I love watching the older elephants as they watch over their babies. I heard that babies have to learn how to control their trunks. They even hit their head swinging it around.
Starting at about 1:08, That was adorable! It seems that the one Mom got a little over-protective about her little one playing and trumpeted towards the playful pair. Or was she herself playing, and decided to tease the other youngster and act like he was in trouble to see how he'd react, knowing what was coming when he tried to hide under Mom? Startled, he made a quick retreat, a mad dash, behind and around his Mom to get under her belly, but he doesn't quite fit anymore, he's getting to big, so he had to kneel. LOL So precious. It seemed like he was peeking out from under Mom's belly, watching to see if the coast was clear. It also seemed that the older Elle's nearby were grinning and bobbing their heads in laughter. I can't help but to anthropomorphize. Thanks for sharing these wonderful creatures of God's creation.
I just can't help but smile and laugh when I watch elephant videos. Babies are just so innocent. Humans should strive to have a loving family like they always do.

I love Sri Lankan way of looking after their elephants, i was in Pinnewela.. Those 3 or 4 young boys manage 60 elephants just by talking to them all they have is a cane.. But in Kerala in South India the tusker male elephants are tortured from the day they are captured usually from age 7 by making then stand on concrete in a special torture shed, both hind legs pulled back and tied tight with steel chains to a big concrete piller, front legs pulled forward tied with steel chain and make thrm stang days weeks months years " till their spirit is broken " and become enslaved till their death... They are carried in trucks on highways from trample to temple to stand for hours in blazing sun right in front 30 drummers beating loud on drums and few blowing trumpets total high level maddening noise and poor elephants has to just stand listen to this for rest of their life. What a cruelty... This cruelty is done by the Hindus... they are supposed to be kind compassionate and follow non violence.
