- United States Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) is a component command of the United States Special Operations Command that comprises the Marine Corps' contribution to SOCOM. Its core capabilities are direct action, special reconnaissance and foreign internal defense. MARSOC has also been directed to conduct counter-terrorism, and information operations.

Luke Lewis why don't you just go straight to MARSOC? What's your MOS?
playboiityler that's with all tier units. If you fail you just get dropped back to your mos but being infantry doesn't matter for marsoc. It helps because you already have the knowledge and training required to be operator instead of just support for non 03s. But in the case of recon you don't need to go recon first. Just go straight to MARSOC selection phases. It's harder to become an operator if your not an 03xx because you have to complete a lot more training but doesn't keep you from trying.
try for MARSOC the worst you can do is fail and they'll say no. you'll still be a marine.

Asking me you get nothing. I am not expert at this and still don't know why MARSOC keep it. (But it sexy.)
Some of the reason said they need to work with Afghan National Army as commando who use woodland on it. Some of US Army Special Operations Force went back to use it.

This video motivated me extremely when I was training for MARSOC. 9 months of just grinding waiting for my chance to see if i had what it took. Truly one hell of an experience during A&S.
Ok dude listen up here is a tip for selection and for surf training. Go buy about 4 pairs of extra sheer pantiehose..and were them..that way sand will not be a problem..it makes it alot more comfortable...

a 30 something year old MARSOC guy helped motivate my 18 year old self through airborne school in them long morning runs. from day one I said this guy is going to make it and I paced myself off him. He sung his own cadences to himself and no black hats stopped him lol. they were some of the meanest cadences I've ever heard in my military career.
I am only 15 but I have decided what I want to do, it is become a United States Marine and become a part of MARSOC. Your post gave me even more motivation.

GB has the SAS, Germany has the GSG9, France has the GIGN. What i'm trying to say is that there is no best country and if there was it wouldn't be the united states.

For me is Raiders.
Rangers is a Light Infantry and also a part of Special Operations Command. They're more special operations raid.
Marine Raiders is more than that. For comparing Raiders with other special operations community in US. Green beret.

How do you make it into MARSOC? Do you get invited or...?
Bub there will be MARSOC recruiters who visit different the Marines bases. Every Marine is supposed to briefed on the MARSOC program. You can also see your career planner which every unit has at least one. you will need to have a ASVAB GT line score of 105, have a minimum first class Physical fitness test and combat fitness test. There will also be an additional swim test, and additional medical and screening requirements capable of receiving secret security clearance. at that point in time you will receive a date to begin A&S which is the beginning of training for the MARSOC program. does anyone have any suggestions on how i can rank up in boot camp because i wanna get my E: 4 really fast so i can start training for MARSOC
Thrash metal tortoise you really have to be in long to earn rank but taking other courses and doing tests and scoring high on all of that but mostly you need to be in atleast 4 to 5 years
