I just surprised myself I've never been able to follow along so easily, I was playing along as you went through each pattern AND I ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD IT :D Thank you for such an informative and clear video!!
I love that you did this with a Bo Burnham song 😂 Inside was so good!! This was super helpful! You explain things so so well. Things I've been trying to work on for a while somehow become easier once you've done a video on it. Thanks again!
Awesome tutorial...can u increase reference audio volume am using good earphones but can't identify the notes of audio ur piano volume is high so plss ...Tq ur videos is very useful for beginners like me👌
Bro, could you try to play a song from “ask alexandria” “alone in a room? I would love to hear this. There are videos how people play it but it feels like ots missing somerhing… i think you could olay this with so more dynamic. ( sorry for bad english)
I wanna see you react to Kyle Landry’s American Rhapsody! :p I think you’ll love it. Or!! His romantic poem improvisation 157, it’s got a LOT of unexpected moments and it sounds pretty damn nice. American Rhapsody is my fav though.
Thanks for the overview! Out of curiosity, any particular reason why you went with calling the identified major scale F# instead of Gb? Is it a common convention to use one over the other on the piano? Or does it have something to do with the context of the song? Just taste at this point? 😊
Any suggestions on how to get better at hearing notes other than the melody? Eg identifying base notes. I really struggle to hear the underlying chord, eg if the chords change but the melody note is the same, I find it hard to tell the difference
learning basic music theory in the sense of chord progressions and basic triads and 7th chords and your interval is an additional practice to help you identify notes easier
Each major scale has a relative minor (the natural minor scale is the same as the relative major) - so for the purposes of working a song out by ear, it doesn’t matter too much. E.g if you think it’s in C major and it’s actually in A minor, the scale will be the same for the most part…so you will get the same results 😊
@@matticawoodand what about the chords which are not in scale ....some songs use chords which are not in the scale....it's called non diatonic I guess....how to find them
Day-2 asking of help ..it is very tough to learn sheet music....and there is no teacher in my city.....I like to play it by ear ...I tried learning sheet music but converting the black dots to notes then to play it on piano it was taking too much time.....the downside of playing by ear is that I can't play the tough classical pieces ...... do you have suggestion any where can I learn sheet music properly so that I can play the classical pieces just by reading it...I am also ready to join a paid course. I also want to play like those musicians who in thier first try play the piece slowly (by reading) and in the 3rd try just perfect .
Hey I need a pianist help anyone works I have played for almost 2 years and I’m wondering if I should start playing moonlighting sonatas mvt 3 if so have any practice tips

Lovely suitably fast lesson for someone who has most of the logic but is working without a teacher.

I'm just going to be honest. Any app that isn't on Apple and Android, isn't a serious app.
Eh that’s true and false

What about the minor scales? How do you figure out if a song is in Major or minor?
