Now that sound I like....the rythm of the transmission as the agitator oscillates.😊

Bunky's Workshop- Hello from New Hampshire. Today is June 2nd and I am looking at your Maytag vintage washer on E BAY. Hope this helps you. My Sears does a great job of wahing, but look at my comment to Brad. I am having some minor technical difficulties at the moment. Can't keep the water from draining out on my rinse cycle, with the pump motor disengaged. Good luck with your search. ~ Diane

I never knew Zenith made washing machines.

Not the same company that made electronics. This was the house brand of Marshall-Wells hardware stores.

Hello Brad from our farm in New Hampshire. I am attempting to use my mother--in-law's Sears washer of a similar vintage. It washed the clothes just fine. Then I engaged the pump to drain. That was fine. When I moved the handle forward to stop the pump, it did stop running, but the water kept draining on my rinse cycle! Any ideas? The washer hose is high and secured to the top of the tub so it won't drop. If you have an email address, I can send photos of the washer. It may be 1950's. I teach rural New Hampshire lifestyles from 1920 to 1940 and have begun to restore items , like our Great Uncle's 1930 Home Comfort kitchen wood stove, a 1900s Faultless treadle sewing machine and a 1928 golden oak Hoosier baking cabinet with matching metal top table. Thanks for this helpful video ~ Diane

I only know Zenith from electronics ("The quality goes in before the name goes on.") When were they doing household appliances? Is it because I'm too young? 60 :-) Or bc they weren't distributed in Canada?

They were different companies. Zenith washers were made exclusively for Marshall-Wells hardware store chain, out of the factory in Duluth, MN.
