    Thanks bro, I finally know how this kind of pixel house is done through your video. But what if we want to further improve the details of the facade? For example, facade windows, balconies? Or bake out, or refine it in rhino?

    • @AndrewFriedenberg
      @AndrewFriedenberg  3 роки тому +5

      What I showed is definitely the massing phase of your design. Of course you’ll have to break each floor apart and further design them.
      In terms of making the script more of a finalized design…you could start assigning different units to each voxel. For example all the points on the exterior are assigned to a facade modules and interior are just slab or unit modules. That’s the next step!

    Can this be applied with several dimension cubes to populate a shape with space / residential unit typologies?

    • @AndrewFriedenberg
      @AndrewFriedenberg  4 місяці тому

      Certainly… it’ll just need a LOT more logic built in. Some sort of packing exercise for the different sizes or maybe just subdivisions of eachother

    Great video! - the term is voxelate, voxel is like a pixel in 3D

    Excellent video. I have a query, when I create the volume with SUBD, it appears as an "OPEN SUBD", and when I take it to grasshopper it does not process the geometry correctly. Any suggestions to make it a "CLOSE SUBD".

    • @yellowsquare5998
      @yellowsquare5998 Рік тому

      To clarify: when I connect the SubD to the brep the list of points in "point in brep" all comes out as false. What could I be doing wrong?

    • @AndrewFriedenberg
      @AndrewFriedenberg  Рік тому

      @@yellowsquare5998 I imagine it's because your subd>brep isnt closed or is an invalid brep due to duplicate faces. Try to input just a simple subd cube and see if that works!

    I have been experimenting with this technique lately and im curious on how you would implement this strategy with a mesh type instead of a brep ( domain box). Because, I would expect the script to need less computation power if it were a mesh but for me, so far, that hasnt been the case. Any tips on how to achieve a mesh outcome following your strategy? Awesome tutorial btw :D

    • @AndrewFriedenberg
      @AndrewFriedenberg  2 роки тому

      I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yes you're right using a mesh voxel would be much better than a NURBS box. You should just be able to create a simple 6 face mesh box and then orient it to all of those points quite easily. Let me know how it goes
