  • In PART 2 of a xTool Screen Printer videos we go through the process of creating multi-coloured designs. This was our first attempt at doing and we were already getting better as we went along. So with a bit of practice and testing we'll be able to achieve even better results.

      You are going to love it. It's certainly a game changer for screen printing at home. And we are having so much fun with it.

    I read elsewhere that this system is not capable of 4 color cmyk half tones. Your thoughts? I know from my own DIY screen printing that there are 4 half tones needed to attempt any type of "photo realistic" color print. It seems that 4 prints should be feasible, but there will be issues possibly, with the 100 mesh used in their screens and further, as with any 4-color print proper registration can also be a challenge. Just not sure if I want to spend $500 to test their system. Thanks for a very informative video.😄

    Do you really love it? I’m still undecided if I want it or not. I don’t have a specific reason in mind, but it seems like lots of fun and like I’d regret not getting it.
    Have you tried washing fabric with this paint? How does it look? Like it would last or not?
    And do you go very quickly through those paint jars? I don’t know if I should get extra right away. Thanks! :)

      Wanda loves it and can't wait to do more with it. Me on the other hand, likes it a lot but I know that I wouldn't use it that much. So I think it is going to be more of a personal preference. I am not fussed with working with paints in general. I love working with the laser engraver part of it but just find the paint part a bit messy. Once we had the paint worked out and we weren't using as much, it did get less messy but even so, it's not my thing. But like I said, Wanda on the other hand has a number of other projects in mind (and also has a lot grandchildren to make stuff for) so she will be using it more than I will. We haven't tried washing the fabrics but apparently the paint is washable but not sure how it would look after washing. There is a decent enough of paint in the jars but if you were going to do this seriously you would buy big tubs of it.

    can the D1 PRO 5w be use to engrave the screen?

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  6 місяців тому

      Probably, however I can't guarantee it would without testing it and we don't have a 5 watt machine.

    IS there a specific type of image that needs to be used? i.e. png, jpeg, svg

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  6 місяців тому +1

      You have to be able to separate the image into layers as you need to be able to engrave each layer onto a different screen. So I found that SVGs worked the best for this.

    Are the screens reusable?

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  6 місяців тому

      Yes you can reuse the screens. xTool say they can be reused up to 100 times using the same design. If you want to change the design you will need to re-coat the screens so that they can be lasered on once again. I have no idea how you do that but I'm sure there is someone on UA-cam who does.

      @@alandacraft Great videos. Can you remove the screens from the frames for storage and replace them in the frames for printing? Especially when using multi-color designs? Or would I need to buy enough frames for all the designs in my catalog?
