    The BAC Lightning has been recorded at 80,000 ft, not bad for an aeroplane designed in 1954!

      English Electric if you please. There's a video on here of one doing an intercept on a U-2 then going on to 84,000 ft.

    I worked security at the U-2 ramp at U-Tapao when they were flying 3 missions a day. I believe they were using an El Camino as the chase car, anyone remember?

    Airliners have been flying Cat 3 autoland approaches for many years. Definitely NOT new. As far as the U-2's minimized radar cross-section? There's nothing stealthy about that jet. Who writes this stuff?

    At 70,000 feet what is the turn radius? After all it does have to return home.
