only burns at full power and I cannot turn it off with the software. Thanks
Sounds like it could be a wiring issue. Take a few photos of your system (particularly all the wiring for the laser and board) and post them on benboxlaser.us so we can troubleshoot this for you.
Will do. What section of benboxlaser should I post in
Like your tutorial! How about a tutorial for a pen module. Tia
I have a pen module. Still new in the bag. I could do a video. I'll give it a try in the next few weeks and see what I can come up with.
you engraved that slate? How many watts is your laser
3 watts
Hello, I have uploaded firmware Grbl1.1f and it is says it is ready, but the process seemed to run through with each going to 100% , however, it returned a firmware upload error 1/1. Do you know what may have caused the error? We are flashing a laseraxe board.
Q.I.S Quality.Industry.Services if it says ready it is fine. Some times there is a false error.
any way to make the laser engrave faster
Speed tab controls the speed. There is a speed and power settings
when i go to update the firmwear i get issues avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 2 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x03
Contact zaxstarr the developer. You may need to replace the Arduino nano
Great video Steve, after watching it a couple of times I decided to make the jump to the paid version. I was wondering if you could help me with some g-code for a custom button. I want to code a one click Trace Frame key. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
No need. Right click the turn on laser button (the red one that looks like a laser shooting) and it will automatically trace frame. I guess I should do a tips and tricks video
@@lasergraffiti5453 I found the issue. If your settings are set for silent mode, the laser will automatically trace. If not, the software asks if you want to trace and you have to answer.
do you know if you have to be hooked to the internet constantly to use the software
You do not need the internet to run the software. You will not get the automatic updates though if you are not connected.
yeah I figured it out ends up being that the main board is fried
Are you serious a freakin envelope is the GO button?!?!? Holy crap that pisses me the fuck off
Hey! I bought a 3w 56x60 laser engraver went from benbox to T2laser updated the firmware to grbl 1.1e but it will only do horizontal lines the machine can vertical but the laser doesn't do anything?! please help
Sounds like you may be running a non standard machine. Does it only have one y motor? If so you may need to use the laseraxe firmware.
@@lasergraffiti5453 it has 2 y axes motors.. the laser moves great in all directions just the laser stops burning when moving in the y direction
So I got it working.. for some reason on cardboard is wasn't working but on actual wood it engraves normal.. thanks anyways
Hmm could you post a video showing the issue?
Hi Steve,
Need you help, I followed your video all the way through to uploading the 1.1e firmware to my laser main board. Am not sure what I've done wrong now, I cannot move either X or Y axis through the T2 controller.
I could move both axises through the T2 controller previously. Please need your help.
Thank you
Randy
that is weird. Have you tried reloading the firmware and resetting default parameters?
Hi I have got the same. It stop working. Worse is i can't use it at all. Is not connecting to my CCNC software which I used before. Like something washed up from the board. :(
Help. It worked fine before. Now whatever I click it is going in one direction on x axis.
Academy3DCake Agnieszka & Grzegorz did you find a solution to this im having this problem?
I'm stuck with gcode exceed gcode lines more than 1000 lines,do u have idea what's going on,please tell me 🙏
For the trial version you are limited 1000 lines of code and 30 minutes to be sure you like the program. You can try a smaller project if you are running into the limit.
Your video its perfect worked first time but then keep saying firmware report error... Please I need some help anyone
Is there any way you can help me out? Everything I engrave is on the diagonal. I can't figure out how you adjust that out or why it's even that way. thanks
Sounds like you installed the wrong firmware for your machine.
@@lasergraffiti5453 DO you know which firmware it should be? thanks for answering I appreciate it and your videos
No. Not without knowing exactly what machine you have. If it is an Eleksmaker machine, the one labeled grbl 1.1e DEFAULT is the one you want. If it's some other diode machine manufacturer it may require different firmware.
@@lasergraffiti5453 I'll check on that the system is universal engraver 15w came with engrave master and elekscam. Thanks for your help I appreciate it
Firmware was the issue thanks for your help!!!!!!!
Hi how do you make the grid board on your machine
A3 laser
ua-cam.com/video/vp1R2wKt1pA/v-deo.html
hi thanks for the video.it was very helpful.i ve a problem now...when i wanna engrave a thing machine is going corner and come back somewhere to start...how can i start to engrave where my laser module right that moment?any one help i ll be very happy thanks alot.
Before generating gcode you need to select a start point. You can select center, bottom left, bottom right, top left, or top right. Once you hit start the laser will go to the top left and begin engraving. if you want it to just start where it's at you need to select top-left as a start point. I usually use center start point. Then I find the center of my piece so that it will be even on all sides. I put the laser in the center of the piece right click on the home button to set the home position then hit start. The laser then moves from there up and left and starts engraving.
Does this work on a XP computer
I dunno. I don't have any computers not running Windows 10. Feel free to try it. The trial version is free just so you can ensure it will run on your pc and laser
I AM NOT ABLE TO TURN THE LASER ON AND OFF WITH THE PROGRAM
Me to. Have a Neje Master
How do I download the T2 lazer program
t2laser.blob.core.windows.net/install/setup.exe
How do I Change Axis my X and Y are Switched?
In the laser control screen there is a reverse x axis option in the drop down. There is one for y as well
Unless you mean that when you're trying to move x it actually moves y in which case you pluged your wires into the wrong ports
@@lasergraffiti5453 Looking at the Machine from the Board at Back of Laser, Y1 is Right Motor Y2 if Left Motor and X is going to Laser Motor. and they are running backwards Y1 Y2 are right/left , X is running Front to Back.
@@lasergraffiti5453 Sorry I commented wrong, X is going Y thinks it is X, X thinks it is Y
Oh ok. I think there's a specialty firmware for that. I am not in front of a PC for the next few hours but check the drop down of all the firmwares. I think there is a swap xy one
I need Help, everything works and I set it up like the tutorial video but when I want to engrave the circle, the laser goes on and off with no engraving marks
If you have a button on the laser or board for low power it may be on, your power supply may be faulty, your 5v and 12v wires could be switched, or your lase may be dying. Time to break out the multimeter.
Awesome video! it helped so so much. However i need HELP! i watched the entire video twice before even turning my machine on. i then went through all the steps - setting up the various settings. i uploaded a picture - checked all my settings again - sent the code - it started at top and continuously burnt the top of the image then began to work its way down then only got half way through the image then said complete? what am i doing wrong? thank you so much!
Jaclyn Bush if you are using the free trial version it has a maximum limit on lines of gcode. So your picture may be bigger than the free limits.
you are right!
i have another question..
i need to engrave leather.. i have been trying to practice on scraps, however all of the sizes of the images are HUGE. I'm not sure 100% sure how to scale it down..
i registered the software, but still waiting for the code.
i am just really at a loss. i love the software so far.. just unsure exactly how to use it. thank you so much for your time and insight!!!
Jaclyn Bush 11:56 will show you how to adjust the output size
Where can I find the flag file?
