I'd like to try again Trade Republic as it didn't allow me to transfer funds when I opened it at first. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Have a healthy and wealthy new year!🎉
Seems like you are market timing crypto, not buying/selling eth and taking money off the table with btc. What is the rationale especially as you advocate against market timing with ETFs?
Hello Angelo, thanks for all your 2024 videos! Also, as a suggestion, maybe an IBKR tutorial including some "advanced" stuff like buy order types would be interesting (I'm interested in trailing orders). Grazie mille!
Very good job, definitely better returns than us. Great simple strategy. I wish we had a housing solution similar to that of Vienna in Spain! I'm in the process of liquidating 40% of my portfolio right now to purchase a flat in Barcelona, and will still have a 30 year mortgage, but rent was going out of hand. Also I find I'm fighting an uphill battle against confiscatory taxes here, I literally have 0 incentive to progress at work or get promoted, the taxman will take most of it at this point. All for bad and worsening services. I lived in Vienna for a while and loved it, but could not convince my wife to stay. All the best to you and your family!
There is another advantage in switching from the vanguard to the invesco etf: when you start selling some etf shares in 20-30 years you will pay less taxes when you first sell your invesco shares because you will have less profit per etf share because of the fifo principle. That's why it's a good idea to switch to another etf every 10 years and first sell your newest etf shares and sell your oldest etf shares last to pay less taxes.
Thanks for the comment. So for trade republic you are free to move ETFs around between different brokers, but if you change your country of residence the account is deleted? Is this what you mean? Do you guys know if this is the same with Scalable?
I guess this is relevant to countries with tax on capital gains even for ucits etfs. However I wonder when you have a bucket of etfs bought through the years how do you sell specific ones (newest first)?
Thanks for the high value video, Angelo. I really appreciate you talking & sharing your cryto strategies and lessons as well. All the best for 2025 🍀🎉 Guten Rutsch. 😊
Hi Angelo, great video! What’s your strategy for saving up for bigger expenses like vacations or home improvements that need more planning? Would love to hear your approach. Thanks!
Als Vanguard von 0,25 auf 0,22 senkte, dachte ich noch, sie verfolgen ihre Mission ehrlich. Aber auf Amundi, Invesco und SPDR gab es bisher noch keine Anpassung.
Hi Angelo, thanks again for another great video. It would be cool to see a video about all the platforms and/or apps you use to support you in investment decisions. For example, I know you use JustETF to compare ETFs. Thanks!
Don't simply retire from something; have something to retire to. Start saving, keep saving, and stick to investments. Everyone should have BTC in their portfolio
Happy New Year! I’m sorry if you already explained that. Why you don’t buy SPDR MSCI All WORLD ETF? It has 0.12% fee with good performance through years.
Can You provide more details? I meant, that ETF (SPDR MSCI ALL WORLD) is performing better anyway. So it has lower TER and better performance. Thanks a lot!
One question: if the tracking difference is really low does the TER still matter? If VWCE and invesco etf have almost the same tracking difference, does it make a difference buying one instead of the other?
It doesn't matter, it's a very small fee. It's applied to the total value of the portfolio at the end of the year. For example, you have a portfolio of $100,000, the fee being 0.22% you will pay: $220 at the end of the year. I say this because it doesn't matter at all, with a portfolio of $100,000 your last problem would be the $220 per year. The TER for me is something that doesn't exist and doesn't matter at all.
@@Belerofonty well, the TER is not nothing. Compound those TER money paid each year for the next 20 years and you will find out the lost potential of the money spent on fees that could have otherwise been profit. Of course, there is no such thing as no fees at all, but the rule of thumb is the lower, the better.
But Invesco has a huge spread... about 0.15% and Vanguard only 0.06% which ends up them to be: Invesco: TER 0.15% + Spread 0.15% = 0.3% vs Vanguard TER 0.22% + Spread 0.06% = 0.28% What about that?
Those can not be added together. TER is a yearly percentage over your total investment and spread is a one time percentage fee you pay over each buy or sell amount
Hey Angelo, Is there any apecific reason why you are not using yhe recurring investing from TR, since it has no fees? The IBKR does pay fees. I know you did a video comparing brokers, but you didnt mention that point.
Hey man, its an algo boost comment, also a question, on IBKR, FWRA not available from xetra unfortunatelly, from who are you buying it? Another, btc etf of "real" btc? For tax optimization, it would be easier to buy it as an ETF to TBSZ. As a devops engineer i find it kind of funny, i dont have any crypto in my portfolio YET!
Angelo, have you considered buying an ETF that tracks BTC rather than buying BTC directly? What do you see as the relative advantages and disadvantages?
Hey, thanks for the vid, one question, searching for FWRA in ibk returns 3 options, swiss, uk and italy. Any recomendations on which one? Also, what are the differences exactly? Thanks!
Thanks, Angelo, for sharing your strategy! Could you clarify how you decide how much Bitcoin to sell when rebalancing or taking profits? For example, I considered selling some when it hit 100k but hesitated, unsure if it would keep climbing or whether to sell 25% (of the returns) or all the returns at once when it reaches all time high and keep the core investment there.
I think investors should always put their cash to work, especially in this fourth quarter of 2024, we'll start to see more market diversification. I’m up 87% last year with a 7 figure portfolio well positioned with good blue chip companies and I have stop losses in place, Personally with insights from my FA Abigail Ann Ryan I prefer to invest in large cap companies which have economic moats, large cash flows and strong balance sheets. Some of which are AAPL, MSCI, IUKD, VHYL, SCHD, NVDA and Barclays.
Angelo, can you make a video how to transfer stocks from Degiro or Trade Republic to Interactieve Brokers? I like to transfer some of my US stocks to Interactieve Brokers. Thanks. ❤
Hello Angelo, I've been following you for a long time, your video is very helpful for European investors. I just want to ask you why you like FTSE All World more than MSCI ACWI? I Invest iShare MSCI ACWI from 2021. I know at the end it will probably make little difference which index I follow. But if I compare all the global ETFs in curvo Backtest, I find iShare MSCI ACWI ''Gewinner''. Just to know your thoughts. Thanks for your videos and Guten Rutsch.
Amazing channel and content I have a question is Austria like Germany in terms of tax on ETFs? Do you also have to pay annual tax for unrealised gains even tho you haven’t sold any?
The value at the moment it is 726 million ..probably it will grow..past 1 billion soon.. but this was also a big reason for me for not investing in it at the moment ..and keeping with ishares developed countries for now..
I mean it's over $830M in size by now, so it's not a small ETF any more: www.invesco.com/lu/en/financial-products/etfs/invesco-ftse-all-world-ucits-etf-acc.html Spreads already weren't an issue when I made this video 5 months ago: ua-cam.com/video/lwUoLSHchS0/v-deo.html Just make sure you buy it during regular market hours (9-17:30 CET) and use a reputable broker :)
Hey Angelo I have an additional question about the IBKR fees. I am a European user (living in EU as well) and I get payed in Euros. I have the IBKR PRO Tiered fee program. So the money that I deposit are in Euros. If I want to buy EU stocks/ETFs life is easy I just use EUROS that I have in the account. But the problem starts when I want to buy US stocks in dollars. Do I need to convert to US via currency exchange or is it possible for IBKR to make the convert on its own? And on your opinion what is the best steps to take as a sub 100.000€ account? Do you first convert and buy with 0.33$ fee/buy and 2$ convert or you just buy in Euros and IBKR does the rest?
I asked a similar question to this. I will be buying the USD fund of VWCE and my starting currency is GBP... even though I live in Europe ( portfolio is still with a U.K. broker and before I start to drawdown I have to sell my investments and buy a UCITS Irish domiciled fund with IBKR ). I’ve read Wise are an option to do the conversion, but, I believe IBKR are cheaper after some Googling. I wanted Angelo’s opinion.
Nope, but you most likely wouldn't want to anyway if you're ever going to live in a country that doesn't have an estate tax treaty with the US: ua-cam.com/video/sXK_ncs1GnI/v-deo.html
Based on what analysis and information do you make these "predictions" for how the stock market and bitcoin will perform in 2025? You have calculated actual percentages for the expected performance (eg +9% for the stock market).
Don't take my unqualified predictions seriously please, as there is no way to know, since markets are unpredictable. I simply make these on a yearly basis based on what I think could happen due to different factors (eg. in 2025 there may be be deregulation and lower taxes in US markets, more central bank liquidity, AI breakthroughs could make companies more profitable, Bitcoin's next year should be great based on its previous 4-year cycle etc.) including what some analysts I find interesting say about how next year could turn out. I then check a year later how close or far off I was. That's it, no more no less :)
Hey man, thanks for the content! I’m investing in the SPDR S&P 500 ETF and realized that it has outperformed the FTSE All-World ETF over the long term. What are your thoughts on that?
I'm thinking of switching to FWRA due to your evaluation of costs, but I'm hesitant because I don't want to switch from Trade Republic back to Interactive brokers. Trade Republic is so much easier for me because there's no cost and I have everything automated, so I don't have to think about it. If I switch back to IBR and have to think every single month about buying shares, I probably wouldn't do it regularly.
If you like the simplicity of your setup right now, I wouldn't change anything. VWCE is still a great ETF, don't overthink it - I would be perfectly fine with buying VWCE on TR (savings plan & saveback) if Invesco's ETF wasn't available to me as an Austrian resident. We're talking about a small 0.07% difference p.a. and Vanguard could very well wake up at some point and reduce theirs as well :)
Alright, I’ve been sitting on this 78k emergency fund like a dragon hoarding gold, and now I’m thinking it’s time to do something smart with it. Bitcoin? Crypto? Stocks? Gold bars under the mattress? This ‘Trump Bump’ sounds like a party, but where’s the VIP section for beginners like me? Any tips before I YOLO my savings?
I did this about 18 months ago. All the while you’re waiting for that perfect opportunity to go all in, the markets keep drifting upwards, so you’re missing out on months of +returns. There’s an opportunity cost when trying to time the markets. If I was you I would decide what to invest in and drop the whole lot in. It’s hard to do it psychologically but history shows it’s more often than not the best decision.
Personally I dump my money into jggi, it's a good world index fund and I live in UK so I pay no taxes in my stocks and shares isa so it's a beautiful bonus lol
Bitcoin going 50% higher in 2025? Honestly, after that massive 2024 rally, I’m skeptical. Anyone else think it’s due for a correction or will it keep surprising us?
I Hit $12,590 k today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last week .i started with 3k in last week 2024..... now i just hit $12,590,,,,.
To be honest I really can't understand why you continue investing in All World ETF as you are still young investor and don't buy S&P 500 or Nasdaq 100 ETF... It's so low historical return comparing to my mentioned 2 indexes. As a young investor you can accept huge volatility as those indexes fundamentally are programmed to outperform All World index in the long-run...
I understand the bitcoin investment is working but i think 10% is huge and is probably your largest single investment after its growth. I see bitcoin and other crypto as an allocation that could blow up easily as there's no underlaying asset that the price is based on. It's just based in future growth which is only true until it isn't. And let's be real, crypto is not solving any real world problems. I think potentially many could be hurt by this strategy

Yes sadly: ua-cam.com/video/s_UK3n1PVHs/v-deo.html
In fact it's even more complicated here :/
I heard that Invesco ETF is a small ETF and because of that it is less liquid. What do you think about this comment, Angelo?
The value at the moment it is 726 million ..probably it will grow..past 1 billion soon.. but this was also a big reason for me for not investing in it at the moment ..and keeping with ishares developed countries for now..
I mean it's over $830M in size by now, so it's not a small ETF any more: www.invesco.com/lu/en/financial-products/etfs/invesco-ftse-all-world-ucits-etf-acc.html
Spreads already weren't an issue when I made this video 5 months ago: ua-cam.com/video/lwUoLSHchS0/v-deo.html
Just make sure you buy it during regular market hours (9-17:30 CET) and use a reputable broker :)
@AngeloColomboFi many🙏, Angelo. And keep going. Very interesting videos!🙏👍
Cant you buy VT in Austria?
Here you go :)

@AngeloColomboFi Thanks man
I'm thinking of switching to FWRA due to your evaluation of costs, but I'm hesitant because I don't want to switch from Trade Republic back to Interactive brokers.
I have the same problem i cannot decide. I know that ibkr has fees but i would probably sleep better knowing that my money is with ibkr.
Thanks for this feedback. It was bugging me for some time. So I guess I’m staying with my current setup then. 😁 at least for now.
VWCE and chill
One ETF strategy?
Boglehead philosophy.
Bitcoin going 50% higher in 2025? Honestly, after that massive 2024 rally, I’m skeptical. Anyone else think it’s due for a correction or will it keep surprising us?
i invest in splg (US) and it has a 0.03% expense ratio
Even my position on VXUS has a lower expense ratio than VWCE
I imagine the EUs favourite word is why EU ETFs are more expensive than US ones. Since you’re American bonus points if you guess the word haha.
I Hit $12,590 k today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last week .i started with 3k in last week 2024..... now i just hit $12,590,,,,.
RIP to the guy that pasted his seed phrase in the comments I guess
If only, sadly those posts are from scammers so pay attention
Yeah, just hope that was him moving his coins because there was at least 8k€ worth one second and 0 the next, or that it's just a scam attempt
Why not the IWDA ? 70 % of the ETF focus on the US market + it give additional diversification with company located outisde of US
I feel as an European we are loosing when investing on Dividend ETF's because taxes.
and missing KID's like SCHD :/
in Belgium we don't have the taxe if the dividends are reinvested automatically in the ETF (acc ETF)
Totally agree :/
Ok
Ich verkaufte 50% des Portfolios und schichte in Anleihen
I understand the bitcoin investment is working but i think 10% is huge and is probably your largest single investment after its growth. I see bitcoin and other crypto as an allocation that could blow up easily as there's no underlaying asset that the price is based on. It's just based in future growth which is only true until it isn't. And let's be real, crypto is not solving any real world problems.
I think potentially many could be hurt by this strategy
My investing plan is one sentence: buy nasdaq 100, pray and dont check the numbers, until the end of the year
you're 34?
Yup
@AngeloColomboFiyou look more old
👍
First comment😅
Big dump in global market in Q1 soon
Bro is level 9 bald
Do I lose my eyebrows at level 10?
@AngeloColomboFi unfortunately yes, but on the plus side your power grows exponentially.
Your whole reasoning for vanguard is at least ridiculous ...dont be cheap..
Hi Angelo,i saw that you track your portfolio with getquin.have you got any issue with synchronization with the interactive brokers?i have this broblen the last 10 day and I cannot see nothing on my getquin account.this is happening since we switch to Ireland account.can you help me with the connectivity? regards Antoniadis nikolaos
