In arranging your tulips, what works best for me is putting beans or peas in the bottom of the vase, then they stay exactly where I want them.

First.. you look beautiful in that pretty pink dress😊 I bought some Hydrangeas from Hobby Lobby and did the same thing, took then off the stems and placed the flowers and leaves in a little wicker basket with a brass handle. I know you guys are ready for spring, but the snow is beautiful! I like the paper in the frame, i frame all sorts of pretty things😊 Oh and I just love the tulips in the wooden shoes.. super cute!! I love all the changes you made to your furniture, all the arrangements and flowers, the table scape & center pieces.. everything is just beautiful, bright and springy. Every room, every space.. beautiful! And above all, I love the final! My Jesus has risen🙌 Thank you for sharing and hope you & your family have a blessed easter!🐰💐

Everything looks fresh and lovely. As usual, you have pull out all the stops to create an ideal spring home for your family.
The one thing I would remove is the unpainted laundry basket in the breakfast area and maybe find a space for it in the actual laundry. It catches and jars my eye every time you pan the area. But as you always say we have our own homes to decorate as we please. Thank you for sharing yours. 🦘🇦🇺
Thank you Kaye! I’m not sure which basket you’re referring to, but the one right next to the washer is for dirty towels that we use daily.
@@oldmaplehome *Elizabeth, Kaye is referring to the LARGE OVAL WICKER LAUNDRY BASKET you have hanging by an end handle, bottoms up, next to the window 🪟 to the right of the covered radiator and the round table. It sticks out from the wall quite a bit, because the basket is so large. I agree with Kaye and was going to make a comment it would be much more appropriate hanging or used in some way in your laundry room, as it is, IMHO, distracting and out of place in the breakfast room...but again...I don't live there, and IT IS YOUR HOME, 😉 to decorate as YOU SEE FIT❣️😝🤪🙃💕*

*Elizabeth, the yellow, royal blue and white color combination is so Spring-y❣️😉🌼🦋💮 Tip: as you accumulate your florals over the years, save any stems (especially those with little stubs that leaves 🍃 attach to!) you cut off to use on the heads of flowers you want short stems for, like the heads of your white hydrangeas in the blue and white flower bowl. That way, they have stems to better anchor them inside the bowl and not tumble out - especially if you use clear 3M Scotch gift wrap tape, stuck in a grid pattern across the top of your flower bowl. 😉 You say you don't cut your flower stems shorter, so you don't have any scrap flower stems to use? That's okay, because you can use thin dowel rods, chopsticks, bamboo skewers, or cuticle sticks attached with green floral tape for your stems, and cut them to size to best fit whatever vessel you're using. 😊 I have been doing this for years❣️ I have even asked at ANY STORE that sells faux flowers if I could have (for free!) any scraps, denuded floral stems or flower heads that were just going to be thrown in the garbage. You would be surprised at what I have been given...even LOTS OF FREE leaves 🍃 and flower heads, too❣️😉*
*I L🤍VE the real touch tulips🌷 you use in your arrangements - they look especially lovely in your wooden shoes 👞(so clever and unique!) and in your crockery beverage dispenser❣️ I used to use dried peas, pinto beans or lentils in the bottoms of my vessels to hold floral stems upright, but I hated to waste the food, so a few years ago I switched to bags of small rocks I found at the Dollar Tree 🌳 - until I found something EVEN BETTER - AQUARIUM ROCKS‼️ They never go bad, I'm not wasting food, and I can use them in clear glass vessels and can even use water in the vessel for an even MORE REALISTIC LOOK. 😁🤯💜*

Is that a dresser for a island in the kitchen? I like your home style a lot and I love bringing the outdoors in too with flowers and plants. New here.
What I see missing in so many younger homes these days are,lack of drapes,curtains of any kind. I just guess being on display at night,lacking warmth,and additional patterns to the room.
We do have curtains in our bedrooms. However, our windows are 120 years old and would need all custom curtains, which cost a fortune and not something I need to invest in right now. I also love our windows and am not sure I want to cover them. We also know our neighbors well and don’t frolic around at night doing anything embarrassing lol.
