I'm not sure what's funnier, Liam and Taliesin both going "Ice Cream!" or Taliesin's reaction to it. That had me laughing much hard than I probably should have been.
I'm drunk and the little Taliesin on the side of the the box is making me giggle profusely. Why is Taliesin so wonderful?! Don't worry Liam, I love you too! You are a mostly different kind of wonderful
"Look at that, my crippling depression is blinking and glowing." lol I love just seeing you guys take care of each other. Little things that I can't even put into words but it's great watching yall.
I'm so glad to see critical role having become such a wonderful thing thats transcended just d&d on thursdays. I'm glad to see such great people succeed at making their own brand and having fun with their friends.
Could not agree more. It's nice seeing how far they've come. They've earned it. I wish I could go play with the Mame Cabinet with them. Be so fun to play weird ass games with Taliesin.
Hearing Liam loved Wasteland just makes so much happiness warm my heart, it really makes me wonder if he played the newer ones, and what he thought about them
I love you, Taliesin! Love you, Liam! You guys are like extended family, that I don't know personally, but you definitely were there for me when I was bored or alone. Both of you are looking great! Play some fucking arcade! Let's do this!
Thank you Crit Role. All Work No Play helped me get through a very rough time this year and it was Taliesin's one shot that has inspired a game of Vampire the Masquerade that I am currently in. Please keep up the amazing content, you are what the world sorely needs. AWNP season two please!!!!!!
How I imagine this show came together: Someone (Travis probably) "Hey, if we make a show with it, we can totally expense an arcade game for the studio!"
I'm always fascinated to hear about arcade halls and their history in the US and other places since they got instabanned here in Sweden and are still really expensive to run and without the culture of them existing it really isn't a thing.
I would totally watch this as a series! And if you guys enjoyed Bubble Bobble, then you might like SNK's Nightmare in the Dark. It's essentially the same game, but you're a gravedigger killing undead in a cemetery with a magic lantern, and since it's SNK the art and animations are gorgeous!
I'm an audience member who remembers Chairy. Don't care that this comment is 3 years late. Since 2020, time has no meaning. Love you Art Dad and Goth Dad!
Ahh the countless hrs inside putt-putt golf, playing these classic games..watching you guys playing these games brings back a wave of nostalgia. Love it.
I played Pachinko in Tokyo once. No idea what i was doing. Just chucking metal balls in and watchin' em fall. All part of the Japanese experience. Had awesome Ramen noodles afterwards.
I miss arcade games. Joust was a favorite of mine. Some friends of mine and I made a standing board with little foam islands and we used Warhammer Brettonian eagle riding Knights to do our own version of it lol! Also my favorite line from an arcade game "Elf is about to die!"
Its so much fun watching and listening you play. I want to play Bubble Bobble too or with you guys. Lord, it would be so much fun to just hang around and just draw while you do/have your shenanigans. Just watching through list of videos I still have not watched while crafting tiny spellbook and writing cantrips and spells up for my Cleric. Bitten by a craft-bug middle of nigh.. tho it's early morning now, oops. Keep being you, you awesome fantastic lovely people of CR and hopefully, we see you visiting at the other side of pond again in future. (Would be awesome to get you to Finland to visit Ropecon or Tracon, our roleplay/popularculture conventions. Need to make suggestion for the organizers. :P ) Back to crafting with fresh cup of chamomille-tea and hopefully soon to sleep some too. ~Sanelma~
Taliesin & I seem to have a real fascination for obscure tech/science/nerd stuff and the fact he knows about the MasterSystem 3D and I know only a handful of other people who have heard of it outside myself makes me have faith in humanity :D
Is MAME Drop a regular show? Can it be a regular show? I'd love for MAME Drop to be a regular show. Thank you, please, thank you. Anyway, all that aside, it might be rad for MAME Drop to be a regular show.
Seeing these types of videos really makes me wish they made a series where they just play games for an hour like twice a week. Just something new every time or a few episodes of one game if they really like it.
Man, I sank so much money into the Cpt. America cab at Peter Piper Pizza back when I was, what, 7-8 years old? This gave me flashbacks, man. "I can't move!" Gah, so many memories I thought were long gone!
lol Mame Drop should totally be a series. Just a playthrough or two of beat-em-ups, or even a small tournament of fighting games. There's tons of stuff you could do with this beautiful machine!
I've played all these games, except the elevator action 2. I didn't even know it existed. I've played elevator action a lot in the past, and i love the music.
I played Bubble Bobble so much on the NES with my siblings. Hearing the music is instant nostalgia. I wonder if they have Hologram Time Traveler on there. It'd also be great to see them do 4 player Simpsons sometime.
This is as good a place as any to just throw this out there. I want to thank you and all the people at critical role as well as Geek and Sundry for the past couple of years for all of y'all. The lot of you have helped me well not get through but cope with it as best I can. You know the campaign is one thing. Something to look forward too on Thursdays that allows you to remember the past. When you used to get together with friends and roll some dice. Stuff like this helps you remember the past in a different way. Times when you went to some arcade put five bucks into a token machine got a bunch of useless metal discs that if you walked out weren't good for because heaven forfend they give you quarters, you can spend quarters outside of the arcade can't have that LOL but in there they were the most valuable thing in the world. Cuz you wanted to play that that game with the cowboy that was made of holograms that only was at specific arcade or that game of afterburner that was in a fully hydraulic machine. You got together with those same friends you play D&D with and you jumped on that six player X-Men game and you fought over who got the place at Cyclops cuz he had the nasty optic blast, of course mileage may vary. Anyway I'll wrap this ramble up by just saying one more time thanks to all of you and peace to you and your families have a good life.
I'm loving all the new variety of content these guys are putting out. I basically live on the Critical Role channel these days. I will say this though, if we don't get an Ashley Johnson-Between the Sheets soon I'm leading the revolt!
golden axe is such a good game been dying for a new golden axe, shinobi, shadow dancer, streets of rage, guantlet, bubble bobble ever since i was young lol
I remember playing the original elevator action in the arcade with my dad. He would control the guy and let me hit the shoot button. My brother sister and I would have to take turns.
That was a lot of fun, the other day I was playing the capcom beat em up bundle with a friend. While it weren't the games we personally played back then it really did take us back to that era. Now I wonder if they have those games on here too. King of Dragons might be my favorite of the bunch, it's a full D&D like adventure.
Check out Cadash(that game ate A LOT of my money as a kid lol), and another gun game revolution X it's even got Aerosmith doing vocals and music, and OMG the puns on Bubble Bobble! (also you boy's forgot you can jump on your bubbles lol)
Great episode! Thank you for this! ! Loved all the games but ELEVATOR ACTION 2 FTW! lol What does it mean when I would literally watch these two just play Elevator Action with commentary for 10+ hours?
Art Dad and Goth Dad are Best Dads
5:35 "the bowling alleys I hung out with"
I knew it. Liam's been a building all along.
"oh, this is like being on acid.... I THIIINK"

"my crippling depression is blinking and glowing" same gang same....
"Oh look, my crippling depression is blinking & glowing - ATTACK IT ATTACK IT!" hahaha
I miss this series. Taliesin and Liam are so relaxing and fun to watch, just chilling and talking about stuff :)
"half our audience dosent know what we are talkign about" half of us do and love it
Mekkalekkahi mekkahinnyho.
"Look at that, my crippling depression is blinking and glowing." lol I love just seeing you guys take care of each other. Little things that I can't even put into words but it's great watching yall.
2:02 Golden Axe
12:11 Space Harrier
19:18 Shinobi
24:59 Avengers
35:30 Tron
37:58 Crystal Castles
41:50 Quiz & Dragons
47:14 Mr Do's Castle
49:30 Elevator Action
55:31 Bubble Bobble
Doing the good work there, thanks.
Thanks, Flando. ;)
Definitely make MAME Drop a regular series. Easy to produce and another avenue for CR personalities to shine.
This and the Soul Calibur character creation should be a weekly or bi-weekly show.
it will be, they just announced it ^^
I'm so glad to see critical role having become such a wonderful thing thats transcended just d&d on thursdays. I'm glad to see such great people succeed at making their own brand and having fun with their friends.

Hearing Liam loved Wasteland just makes so much happiness warm my heart, it really makes me wonder if he played the newer ones, and what he thought about them
I think Travis would make an excellent talking chair. He seems sturdy.
I'd totally sit on him...
Liam and Taliesin are awesome together. This was so much fun. More Arcade Games!
next time Fjord has a dream all he will hear is “EXTEND”
I love you, Taliesin! Love you, Liam! You guys are like extended family, that I don't know personally, but you definitely were there for me when I was bored or alone.
Both of you are looking great! Play some fucking arcade! Let's do this!
I feel the same way, fellow critter. Have a wonderful day.
We're all one big family :)
They really are.
I love the enthusiasm and nostalgia for the classic arcade games that both Taliesin and Liam have
I would watch paint dry if they were watching it as well. Everything is truly content when critical role does it.
*_Furious clicking_*
Thank you Crit Role. All Work No Play helped me get through a very rough time this year and it was Taliesin's one shot that has inspired a game of Vampire the Masquerade that I am currently in. Please keep up the amazing content, you are what the world sorely needs. AWNP season two please!!!!!!
How I imagine this show came together: Someone (Travis probably) "Hey, if we make a show with it, we can totally expense an arcade game for the studio!"
Watching this two years late, but YES PLEASE! Come to the National Museum of Play in Rochester, NY! Love that comment!
Seeing these two having so much fun with these arcade games is so entertaining!
I'm always fascinated to hear about arcade halls and their history in the US and other places since they got instabanned here in Sweden and are still really expensive to run and without the culture of them existing it really isn't a thing.
My sincerest wish is these two playing Metal Slug co-op for an hour or two.
I was hoping to see some Sinistar, Defender, or Berserker.
HEAVY BARREL!
Oh I want to see Alien syndrome being played as well.
I'm so glad they got their own channel
Liam listening to Daft Punk on his runs makes me a happy boy
I just realised, the dwarf actually HAS the golden axe.
I've never been so fascinated by two people and an arcade machine
I would totally watch this as a series! And if you guys enjoyed Bubble Bobble, then you might like SNK's Nightmare in the Dark. It's essentially the same game, but you're a gravedigger killing undead in a cemetery with a magic lantern, and since it's SNK the art and animations are gorgeous!
So excited for this video, love you both!
Taliesin... He says "Crystal Castles" and I go into Flashbacks. I'm not kidding.
25:20 Well he's back now, with a weirdly designed katana so I guess it's Ronin time...
Arcade gaming should be a proper show on here :D
That was fun. I can't wait to see more of you guys in this kind of setting.
I am so happy you're making videos with that monster.
His name is Taliesin. Jeez.
Vision being fabulous with that walk cycle~ ;D
my two husbands in one video? oh, today is good.
seeing these people relive younger days by playing these arcade games is just heartwarming.
20:05 Ninjas were early adopters of the Arquebus - an early firearm.
I'm an audience member who remembers Chairy. Don't care that this comment is 3 years late. Since 2020, time has no meaning. Love you Art Dad and Goth Dad!

Two old guys play old school games I love it
19:46...I might know a James Testa. I'm going to check.
I played Pachinko in Tokyo once. No idea what i was doing. Just chucking metal balls in and watchin' em fall. All part of the Japanese experience. Had awesome Ramen noodles afterwards.

I remember all these games! My father made sure to let my brother and i play these during our childhood and Bubble Bobble was my favorite =D
Used to play Bubble Bobble on my TI-84 graphing calculator. I was pretty good at it too
I am here for all of this. I need this nostalgia by proxy, and you're reinforcing I need a mame when I redo the basement...
Its so much fun watching and listening you play. I want to play Bubble Bobble too or with you guys. Lord, it would be so much fun to just hang around and just draw while you do/have your shenanigans. It's easy to know about things when you've been alive for thousands of years
Was waiting for this video for a while! thanks for sharing. awesome!
Is MAME Drop a regular show? Can it be a regular show? I'd love for MAME Drop to be a regular show. Thank you, please, thank you. Anyway, all that aside, it might be rad for MAME Drop to be a regular show.

i freaking love this please make the cabinet of wonders a regular thing
Seeing these types of videos really makes me wish they made a series where they just play games for an hour like twice a week. Just something new every time or a few episodes of one game if they really like it.
If you do decide you need a talking chair, I am sure I can help with that.
Taff is an informal/derogatory slang term for a Welshman.
Gregg Bond it’s not derogatory if we embrace it... Taff and proud!
Which is also why I try to shag every sheep I come across.
@@davewarren1432 Walians sounds like the name of a creature in D&D
Plz bring the show back
I've been watching all the episodes over and over
Plzzzzz 😭😭😭😭😭
They... Hurt... Alex!!!
56:57 ICE CREAMMMMMM!!!
Man, I sank so much money into the Cpt. America cab at Peter Piper Pizza back when I was, what, 7-8 years old? This gave me flashbacks, man. "I can't move!" Gah, so many memories I thought were long gone!

Why this is so enjoyable to watch? Is it the sound of endless arcade clicking? I'm pretty sure it is.
Awww MR DOO I loved that game so much
Hitchhiker's guide text game is on the BBCs website. Search for Hitchhiker's Guide game.
This brings so much joy to my soul
The dwarf in Golden Axe is a straight up gangsta.
I'm loving all the new variety of content these guys are putting out. I basically live on the Critical Role channel these days.
I will say this though, if we don't get an Ashley Johnson-Between the Sheets soon I'm leading the revolt!
in golden axe part the barnacles are probably actual barnacles. the village the characters run through is on the back of a giant turtle 😁
golden axe is such a good game been dying for a new golden axe, shinobi, shadow dancer, streets of rage, guantlet, bubble bobble ever since i was young lol
I remember playing the original elevator action in the arcade with my dad.

I'm 22 but I remember playing Quiz and Dragon on my PSP and I don't remember how I got it but it was great!
This is awesome. I'm going to build me one of those.
Some of us remember the VHS tapes of peewee playhouse and HR puffnstuff from their childhoods .XD
I want them to do 4 player xmen so bad
It's a good day to watch two beautiful men giggle about digital ice cream.
I just impatiently waited for Bubble Bobble.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I want more Quiz and Dragons :-)
The "dessert eagle" really cracks me up. XD
i love that sweater
Check out Cadash(that game ate A LOT of my money as a kid lol), and another gun game revolution X it's even got Aerosmith doing vocals and music, and OMG the puns on Bubble Bobble! (also you boy's forgot you can jump on your bubbles lol)
Fantastic video. Very entertaining. I laughed so much. More please
Druid, reincarnate
Liam O'Brien, I believe the game you were trying to remember the name of was 'Section Z'.
It's okay Talliesin, just use your eldritch powers to enchant a chair. Easy enough, right? :P
The arcade games I sank so many quarters into was Gauntlet and TMNT.
Im 90% sure the caution siren from the elevator game is the same alarm sound from golden eye for nintendo 64
Man Space Harrier was giving me some serious flashbacks to my childhood.
Great episode! Thank you for this! ! Loved all the games but ELEVATOR ACTION 2 FTW! lol What does it mean when I would literally watch these two just play Elevator Action with commentary for 10+ hours?
While they were playing I made my self a bowl of ice cream. Then they started talking about ice cream 😂😂😂 love mame cabnet
I just went to Dave & Busters last night for my work holiday party. Best place for corporate parties.
Golden Axe - which uses sound samples from the movies First Blood and Conan the Barbarian
23:10
Target taking over a town is like every restaurant being taco Bell
Thank you Liam for thinking Tron Legacy is good.
Please make a show dedicated to the exploration and playing of retro arcade gaming :D
