This is great. It really does encapsulate how amazing even the mundane, everyday moments can be. That said, you did manage to get in what looked like some fun traveling.
Loved you talk on TED and shared your idea with a friend of mine who's Cancer has come back after 2 years of being Cancer free.. she hasn't been given very long to live and is making a bucket list of things to do. She saw your video and is doing a miracle picture for everyday :) Thank you for coming up with and sharing your idea!!
I posted on this video forever ago, but I finally got the app, and it's sooooo good. You did a great job on it. Honestly. I haven't had a phone since I was 16 (I'm 23) and I've been resisting getting one. The ONLY reason I finally got one was so that I could have your app on it, and I have not been disappointed. Also, I just noticed you have at least two separate squirrel attacks in your video. That's fantastic. XD
This is so truly amazing! Going to do it for a year starting on Wednesday! Thank you so much for the idea to be able to appreciate the world we live in
dude you do so much but i love that you constantly are a champ at finding time to just chill. Great video would watch a full movie that was just like that.
on an average day, I'll record 1 or 2... if it's an exceptional day, I might have 5 or 6... I try to wait at least a month to pick the second that I'll use because having time to reflect is important... sometimes events in your life end up being much more significant than you originally thought. The App I'm building has this in mind :)
I started this a few days ago. It's definitely easier to do when you have something planned. But it's the little things that you FORGET to capture that is most important. They end up being the most special because they are the easiest to miss. Definitely a modern day way to scrapbook your life.
this is so honest, it's incredible. especially with the hospital clips mixed in with how day to day life still has to go on during the difficult times.
I am so inspired by you because your idea is so beautiful and captures so much. After I saw this, I decided to do 100 seconds/100 days and I'm on day 20 right now. It's giving me reason to get up every morning and it's been adding this indescribable excitement and joy to my life. Thanks for that, Cesar.
As someone who's mother is currently battling systemic scleroderma and pulmonary fibrosis, the November edits almost brought a tear to my eye. Hope your familiy is doing good.
Great video. Really made me feel good I looked at the days my lil bro passed and the day my mom passed and there was beautiful bright sunbeams shining on those days. Think it's my loved ones telling me they are looking down upon me and my family. Awesome vid
I see you travel extensively and eat out a lot....nice! Hope the lady is feeling much better, I see it was a big part of your life this year. Great idea!
This guy likes live entertainment, travelling (cycling), golf, eating out/drinking with friends, some nerdy stuff and of course, his family. Pretty much covers it I think, seems like his easy to be friends with.
I gather that it's either your sister or wife who's in the hospital. When she walked through the front door I was really relieved then there was one more shot of her back in the hospital and my heart broke for you. She's obviously important to you and wish you and yours the best of luck.
Big thanks to you Cesar for such an inspiring idea. I promised myself I'd do it for 100 days and just finished yesterday. It really made me value my life and the things I do so much more. Thanks again.
If I were to mimic this project, it'd look like it was in one sitting as I'd be in the same position, on the same desk, looking at the same computer every second of my life.
Just bought your app mate, looking forward to have an amazing life so my kids (so far a one year old boy) and grandkids can see how granda was awesome :D
2020 December 28 (yesterday) would be the 3600th second of this project. If you're still doing this today, congratulations for possibly being the first person to film a complete hour! This app has greatly changed the way I view the passage of time, and thank you too for this! May many more hours come our way.
Wow I had considered my upcoming birthday in February as the big milestone (10 years!), but I hadn't considered the first milestone being hitting 1 hour!!! Thank you!!!!! And yes still going strong til the rest of my days ;)
@@cesarkuriyama Great to hear you're still keeping up! It's also quite interesting how an hour and a decade come so close to each other; another major milestone is coming your way pretty soon. And indeed we will continue doing this for as long as we're around. My 2600th second (haven't missed a single day yet) was a few weeks ago.
found this link on reddit a while back and i was inspired enough to do something similar but as a monthly thing on my channel for 2013. we'll see how it turns. thanks!
Just felt compelled to comment because I first thought that too. But then I got to thinking...I bet we all have more interesting lives than we are aware of. It would probably be very "eye opening" to take a look at ourselves for a year like this.
I think most of mine would be eating! I love to cook and bake, and those moments when you first taste your concoction are magical.
I love that you kept the original audio, great video(s)!
you have such an interesting life
Someone elses' life just flashed before my eyes.
Wow, I found the "waiting" seconds very powerful. I think I'm going to show this to my freshmen students when I teach them "litotes".
i love how the perosn in the hospital recovers and then goes home.. This is a person who appreciated 1 second of his dialy life. so inspiring

I like the face you said "whoops forgot" instead of just putting a random clip from any other day. Respect.

exactly...there are loads of clips in this of him just watching tv, reading driving etc...people just notice the out of ordinary things
This.. This is the kind of life I want to live. He's doing it right.
You sir seem to have had the best year of your life. Great way of remembering it
I like the fact that I can put my own music behind it. This is really nostalgic somehow, and it doesn't have anything to do with me. Bravo.
Keep being awesome. Good luck with the ongoing project, it looks brilliant.
Such a life changing concept. I just finished mine!! Thanks for the idea Cesar.
Best videos ever. Your life seems so interesting and busy.
As someone who's mother is currently battling systemic scleroderma and pulmonary fibrosis, the November edits almost brought a tear to my eye. Hope your familiy is doing good.
I recognized the July 29th, 2011 shot! Cadillac Ranch...I was there nearly a year later! The Cadillacs looked completely different when I got there.
"I spent it doing all the important things I never had enough time for... travel, my own creative projects, & family."
Respect, my man. Respect.
Great video. Really made me feel good I looked at the days my lil bro passed and the day my mom passed and there was beautiful bright sunbeams shining on those days. Think it's my loved ones telling me they are looking down upon me and my family. Awesome vid

living in Seattle I got a kick out of all the seconds from our area, great work with the video keep livin life
Really great and original, with these short movies, the audience is still possibleto learn to know you a little bit. With just one second.. amazing :)
June 18th, 2011 (2:00) filled my heart with joy. i was probably less than a mile from you right then

Settlers, Magic, SNES and beer. This man's living the good life. Keep it up brah!
It is perfect, just the way it is, Beautiful. I am touched. The sound is as important as the picture. It really captures your moments.
Big thanks to you Cesar for such an inspiring idea. I promised myself I'd do it for 100 days and just finished yesterday. It really made me value my life and the things I do so much more. Thanks again.
Shame to see you spent so much time in the hospital :/ great to see you enjoy life.
I actually smiled when I saw the woman from the hospital walking into the home.
wow watching this while listening to this will destroy you, just amazingly beautiful
If I were to mimic this project, it'd look like it was in one sitting as I'd be in the same position, on the same desk, looking at the same computer every second of my life.
Some peoples life's are worth recording. Yours is definitely one of them.

You live a very interesting life. thank you for posting this.
Thanks for inventing a new trend for enjoyable vids
Gah, just turned 19, hope my life becomes as interesting as yours is, sometime soon hopefully!
living your life to the fullest. RESPECT
Amazing work. So simply made, yet complexly enjoyable
This man knows how to live a good life.
I agree.
You don't need money to spend some time with your family and friends, come on people, just do it!
Yes He works! I think he's a Video editor/VFX artist. On April 12th he was working on the visual effects of the short film "Portal"? maybe?
absolutely inspiring and so well done. please keep it up.
I fail to see how any of this is extraordinary.
I just saw mutual friends in your video! Wild small world! Thanks for sharing this and being an incredible inspiration good sir.
I like how people at the beginning were like " are you recording me?" XD.
I knew you're life was going to be more exciting than mine before even starting the video
YOU sir, definitely live life to the fullest.
The "falling water" house, desighned by Frank lloyd wright. im pretty sure. its a very famous architecturally designed house
Are you sure this isn't my video? I was also at the library overnight. I also did the 5 boro bike tour, but 2012, not 2011.
Can't believe this is only 6 minutes. Felt much longer experiencing everything that happened.
So wonderful, I love this video
This... is one of the best videos I've seen in a while on UA-cam.
Also, nice job with the Breaking Bad clip in there. ;)
This was amazing. Very well done.
This is a work of ART!!! Fantastic. Inspiring. Beautiful.
Thank You!
He also plays settlers of catan, TED talk speaker, and edits a lot of videos - possibility of being his job.

I honestly think this is so so great.
Incredible. Congrats on your success.
Must be nice to have a family fully finance a year off to travel around the world.
found this link on reddit a while back and i was inspired enough to do something similar but as a monthly thing on my channel for 2013. we'll see how it turns. thanks!
Anyone else watching this, blinking every one second and pretendnig you're switching the the videos on screen WITH YOUR MIND!?
I decided to search for this after reading about it in the book 'Ripleys believe it or not! Dare to look"
This is amazing. I think I'm going to starting recording a second of my life each day as well.
Just felt compelled to comment because I first thought that too. But then I got to thinking...I bet we all have more interesting lives than we are aware of. It would probably be very "eye opening" to take a look at ourselves for a year like this.
this is so dope, well done good sir.
welcome to the wiserhood
Enhorabuena!!! Me ha encantado!!!!
So incredibly inspiring.
Awesome video and a true inspiration. Thanks for sharing.
Late October - November was terrible. Leading up to that point, I was like,"I can't wait to see Halloween!" Now I'm sad.
so cool. I feel like I was on a journey. I felt happy and sad and worried and happy again. Love it , thanks for sharing your life :)
I have also started my own project. I upload everything directly to UA-cam and do my editing with UA-cam Editor. This works great for me.
This gives me an idea, I need to abandon UA-cam and Facebook, and go out and have a life. Thanks for the inspirational video dude.
Very cool. Good luck on Kickstarter.
Rental Car Rally!!! That the NY to Montreal one? I did the one right before that...SF vs. LA. Such a great time.
A life well lived by Cesar Kuriyama.
I'm playing, too. I find 2 seconds is more comfortable to watch. I hope your software will have an option.
it'll make it easy to select the daily second and automatically edit them together for you + more.
This is awesome dude.
Can't tell you how surprised I was at Pittsburgh! Loved it!
I had to pause every so often to blink because I didn't want to miss a day
I've decided to do this project for my university. This was a great idea. I love your video. :)
3:11 Best shot of the year!
Great job. interesting idea u had. gives a new meaning to the expression "life flashing before the eyes"
This is great, I really enjoyed it.
I think we were most excited to see the three times MTG was being played :P Also, you seem to live a very adventurous and exciting life. Awesome :)
