As a New York Giants fan my entire life I remember when we won 2 superbowls in 4 years and for the next 10 years it has been straight disappointment and at times depressing. It was a big deal, last season was truly miserable for the wolves. KAT lost so many family members & was understandably really struggling with his losses. There were many injuries in the team, coach getting fired mid season, GM getting fired at the start of this season.
Even the city of Minneapolis really been through a lot in the past few years.
The emotion was there cos it went deeper than a play- game.
This is why the play in is good. It gives a bunch of younger stars the ability to shine and make some career defining moments like Edwards and Russel last night.
If you are defining your career in a play in game you are pretty much trash as a player

They can get some playoff experience, gives those fans something to root for, and prevents the 5 and 6 seed from getting comfortable and load managing because they dont want to be in the play ins. As someone who attended the game there was no fireworks or confetti after the game. The whole team minus D-lo(post game press) and Bev were in the locker room 5 minutes after the game. I'm not going to defend the excessive celebrating, because it undoubtably over the top as a wolves season ticket holder. I'm more saying this is poor journalism by ESPN. I wonder when else I've believed that was way exaggerated.

I was in the building last night, it was an incredible moment for Timberwolves fans. Let me clear things ups:
1. There was no confetti or fireworks after the game
2. The reason we were putting up “number 1” at the end of the game was for Pat Bev wanting recognition for 1st team all defense
The fact that everyone calls for players to be passionate about the game and then clowns us for celebrating a huge win is weird to me. This was a breaking point kind of game for our franchise. We had a great season, but if we lost tonight it shows we are just “the same old timberwolves” but we won in an incredible way against a very experienced team.
I’m all good with the TNT crew playing we are the champions or people making jokes about how much we celebrated because it’s hilarious, but having an actual problem with it is strange to me. Let us have our moments, its what being a fan is about.
The Timberwolves have more to celebrate than the Lakers they talk about every day of the week. I thought this segment was just disrespectful, let the young guys enjoy their accomplishments. Who is to judge how somebody celebrates? That was just stupid in my opinion.
All these people laughing is acting like they never celebrated a big game that they won. I better not see any of these people laughing now, celebrate or be all hype when they win a big game.

Celebrations are excessive... but with all do respect, that was a really gutsy performance by Minnesota with their best player fouling out. The fact that they were able to perform a comeback against a really good Clippers team with D'Lo and Edwards being able to take over on offense and Pat Bev being able to do what he did on Defense, it was a really gutsy performance and the T'Wolves showed a lot of mental fortitude to execute the way they did in the fourth

Today is the two year anniversary of KAT’s mom passing. Clippers gave up on Pat Bev, got traded twice in 9 days. Franchise’s fan base hardly considers the playoff appearance with Jimmy a playoff year, considering he disrespected our franchise player and the whole fan base - making this just the second playoff appearance since ‘03-‘04. D-Lo finally finding a home after four teams. Young guy AE growing into a man after his mom and grandmother passed at a young age.
Don’t give me this nonsense and blatant disrespect about overreacting. This was more than a game for a lot of folks last night.
@Baba Ndiaye honestly the Butler trade is when many hardcore Wolves fans threw in the towel. We had three potentially great players and traded the only one who had dog in them for a guy everybody hated. If we trade Wiggins for Butler totally different story, but we traded Lavine and everybody threw their hands up. Sure they made the playoffs but nobody liked that team.

This is the game where the wolves got the receipts that the fan base can buy into the team. Before this year, you could put money on the wolves to blow massive leads and melt down. Now I believe they can put away games and pull off gutsy comeback wins.
I think being a little extra in order to cement a positive culture shift is a good thing. When Shaq and Charles have an idea of what you are and you know its it's not true, you don't pay any mind about what they have to say because winning will speak for itself. It remains to be seen what they will do until the playoffs take its course but for the franchise and its fanbase this represents a lot more than getting into the playoffs. Everyone around the team thinks this team is a joke, that perception has been so prevelant for so long it's difficult not to succumb to that expectation and become what they see you as. This is the first time where it seems they have confidence in themselves and are pulling themselves out of the hole.

@@jaydell4039 Did you watch the games? Do you know how chaotic that season was? We may have made it to the playoffs, but there was no hope beyond that. Butler was a known rental even before things blew up and he didn't even play well when he was here. Thibs was an aweful coach, the entire offense was Iso Jimmy, Rose, or Wiggins, and post up Kat. The team was aweful to watch outside of Rose, I say that as a season ticket holder that year. This is way different from 2018 because of the potential this team has for future seasons.

The celebration was absolutely great. Loved it. Loved the passion.
It's fine to keep clowing our franchise, but you're missing something. The playoffs weren't a given by any means because we made the play-in. Our franchise and we the fans have struggled thru being the worst franchise in NBA history, and most of us were a little worried that new ownership might mean moving the team. MN as a whole tends to have bad luck in these sorts of scenarios in every sport.
We had 23 wins last year. And the Clips are actually good with PG. He sat out 51 games...
Throw in that Pat Bev wasn't wanted by that team and joined ours, and promised the playoffs and it was a wild recipe of a win.
I do understand the clowning but you don't realize how massive this game was for our franchise and sports fans in this city. We're a small market team that gets zero national coverage. This team has played with a lot of heart all season, and what you saw last night was just the unfolding of a lot of that emotion.

Ja averaged 17ppg on 39% fg% and 24% 3pt% through those 4 games. I have this series going the full 7 games. No telling who will come out of this one

I see how it was very personal to Pat Bev and the timberwolves are seeing success that they’ve only had one other times in the last 18 years-18 years ago was 2004; that’s a long time.
