2 AWESOME US AIR FORCE (USAF) KC-135 Tanker's Landing & Taxi at Prestwick Airport (with ATC)

- Here we have a beautiful sight at Prestwick Airport, two US Air Force (USAF) Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker's landing shortly after one another. This was my first time seeing these beauties and I am so pleased to have filmed them. They arrived shortly after two USAF C-5M Super Galaxy's which had landed to deliver personnel, vehicles, equipment etc related to President Trump's arrival on the 13th July 2018. The KC-135s were stopping off at Prestwick for a fuel-stop and departed the following day.

a moment after touchdown at roughly 4:32 I notice that as the speedbrakes are deployed, the seemingly dug-in nosegear then bucks up slightly, the jet settles more on its mains probably giving improved braking effectiveness for those mains
I have a friend of mine who goes out on Mission on the KC-135 and he love his job duties aboard the Aircraft

I live 2 miles from a squadron of these planes. Get to see and hear them frequently. During training (Air National Guard squadron) they often fly over my house at just a few hundred feet. Love it. But these were not from the local collection, because the tails on them say "Kansas Koyotes". LOL.

It doesn’t have reverse thrusters?
Aviation guy I worked these babies,135s, Stateside in flight ops which we were near the end of one of the runways. The C5s would most days fly nearly over us and yes the sound of a freight train is the only way I could describe it. Fun stuff

I noticed the thrust reverser doors do not open on these KC-135s. Do they even have thrust reversers?

Do you know the reason why there aren't any thrust reversers on KC-135s? Please explain sir.
@@shauntrailskinner9645 I don't know why there isn't thrust reverse, I guess the air Force decided it wasn't a necessary feature when they retrofitted the jet with new engines.

I have read other comments, from other videos, saying it was cost effective to just add more brake rotors to the brakes. And by doing that, it adds more strength into slowing down that aircraft, instead of thrust reversers.
Other large heavy jets, Military or Commercial, have to use a combination of.."ALL".. 3 things to slow down something THAT heavy in weight:
1. Spoilers
2. Reverse Thrust
3. Brakes
