Hi David, Thanks to your videos, I passed the PMP exam today! Your efforts and dedication to the PMP community are truly appreciated. Thank you for everything that you do.
Hi David. Greetings from India. I passed my PMP exam today. after completing the online classes, your youtube videos made a base on how to handle the questions in exam. Your videos really helped me in getting through. thanks again and wish you the best always.
You definitely ignore the question that PMP is a fantastic way for PMI to get filthy rich by charging money every 3 years for nothing. So to keep you certification you have to pay PMI for all your life. LOL. You become a paying machine for them :)
Oh good point. I did ignore that! But that one is also simple - no one is forced to keep it up to date. It's the act of getting it, getting the knowledge, and using it to get ahead a little at first which is probably the most valuable bit. At least it was for me.
I really thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful videos that you prepared for PMP this has helped me a lot in my preparation to achieve my goal
Hi David! Thanks for all you do. Your videos, especially your numerous question and answer videos, helped me passed the PMP at first sitting! Keep up the great job. 👏 👏 👏...Emmanuel from Lagos, Nigeria.
Hi David, I wanted to thank you for the outstanding videos you produced on PMP preparation. I watched almost all of them in addition to my own study. I did pass the exam first time around 2 days ago. I recommend you to others who need help and I would recommend them taking your class on Udemy. Also, what I really liked besides the video content was your extremely positive feedback and outgoing personality. Thanks again.
Hi David, i want to thank you for this video who helped me a lot. I'm working on agile environment and need to know if PMP is better than PMI-ACP certification to get be hired ?
The job market for Project Managers in 2024 is competitive. Perhaps the market will improve in 2025-26, but if I were starting or moving careers, I would not invest time in becoming a Project Manager. A better option would be to become a business analyst. I am saying it as Technical PM with 10 year experience
I have definitely found that achieving my PMP has expanded my knowledge base and validated my years of project management experience. The investment in myself and my career is worth it to me and the PDUs make sure I keep learning and growing. The exam was harder than what I had practiced for but having the PMI mindset was key. Love your videos, David! They were great in helping me synthesize the PMP information to achieve a passing score!! 🎉🎉
Hi David, I wish to know whether this PMP certification is relevant for a person like me who is a mechanical engineer and working in a manufacturing industry for last 10 years. Can you clarify? OR it is only relevant to IT professionals.
The Process Groups would definitely be relevant. They used to be the PMBOK 6th Ed, now called the Process Groups Practice Guide. Those process steps helped me get more done, get better outcomes and win more at work. Relevant if you're making change or delivering business value. Even if you're just leading new teams it can help 😊
@@davidmclachlanproject Thank you for your response David, but frankly I am more concerned to understand whether PMP will be helpful if I have been in a marketing profile and do not have any project execution experience.
Everyone is different. You need at a bare minimum the 35 hours of PM education to apply for the exam. Then most people will study more on top of that - doing practice exams is a great way to embed the knowledge. I did at least 30 mins to one hour every day for 3 months, but again, everyone is different 😊
@@michirie66 I did about 80 hours over 1 month. I would have spread it out to 2 to 3 months in hindsight. The time was split between reading the text, writing notes, doing practice tests and watching (and answering) David’s practice questions. I still felt like I could have used more time but passed above target so that was good.
I am an IT Project Manager at CUNY. The VP of our division mentioned PMWeb and Primavera applications. Do you think it is important for me to learn these applications?
This one depends on the organization. If PMWeb and Primavera are used by, and important to your organization, then absolutely. If not, I would focus on being great with whatever they use (MS project, Jira, Monday, Smartsheets, etc)
Anyone have any success stories? Skimmed the comments looking for added value in their careers or career search but there did not seem to be any testimonies of life after the PMP. Quite possibly because those who get their PMP are neck deep in project stuff and dont have time for UA-cam videos about the PMP lol
Hello! I hope all is well. I see that you have a PMP certification. That's one of few areas I've been looking into. I was wondering if you could direct me to any positions that likely would not require a certification to get my foot in the door with hopes of the company investing in me getting certified. Any suggestions or recommendations you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
I failed pmp exam triple time and I studied your videos too much I studied pmi study hall twice and every time I took the exam the score is worse than before may be I am stupid man it is a very bad exam I do my best no one tell me any blame

I passed the pmp this week with your help. BTY what exam do most people do next?
CSM and PMI-ACP
Good responses already - ACP is good, CSM or PSM, and then PgMP for program management (33% increase in pay there, according to the PM salary report)
Meanwhile, do you have videos on CBAP? Or any recommendations?

Does obtaining a PMP help in gettting a higher salary when starting a new job?

Don't I need some 3 years of experience to do PMP?
